Ahhhh love you for another video for 🫒 us green ladies.
🥹💚
Só a Alex cuida de nós assim tão bem ❤
Yes! Alex is THE ONLY creator who cares about us green girls! 🥰
Incidentally, I'm Italian. What's everybody else?
I'm gonna go out on a limb here but I'm thinking Ms. Alex may be Italian, too. She "talks" with her hands, which is a huge Italian thing. 😁 She also has Italian features. Of course I could be completely wrong. There are several ethnicities that have the olive green undertone. 🤷🏻♀️
@@deniece0821Italian here,too,and a fair cool olive.
Clever video title 😉
Could you do a full olive skin series? I’m so lost on what contour to use, what eyeshadow colours are ‘natural looking’ for me. They’re all too warm!!!
I almost always go for a metallic or glittery sort of taupe shadow , just feels more forgiving
Contours, cream: ritual de fils intuition and powder: Sephora own brand 01.
Contour and bronzer swatches would be nice !! Thanks !
Yes!
Yes!
Agree!
Yep great idea! Very difficult to find the perfect bronzer let alone contour when you have an olive undertone. I noticed on my complexion orangey bronzers are horrible, slightly neutral golden is duable but for summertime a redish brown bronzer can look amazing but it's a tricky shade though if you overdo it. Keeping a light hand when applying it is key. But overal I prefer neutral brown nothing to cool or extremely warm (a hint of warmth is great as long as it's not orange based). Not sure about contour shades, they all look aweful on my complexion, to cool/muddy. Sometimes a neutral boring brownish blush can work as a natural looking contour depending on your skintone I think.
Keep in mind… the skill this woman has AND SHARES with these products in different situations
🥹😭 I love you
Such an interesting in-depth video, how you comprehensively test and review, in a detailed way, each and every concealer, Alex always goes above and beyond, far beyond what you'd expect one to go for content. 🙏🙏
🥹😭 Thank you! 🙏🏼💚
@@AlexandraAnele You're very welcome Alex. I appreciate the time, effort and skill it takes to put these videos together, these videos don't make themselves, you put the hours in, it's very easy to forget the process, and take it for granted as a viewer, that a new video will appear as if by magic, but it's your dedication not magic , it's so important to applaud that endeavor🙏
@@AlexandraAneleby the way you asked in this video if medium comes before tan. Yes it does, but I'm curious why would you asume it would be the other way around Alex? I have a medium complexion and tan shades would look straight up peanut butter or oompa loompa on me😂
I almost didn't watch this because I don't have olive skin and figured it wouldn't be applicable to me, but I watched it anyway and I"m SO glad I did because I actually learned a ton. Just seeing how different companies define "neutral", let alone "olive" was truly enlightening. And then watching how those swatched dried down vs initial application suddenly made my makeup world make more sense.
I didn't even know I was olive toned till I started watching your videos. Thanks for the reality check lmao
I’m olive with yellow tones too!
I can never find the right shade (at least on the affordable side), and any yellow toned foundation I get is just too yellow. My solution was to get a neutral pink tone foundation and add drops of green color corrector in and it worked wonders!✨
I use elf’s color correctors btw!
same i think gobi from nars is not bad its def yellow tho
Yup… Can also use blue corrector in too-warm foundations. I’ve started considering foundation based far less upon color match and now purchase based more on how much I like the formula, since I can usually add in blue or green and get a decent match on foundation.
@@swestttttyes a yellowy foundation usually just needs a blue pigment to make it more olive or neutral leaning. I can't fix pink based foundation because they usually already make me look casket ready to begin with😂so horrible. Can't fix a to light + to pink foundation but slightly darker (just half to 1 shade) as long as it's yellow is beter. However peach based foundations....hate them. Pink and peach are not workable at least for me.....
The elf green corrector is the ONLY one light enough for me 😂😂
@@emma_luce_0623 It probably does because it has a white base. For me that one from ELF is to white based.
I prefer the LA Girl green corrector specifically for medium/dark skintones because it's more vibrant/true olive because of the darker base. I'm not dark skinned at all but it works perfectly for me. Or in case I have them: the other LA Girl mixing pigments in blue and yellow together work as well but strange enough it does thicken foundations not sure why.
I usually use water based (very thin and runny) foundations so it's not that much of a problem but if you use a foundation that's thicker/creamier or oil based it might not work with these pigments
Your cat interrupting just to get your attention 😂 every time.
After we change the cat box. every.single.time
You are my Green Goddess! Thank you for helping me on this quest for fair olive complexion products! I'm in my 40s, so I come from a time before all of these fair foundations & concealers. In highschool & college, I had to use white mix-ins, because I was too light for the lightest in shade ranges. And, olive? That was unheard of for us fair people. I've struggled for years & spent way too much time & money trying every brand I could get my hands on. AND, now I don't have to anymore! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making these videos!!! 💚
Ps. You always have the cutest earrings!
