Economy is stalling because of housing bubble the Govt allowed housing to get out of hand, allowed fake mortgages, let people buy multiple properties. Now payments are going higher and people don’t have any $ to spend.

People should also relook at their on balance sheet and off load some debt to match the income even if one has to book some losses in short run but in longer run they will benefit as the interest rate are not going to come down in near future 3-4 years, so no use keeping cash flow negative assets as they are going to bleed them and that can lead to their financial death.
