- This recipe of making Maas ko Dal is as authentic as it can get. One of our favourites and we really enjoyed preparing the Authentic Thakali Thali and eating it too. We hope you enjoy the recipe and video as much as we did making it.
Ingredients:

Maas ko Dal: 1 and half cup
Water : 3-4 cups
Turmeric Powder: half a teaspoon
Ghee: 2 tbsp
Ginger paste: 1tbsp
Salt: to taste
You can also add a little bit of ghee at the end while boiling.

What was the powder used in aalu ka achaar?
It is Sesame powder… I normally roast the sesame seeds on a frying pan and grind it in mixer… but you can also use Flaxseed powder or Bhang ko powder…

Thank you for the comment. Sorry i didn’t write the recipe for the aloo ko achar. As in the video. 3-4 boiled medium potatoes 1& half red onions 3 -4 table spoons of ground sesame. Salt to taste chilli powder & fresh chilies as per your liking . Saute it with hot oil with fenugreek seeds (methi) and 1 table spoon of turmeric powder.. mix them well and add half a lemon juice and fresh coriander.. I hope you like the recipe..

Ghee is a preference …. Very common among thakali but putting ghee on rice doesn’t make it authentic thakali..!!!
