Yo mad respect for showing the entire hustle it’s never just roses and daisies when you buy a bike in conditions similar to that and some people don’t have all the resources.
Bought a 03 zx6r this time last year, went on friday night and thought it was a hour ride to another local city. dude actually lived 2 hours away out in the county and it poured rain on us the entire time. I looked at it in the dark, in a thunder storm ,made a deal an got a hotel room and tried to wait out the rain. Went back the next morning and paid for it and rode it home in the rain. I rode it home in the pouring rain last friday, got lucky and it was diamond in the rough. Maxys situation was terrible tho lol

I got sv1000 almost the same year. This looks 2001, I got the 2003, started my project in November and all I got left is the tires and fender kit, everything else is gold. Good luck with yet again another crazy project.
All my bikes have been rebuilt by me and the satisfaction of having a motorcycle you get to build is cool af you can fix it just depends on what you plan on the future of the bike to be

You have to screw the spark plugs into the cylinder maxi. It's called a spark plug socket. Mostly a 5/8 u can get a cheap socket kit from Menards or Wal Mart for less than $30 with all the sockets you will really use and also wrenches and screwdriver bits ect

It looks like it's fuel injected and the thing on the bottom of the tank ( the round thing with a plugin ) is the fuel pump, for you to be able to ride it the injectors will need to be pressurized by the fuel pump. It's not a carburetor so you cant just gravity feed it gas like that. You can get it to run for a sec with starter fluid but you wanna ride it then it needs that tank.
That bike is so extremely fun to ride, I can’t wait to see it finished, I wish CZcams would allow me to post a picture of my beast
Gas line or a pc. of small diameter tubing works great to start spark plugs if you don't have a socket.

hey bro if the bike doesn't start check the ignition my k3 had an aftermarket ignition key switch and there is anti theft resistor B.S. built in to it once I replaced it with an oem and not the pos ebay ignition switch and my bike started no problem... btw yours is more put together than mine was lol

Roost Squid Obviously the Spark plugs have to been put ALL THE WAY in first before the Ignition Coils, then it should be able to reach the pistons and turn over the engine. Maxy is doing everything else right🤘🏽

Dude sorry your having problems. But the towing was just funny AF I was laughing so hard. Was pretty sketchy, but entertaining. I really started to cringe with all the gas on the ground and you checking spark. Glad all is well. I know its older vid but if you ever have a rusty tank issue again, You just get some Ajax and water and dump some of the Ajax in the tank and then put some water in it and switch it around, the Ajax will scrub the crap out of the tank and then take some cheap rubbing alcohol and dump in it and thst will dry the water up so you can fill it with fuel right away just a tip in case you ever have this issue again it's only takes a few minutes for the Ajax to clean the tank and the rubbing alcohol dries water up instantly you just dump it in and then dump it out you could even put the tank infront of another bikes exhaust to speed up the alcohol dissolving process and it would be ready to use right away, just make sure you remove the fuel pump like I think that tank had :) I'm sure you probably know this stuff but just in case you or anyone watching in the future might be looking for how to fix the issue😊 ps I wish I could find deals like these in my area haha here in PA there isn't any deals and everyone thinks they have pure gold haha in the west bikes are much more prevalent so there more for sale 😞 here they want 5k for a cbr600 or a ninja 300 they want 3k it's stupid crazy expensive I mean who in the world thinks their 2004 300 ninja is worth 3k lol not even if it was in brand spanking new condition haha I been trying to find a smaller bike for the wife but I'd prefer something like you got your girl so she can keep up but not hurt her, that way she feels confident not worried 👍😊

You cannot gravity feed a fuel injected bike the fuel line and fuel injectors need pressure might work though
Because what I'm about to do to hopefully both of my Suzuki is bi a inline fuel pump and a inline fuel pressure regulator I don't think they need fuel pumps I just think this will kick the power up just a tad plus I have a weird science project on conducting hey get a book then by the pump and the regulator

Dump 4 gallons of vinegar in the tank and leave it overnight. It will break up the rust out of the tank when you pour it out. Then put acetone in to wash it out and whatever doesn’t come out will evaporate

David Schirch I don’t think the 2001-2002 had immobilizes yet since the key as you see is just bare metal it doesn’t have a chip on it

You could hear that it had no compression from the 1st video. Then low and behold the spark plugs arent even screwed into the cylinder head
How could you tell no compression? When I tried to start it the bike jumped. Then when getting towed I put it in first and was able to use first gear to slow down.
@@MADMAXY neither of those have to do with no compression. Ever noticed how when you go to start a motor you can hear thumping. That's air being pushed out the exhaust pipe as the motor turns it should be sucking in air and pushing it out. When you went to start it all you hear is a whirring sound because air is not being compressed inside the engine and then released. All you hear is the starter motor whirring away.
