I just think he's not really comfortable with being interviewed but he will do it.
Also, Brits aren't known for being all warm and fuzzy...and he is a more traditional-style Brit.
I think the media was being harsh on him for a story. They don't care whose lives they hurt as long as they get readers and viewers.

I love Hugh Grant. He may have seemed rude at the Oscars, but he answered all her questions and was being completely honest. The Academy awards are a joke. Some of the richest people on the planet giving each other awards has always seemed, to me, like an awkward and entitled spectacle. It looks like Hugh Grant could see through the ridiculousness of it all and I really appreciate his honesty and lack of tact. It’s not the same as award winning in school where you are given something to strive for. It’s a chance for a small, privileged group of people to show off and is completely out of place in today’s world.

to be fair though...whenever i go to america there were always way worse stories than we have in the uk. I remember in 2018 a magazine at the airport was all 'queen on deathbed. charles and camilla plot a coux' and such. and i was like...how the heck are these made up stories printed?!

I've just gotten done looking at every possible interview I can look at with this man and I just have to say I just adore him! I love every movie he's ever been in and I've been a fan ever since the very beginning and even through the little "blip" that he had mid-career. I adore that he's become a dad later in life and I love his wonderful British sense of humour. If you are offended by it you just don't understand it. I wish so much that he would do another rom-com. You can do those at his age and have them be successful. Please Hugh???
My nine year old daughter started jujitsu. She’s been in it for about eight months. She’s already a gray belt and she’s pretty awesome at it. I took her out of dance because she didn’t really like it. She wanted to try jujitsu and it has become a family thing. We love it we love going to competitions on the weekends and seeing her hand, get raised, going against boys that are a few pounds heavier than her is the best feeling in the world, knowing that she will be able to defend her self if needed takes a lot of stress off of a parent

Well, anyway, Hugh’s testimony for the inquiry is worth a watch. He made the point in the inquiry that the incident with the hooker is something the press could/ should report on. He was a public figure that was arrested. He distinguished that from the invasion into the privacy of public figures, the fabricating of stories and the lengths the press go to and are allowed to go to obtain stories. Plus, he was witty at times. The deference shown to him, and he to the court was also refreshing. A junior behind one of the lead counsel that was clearly star struck was cute to see.
From what I understand, the National Enquirer was set up by British tabloid hacks.

N I'm sorry but Ashley ( I think it's her name🤷🏽♀️) wasn't a great interviewer. I cringed more at how she asked her questions and expecting him to carry the interview for her. You can tell she isn't that experienced with conversation or wit in stressful /fast paced situations. Maybe don't have models doing interviews. There are so many people that actually go to school for journalism and TV. Give them a chance to put it to use!
