    I'd normally add the service loop at the top with the loop extending aboce the F connector. This ensures that if any water gets into the cable, it does not feed down beyond the loop.

    I would add some Dielectric grease to the connections of the Baulen to the antenna and to the Baulen connected to the cable. What this will do is weatherproof the connections.

    Where do you buy the baulen fittings from and is there a correct way to hook it up I. E a positive and negative? Cheers

    Yeah but how where do you place it on the roof?

    • @MartyMcFryyy

      Depending on yr roof, there are multiple ways, internally, externally, around a chimney, off the top of the Ridge caps,anchored down via three points, off a wall with a stand off bracket, off timber barge board with a t bracket, or just a plain old base plate that screws down on a metal roof or sandwiched around a roof tile, gotta pick what suits yr roof type and distance from and signal strength/type from yr nearest tower.

    Cables ties actually crush the coax cable and make it an ellipsoidal shape causing a wave or ripple effect.
    Really bad advice....

      You shouldn't do them up anywhere near that tight, just barely enough to hold the cable.

      @@DigitaltvhelpAu I agree. Cable ties are OK on coax as long as they are not too tight. I use cable ties and electric tape on my installations.

    This antenna has a band I section which is totally useless and attracts unwanted interference.
    A straight band III digital antenna is best for capital cities - not these old dinosaur things.....

    • @DigitaltvhelpAu
      @DigitaltvhelpAu  Před 5 lety

      Indeed, that's correct. My recommended antenna for Australian Capitals is a Fracaro Band 3 Log Periodic. However if people still have an old one like these laying around, in 99.9% of cases it'll work fine.

      @@DigitaltvhelpAu A yagi like a Fracaro Terza works better and that`s from experience.

      @@Homeo67 Yeah that's my usual recommended type of antenna.
