I've never been more confused about anything ever than the Minecraft movie. It's like this fever dream of decisions that is ultimately coming together into what may be either the most fascinating adaptation of a game to the big screen, or one of the most psychotic films of our generation. Like, absolutely none of the decisions they've made for this film are decisions I would have even considered for a Minecraft movie.
The fact that they're putting in this much effort in a fucking Minecraft movie is genuinely amazing, i haven't seen this much effort put in a video game adaptation movie since Sonic and Sonic 2 and it honestly excites me more than it should
I would say the same about the fnaf movie but to me only the animatronics were the ones that look like they put in the extra effort to make them look good.

One thing I've been wondering is: what's going to be the actual plot of the Minecraft live action movie? Now I'm sure people will just say: *"Oh, it'll be defeating the Ender Dragon!"* Okay, but how would the Ender Dragon be the antagonist in the story? Do you know what I mean? It was easy enough to make a movie about Mario, because Bowser was the main villain in the original game. Defeating the bad guy is the main goal of any story. But in Minecraft, how is the Ender Dragon a bad guy? Does he like... mind control the endermen or something?
Actually that might be the plot of the movie. Because when you kill the ender dragon, you get a "free the end" achievement. So maybe he has to rescue someome who got trapped in the end? Like Alex? And there's theories that endermen are the ancient builders of Minecraft who got trapped in the end, building end cities and stuff but unable to kill the dragon, so they ended up living there and by eating the chorus fruit they eventually evolved with teleportation abilities. Also some of the sounds endermen make are actually saying "hey" and "whats up", so they still have some language. And they're the only mob that can pick up blocks aside from the player. Maybe this is the plot of the movie?
i mean even though it was never admitted, but minecraft does have lore, there's no way its just a sandbox survival game and nothing else, things like the nether fortress, the stronghold, end portal, villagers and their opposites the pillagers, and all of sorts of things in the game indicate that there has to be a sort of story in the game

I think its going to be very similar to the minecraft novel: The Island. Basically it follows a guy, from real life, who 'no-clips' into a world made of blocks, he basically needs to figure a way off the island while also trying to figure out the mechanics of how things work all on his own. His inventory is a belt around his waist and his hotbar is a braclet, he learns that food magically gets consumed when he puts it to his mouth (in that same scene he also finds out he cant speak or blink). it probally going to be very similar to that.
I remember i heard the plot is like “minecraft before minecraft” which really confused me at first, until now im thinking that meant like those abandoned structures, villages, woodland mansions, the ocean monuments etc. But that “plot” of minecraft before like the player was probably just misinformation

The plot will be a bunch of famous people sucked into a strange new world and they have to figure out how to get back home. They discover themselves, grow closer, make friends and conquer enemies and obstacles along the way.
You know... Not knowing what the plot is or just not knowing what the film is in general... Is how you know... Most films are supposed to leave you hyped!? If you know the plot, then what's the point of watching the movie? Half of the movies sometimes are mostly ruined because people have leaked most of the story. Remember back in the day when they leaked the ending of Terminator salvation, where they were going to remove John Connor's face and put it on Marcus Wright's face and then he was going to turn evil and murder everyone? People lost their shit when that ending was leaked, So Warner Brothers had to last minute, Change the entire new ending and the one we got in salvation basically changed everything that the original linked one was supposed to be. So how about Cool your Jets and be patient? When we see a physical trailer And poster, That's when we can lose our shit and start to worry. Edit: Yeah I get it. We're at the Marvel phase 1 era of it. History will run its course, And ultimately people will get video game fatigue, And basically something else will take it over... And I already predict Live action anime and or Live action Cartoon adaptations will be the next thing to be we'll get the hang of... History repeats itself in many different ways that you'll never expect, But even if it comes unexpectedly, There's a good and bad that we can all cherish together.
I think by plot people don't mean the actual story, what they are talking about might be what the story is even going to be about, which is usually the first or second thing that gets exposed within a story, not the events that will happen in it. From what I see people say, I believe that is what they mean when they say they wanna know the plot.

I’m going to guess that the movie plot is that they go on a long expedition and try and beat the ender dragon. They would probably go on all sorts of adventures, beat a raid, find new friends (that’s what Dawn could be) and fight lots of mobs. I wonder how the mobs would look.

