On the land i hunt there is a bird who has been around fer 8 years the 4 land owners on the hill side confirm it he is the boss the others will change routs when he makes a nosie he seems to know what a blind is and dont come to decoys at least past 50 yards from it im a traditional bow hunter and 30yrds is limit im most comfortable with so 50 to far the soft calls and wines and leaf scrating l hold him at 50 fer like 10 min at a shot my question is how would yall hunt such a bird .
This bird csn actually call the other big tom off a set up so hes my goal before season ends at the end of may i would greatly appreciate any advice yalls experience can give me

@@mr.c2763 I believe it’s to give the hens a chance to get to there eggs undisturbed. No pressure by hunters. I believe other states have the same rule.

I have harvested more than 200 spring gobblers, always listen to other hunters, I started hunting turkeys in the late 60's. I think there was 6 turkeys in the Land Between
The Lakes the first time I got one. It was an indiguence bird ( before they released a nother strain to increase breeding habits. Of course Harold Knight and David were two of the 6 that killed one. I am lucky to be friends with both. I listened to both of them. They hunt much different. So I was lucky to learn from both of their styles. Harold is a pecking order guy and David is a woodsmenship guy. They are the best in the world at their own styles. The moral of this rambling is listen to all the turkey hunters around you. Turkey hunters love to tell their stories. Even unsecesful hunts from beginners , you can learn lots.
Biggest experience with afternoon hunting is cuts and purrs bc that limbhanger will come in silent. Eyes peeled