You're always rocking killer earrings .
My swatch request is your 3 best olive concealers (kosas, nyx, luna) with your best foundation matches (especially about face)! People don't talk about how concealer on the face should match the foundation color otherwise the concealed area can become more noticeable instead of less- at least this is one of my issues with concealer as a fair olive person. So as i keep working to find my best matches, I swatch my concealers next to my foundations to see which work together and which don't. Is always eye opening! Btw, i am not any darker than you but I use the nyx bare with me light on my undereyes and it's perfect as concealer (amazing formula too), but i don't do much brightening.
thank you sooo much for doing these!! especially in the in-depth face-to-neck and shade by shade recap afterwards. makes it so much easier not having to scroll back through: "what shade did she mention??" would love to see more swatch vids like this with contour, bronzer, and blush!
Nyx bare with me actually works wonders as a foundation, so you have a pretty good foundation match there!
after watching your videos for years, i can FINALLY notice the color differences that you point out . i am a happy student !!!
Thanks for all your olive content! 💚🫒
I love these big swatch comparisons!
Yes. Do brozers please !
ugh i WISH whoever told you about about the NYX Bare with Me concealers would’ve recommended the shade Vanilla. it’s all over reddit & tiktok as THEE holy grail concealer for olive tones. i love it, and love this olive series of yours i genuinely wish i could’ve seen how it stacked up amongst all the other contenders. i hope you see this and at least try it out, let us know what you think! i’m not joking when i say it’s such ridiculously slim pickings for olive tones, and it’s the only concealer i ever saw recommended for us before Kosas came out. thank you so much for this!!
You taught me light olive exists, and I'm it. 😂 This makes sense why my Bare With Me and Tarte concealer are my favorite
I wish I could find someone on youtube with light medium olive undertones. I would score.
My mother used to say “sallow,” which I hated. I prefer saying light olive or medium ivory. It is more descriptive and “poetic” sounding. 😁
Sallow 😭 Yes. I'm always told I look tired. The peril of olive skin! The magic of concealer 😊
@@Plantlady82 I held a white tissue next to my neck just now and it is clear that I am decidedly green. 🤢 If I had a dress that color, I would definitely call it very light green. Is that an undertone of blue in the ivory? It’s so confusing as there is so much peach in my face.
Literally yesterday I was looking for videos on olive tone concealers and couldn’t find anything satisfactory and here you are. Exactly what I’m looking for 😭❤️
Love love love these types of videos! Just recently started using The Performer from AboutFace in the F2🫒 and it fits very well. I’m more of a neutral olive so I’m either neutral most of the time, or in the neutral warm category with brands that don’t carry any specific 🫒s. I also agree that Elf NEEDS TO DO BETTER with being less inconsistent.
You should start a cult and call it The Green Goblins Unite 😂😂
Ive stuggled as a warm olive for years. I mixed shades. I loved learning from both this and foundation swatching vid. Thank you ❤
I am seeing a lot of pink but the O4neutral is perfect and the one before I love! You’re so awesome too do this! Thank you so so much!
Just wanna say "thank you" for sharing your content. You've answered so many questions I had about fair skin tones and because of you I found out I'm a green girl too 😂🥰 now I can make full-face glam looks just by adding a tiny drop of green concealer to my foundation. You've leveled up my makeup game. Thank you so much, dear. A hug from Brazil. 💐
Wow thanks so much for that!! Really helpful. I will have to watch your foundation swatch video.
Alex thank you sooooo much for this video!!! I needed it ❤
Awesome! Keep the swatch videos coming! ❤️
To add to this I’d love to see contour shades!! So hard to find good ones
This was so helpful thank you 🥹
I love the new Sephora Glow Concealer!!!! It’s sooooo moisturizing!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
This was so helpful! I would love to see a swatch series :)
Hi Alex, a bronzer swatch video is a must! 🎉
I’m a new subscriber struggling with creasing and covering up my dark under eye areas. I’ve tried them all. You’re the best, thank you!
YES THANK YOU I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Thank you for this video it was so helpful!!!!! ❤
Thanks for this! Great informative video! FYI, Well Rested started life as an eyeshadow, and people just started using it "off label" to conceal.
Thank you for this!
I'm cool fair, but I learned a lot from this. Makes me want to swatch and analyze like you did in different lighting. Thank you!
Thanks again! And about those earrings 😍 I need those!
Out here doing the lords work for the olives! Thank you!
