- After the phenomena of the hardware FX unit Zen Delay, its virtual successor is now available. ZDV is not simply a digital replica or replacement of the hardware, but an addition to it. Quite apart from the complete automation possibilities afforded by the DAW environment, ZDV brings several new functions into play to become a studio secret weapon for all possible instruments.

Is there a demo to try? On how many computers can 1 license be installed?
I don't think any of my delay vsts have a built in bitcrusher 👀.

how is it , that this demo sounds no where near as good as the black stereo delay module? its all digital isn't it ? I have the eoromodule , its my fav delay , so ii would be up for trying this out , you dont do a demo version do you ?

I'm kinda sad this is now a plugin because I had my heart set on buying the hardware. I need to justify buying the hardware and this makes it hard lol

Hands-on feel of the hardware is very good. I can see myself getting the plug-in as well for convenience though.
Yeah, as said by others above. Hard and software versions have the same DNA, but are different beasts. If you want a sound all over your 500 tracks project, you reach for the plug-in. If you want hands on access in your liveset, get the hardware. It is magical.
There’s nothing quite like a real tube sound and those lovely big knobs 😂

its not just a delay. its an unique multi fx including filter, overdrive, noise, bitcrusher, modulation, sample&hold.
if it's a good quality plugin, it's a good quality plugin and it'll cost an amount of money. if you can't afford it, use free ones or buy ones that are closer to your budget.
free for Zen Delay hardware owners... right?... right?
Why would they even consider it to be free for hardware users?
@@leefchapman well, I mean, customer loyalty and satisfaction for example, they wouldn't be the first synth manafacturer to give free upgrades on expensive gear. I wasn't actually expecting it to happen though, it was a joke - I think most people with the hardware would also love the plug in.
@@robotriddims does eventide do the same after thousands spent on their hardware? Not saying a company could or should do what you are asking but it's just unheard of unless you can share otherwise.

but I think the most important bit you are missing here was the "it was a joke" part. I was just messing about.
I have the hardware & to my ears, I like the plugin but it sounds a lot more muddy. There's a warmth & separation to the hardware unit I have, as well. It colors everything you put through it in a really pleasant way without it losing detail & clarity. This doesn't really have that. Like i said, not knocking it but just confirming it is very different than the hardware. I still want it but think I'd use it as a temporary measure to get down ideas..then I'd record with the hardware manually, for any final print's of tracks.
you keep telling youself that Jay, to warrant your 500 quid purchase... i compared this to my mates hardware could barely tell the difference
@@saren6538 that's your opinion. Like buttholes we all have one so perhaps try respecting others before you speak condescendingly to them. There's value in being able to agree to disagree. I could say something condescending back but it's not worth wasting my time nor energy. Instead if you're happy with the plugin, that's all that matters, so be happy.