I'm genuinely so excited for this; There's a million and one different stories that they could tell with this, Minecraft is basically just a fantasy setting you can project a story onto... the Minecraft books did a lot of really cool things that while yes you could definitely put those exact stories nearly word for word into a generic fantasy world are special because of the Minecraft touch and creatures and mechanics that make up the world- Whatever they end up deciding to do, I know that it'll probably be great due to the boundless creativity they could pour into this xd

I really hope they have to go on an adventure, on demand from some wise villager, and have to enter caves, and you'll have encounters with the Warden like something you'd see in LoTR with the Moria mines. Obviously I hope they kill the wither and maybe a raid, but most important of all the Ender Dragon.
1:32 That was the plot for an older version of the Minecraft movie, back when it was supposed to come out in 2022 (originally it was supposed to come out 2019).
Maybe it could be inspired from a Minecraft fan made Manga. There is a Manga, that students join in a gaming project that gets sent in VR block world and they get stuck. They cannot leave server and have to survive and beat the game. Or telltale Minecraft story mode S3 as a movie, because company shut down.

They are probably going to make up some goofy scenario where they weee just normal people before being chosen by some higher power dto save this world and then they end up getting transported there.

YES! Thats exactly what I’m thinking, and I think this is a great concept, the only downside is that its been used before in movies such as jumanji, but I do think this would be an interesting way to go about it.

Oh gosh what if in the movie they show that everything in Minecraft gaming history was canon in lore, like Skyblock, Prison survival, certain youtubers being founders of the world of minecraft, Herobrine and Notch, Skywars, Bedwars (Maybe there's a whole lotta stuff like that and Minecraft is a gladiatorial meritocracy world hahahaha), Eggwars, Death Tag, Speedrunner v Hunters... it's a horrifying world yet with beautiful sceneries and calming times. They should really emphasize on the vibe of Minecraft. Maybe it'll feel like the Lego Movie and more.

My best guess: Hollywood wanted in on 'Let's Play' and meme money because they're REALLY DESPERATE. To do a movie about Minecraft is actually genius for them, because Hollywood doesn't know how to make good plots anymore, so if they do a movie about Minecraft, which has no plot, theoretically it is impossible for them to screw it up. Theoretically. On the EXTREME benefit of the doubt, they might be taking Minecraft lore from Game Theory and making a movie about the ancient builders.
"The ender dragon destroys the overworld" the plot is one guy in the server is hacking. He starts with going into creative mode and spawning the ender dragon, starts spawning withers and shit, giant zombie
The only way it can work as a live action is to either trapped in a game sort of plot or the minecraft world being a visual representation of people playing the game
The trees are likely physical because they are on the ground. A lot of the time everything near the actors or on the ground in less action filled scenes has to be practical, while everything in the distance can be green screened. In an action scene where everything is constantly moving it doesn’t matter if a tree move a bit weirdly but it does if people are just standing around talking.

Minecraft movie plot: first it starts as Steve waking up, this foreshadows what Steve will have to do in order to save the end. Then he gets up, makes food and then Alex (Steve's soon to be wife) is introduced helping him make food. They eat and then zombies are attacking the village! Steve and Alex try to fend them off but are cornered. Then suddenly chris prat comes in to save both of them, he then guides them to his base where Mario is waiting. Mario gives them both a mushroom soup, then they setoff to the nether after Mario tells them to find blazes in there. Steve and Alex have a hard time in the nether but eventually get the rods, they are then attacked by endermen (which they kill which gives them the needed amount of eyes of ender) then they go back to Mario and Mario makes the eys of ender, Mario then tells them that they will need to defeat the ender dragon from how to train your dragon. Steve and Alex locate the end with difficulty, they are then fighting the ender dragon. An epic battle commences in which Alex almost dies, Steve has to sleep in the bed to gain the power to kill the dragon! Steve kills the dragon but at a cost of him sleeping forever. The movie ends with Alex saying "I'm sorry I never confessed my feelings earlier" and then Lady Gaga sings a song at the end.
I had a dream a few nights ago in which I met Jack Black and he told me Jason Momoa was gonna be playing the enderdragon. That's how confusing the idea of this movie is for my brain.
The most reassuring thing about it so far is the IMDB plot being false, no one would watch a movie about some random group of teens that's supposed to be Minecraft. We want Steve!

The plot will be a bunch of famous people sucked into a strange new world and they have to figure out how to get back home. They discover themselves, grow closer, make friends and conquer enemies and obstacles along the way.
You know... Not knowing what the plot is or just not knowing what the film is in general... Is how you know... Most films are supposed to leave you hyped!?

Half of the movies sometimes are mostly ruined because people have leaked most of the story.
Remember back in the day when they leaked the ending of Terminator salvation, where they were going to remove John Connor's face and put it on Marcus Wright's face and then he was going to turn evil and murder everyone?
People lost their shit when that ending was leaked, So Warner Brothers had to last minute, Change the entire new ending and the one we got in salvation basically changed everything that the original linked one was supposed to be.
So how about Cool your Jets and be patient? When we see a physical trailer And poster, That's when we can lose our shit and start to worry.

We're finally out of that era. We should stop worrying about it so much and enjoy the ride.
We're at the Marvel phase 1 era of it. History will run its course, And ultimately people will get video game fatigue, And basically something else will take it over...

I think by plot people don't mean the actual story, what they are talking about might be what the story is even going to be about, which is usually the first or second thing that gets exposed within a story, not the events that will happen in it. From what I see people say, I believe that is what they mean when they say they wanna know the plot.

I’m going to guess that the movie plot is that they go on a long expedition and try and beat the ender dragon. They would probably go on all sorts of adventures, beat a raid, find new friends (that’s what Dawn could be) and fight lots of mobs. I wonder how the mobs would look.
this has got to be the most confusing movie ive seen also the fact we have these blocky sets like a live action mushroom trees and background but no animation has got to be one of the most insane ideas in the filmmaking history but i actually also like them

I'm genuinely so excited for this; There's a million and one different stories that they could tell with this, Minecraft is basically just a fantasy setting you can project a story onto... the Minecraft books did a lot of really cool things that while yes you could definitely put those exact stories nearly word for word into a generic fantasy world are special because of the Minecraft touch and creatures and mechanics that make up the world-
Whatever they end up deciding to do, I know that it'll probably be great due to the boundless creativity they could pour into this xd

They should reference dantdm , pewds , captain sparklez and some other content creators that made minecraft so big , also minecraft is no more heavily watched on yt as it was during 2019 so I hope this revives that energy within the community

I really hope they have to go on an adventure, on demand from some wise villager, and have to enter caves, and you'll have encounters with the Warden like something you'd see in LoTR with the Moria mines. Obviously I hope they kill the wither and maybe a raid, but most important of all the Ender Dragon.
1:32 That was the plot for an older version of the Minecraft movie, back when it was supposed to come out in 2022 (originally it was supposed to come out 2019).
Maybe it could be inspired from a Minecraft fan made Manga. There is a Manga, that students join in a gaming project that gets sent in VR block world and they get stuck. They cannot leave server and have to survive and beat the game.
Or telltale Minecraft story mode S3 as a movie, because company shut down.

Oh gosh what if in the movie they show that everything in Minecraft gaming history was canon in lore, like Skyblock, Prison survival, certain youtubers being founders of the world of minecraft, Herobrine and Notch, Skywars, Bedwars (Maybe there's a whole lotta stuff like that and Minecraft is a gladiatorial meritocracy world hahahaha), Eggwars, Death Tag, Speedrunner v Hunters... it's a horrifying world yet with beautiful sceneries and calming times. They should really emphasize on the vibe of Minecraft. Maybe it'll feel like the Lego Movie and more.

My best guess: Hollywood wanted in on 'Let's Play' and meme money because they're REALLY DESPERATE. To do a movie about Minecraft is actually genius for them, because Hollywood doesn't know how to make good plots anymore, so if they do a movie about Minecraft, which has no plot, theoretically it is impossible for them to screw it up.

"The ender dragon destroys the overworld" the plot is one guy in the server is hacking. He starts with going into creative mode and spawning the ender dragon, starts spawning withers and shit, giant zombie
The only way it can work as a live action is to either trapped in a game sort of plot or the minecraft world being a visual representation of people playing the game

The trees are likely physical because they are on the ground. A lot of the time everything near the actors or on the ground in less action filled scenes has to be practical, while everything in the distance can be green screened.
In an action scene where everything is constantly moving it doesn’t matter if a tree move a bit weirdly but it does if people are just standing around talking.
Minecraft Story Mode was the OG Minecraft movie. It was even on Netflix.

Minecraft movie plot:
first it starts as Steve waking up, this foreshadows what Steve will have to do in order to save the end.
Then he gets up, makes food and then Alex (Steve's soon to be wife) is introduced helping him make food. They eat and then zombies are attacking the village! Steve and Alex try to fend them off but are cornered. Then suddenly chris prat comes in to save both of them, he then guides them to his base where Mario is waiting. Mario gives them both a mushroom soup, then they setoff to the nether after Mario tells them to find blazes in there.
Steve and Alex have a hard time in the nether but eventually get the rods, they are then attacked by endermen (which they kill which gives them the needed amount of eyes of ender) then they go back to Mario and Mario makes the eys of ender, Mario then tells them that they will need to defeat the ender dragon from how to train your dragon.
Steve and Alex locate the end with difficulty, they are then fighting the ender dragon. An epic battle commences in which Alex almost dies, Steve has to sleep in the bed to gain the power to kill the dragon! Steve kills the dragon but at a cost of him sleeping forever.
The movie ends with Alex saying "I'm sorry I never confessed my feelings earlier" and then Lady Gaga sings a song at the end.

I for one hope that the story this movie will be about will be entirely different from any game or book or whatever minecraft we have already seen.
Minecrafts world can be used to create literally any story that you want so taking an already existing one and adapting it to live action would be a missed opportunity.
With this cast I’d assume it would be some kind of comedy.