Thanks Alexandra for this vidéo😀😀😀
Great video. ❤ love to see more eye looks
Thanks so much for this video you surely helped me choose my next concealer 😁😁 would be great if we could see swatches of contour and bronzers too ❤❤
Contour and bronzer swatch for sure. Now off to buy that Nyx grey concealer!
I really do appreciate the depth you go into for this free content Alex, it's insane how much work you put into these - thank you.
Also, it's so frustrating that I'm British and can't get a lot of brands you have access to - and living in Dubai it seems the shade ranges change depending on what continent you're on. Here in the Middle East there's literally nothing for us light olive girlies - it's all very warm.
I probably should've looked at the makeup in Japan when I was there a few weeks ago. Damnit lol. Oh well, I'll try and see if I can somehow get my hands on that Kosas 0.5N as it looks like it'd be the perfect shade for me. Again, thank you for being our Olive-saviour!!
The way I just love your moniker “Alex&ra” ooooo obsessed
I recommend trying the Smashbox concealer in their olive tones! I’m a warm olive and I feel like it matches me perfectly 😊🫒
I think i might try this with all mine - its such a good idea!
Thanks , as ever
THANKS for the about face foundation recommendation! I got mine is soooo good and the best match of all my foundations
You are so special and natural... I love to see your videos 'cause you are YOU, not pretending to be an influencer or something like that but YOURSELF.
Makes me feel good ❤
( Sorry if my English is not correct, I keep learning :)
I needed you to blend all those in together at the end so bad. Waiting at the edge of my seat for that moment and I’ll be here for a while hoping this video isn’t actually over 😭
Kosas has olive shades in their concealer! Ilia also released an olive shade in the Serum Skin Tint that is pretty good.
I have olive undertones from Kosas & I love the formulation, aside from their terrible preservative system; which means their products go off in 3 months or so...Depending on the products.
I’m surprised Alex hasn’t tried those yet.
Natasha Denona has olives, but the one I picked up was a bit too dark for my skin tone unfortunately. I tend to mix my concealers anyway or add blue or green pigments. Sorry for blabbing.
@@PinCushionQueen I know, I really wish Kosas would add some preservatives! Their shades and formulations are so great but end up smelling terrible in a few months. The Ilia tint has a few shades of olive - the one I have is too lightand I end up looking like a ghoul, but the next shade is too dark. Have you tried the About Face foundation? I've been meaning to go to Ulta to give it a try.
What pigments do you use?
yay!! a win for the olive toned girlies
Of course the swatching looks like an art masterpiece, what else could we expect from Alex?! 💯
I’m not even olive toned and I watched this. I know I’m not alone in that either hahaha
Yes these swatch videos are pretty cool! I have loreal infallible and it was able to serve as a bench mark to get a better match. 😊
U make me laugh, love it! Your awesome 😊
love these videos alex, you always give the best insight! not done watching yet but oooo that kosas (0.5N) one! i may need to pick that up. (i’d say im a light neutral olive. my perfect base match is the missha bb cream in light 23!)
I'm not olive but I just love these videos. In depth, up close, good vibes, all the knowledge... I love this channel.
I thought it was very interesting. I have a hard time determining undertones of things, so it was helpful to hear your descriptions, since you have an artist's eye.
Because of your video with the olive foundation I finally found my perfect match! About Face came through for me 😁 It only took me 15 years to find my olive skin match ❤ ty so much!
Have you tried the saem tip concealer? They have a green beige I’ve been eyeing
No! But I'm looking it up now, thank you for sharing!
I use the NYX serum concealer in light and compared to it the Saem is a bit dark unfortunately. Apart from that it truly is a nice muted green for olive skin tones 💚
@@beautea1796 agree, but the saem is nice to conceal red blemishes underneath foundation, or mix into foundation!
@@AlexandraAnele Iypyre welcome :) i already use their 1.75 and peach for pinpoint concealing but the green is new to me. FYI I mix with k sunscreen to thin it out and for adherence sans drying
You’re welcome*
Do you think you could make a video on how to adjust the shade of a current foundation/concealer and what products you recommend? Like a sequel to your custom foundation video! Thank you for always doing the absolute MOST for us fair olives!
Somehow everyone seems to have missed the NYX Bare With Me Concealer shade in [2.5 - Medium Vanilla].
This shade will work perfectly for you when e.g. Fair is too light, Light is too pink and Vanilla too orange!
Thank you so much for these videos.
I've got fair olive skin on the neutral-cool side. My dark circles are an arc of vibrant purple transitioning into purple-green (I don't know how that's possible, but it's there). I don't even know where to begin with concealer.
I've only recently started trying to find foundation again, and finally figured out that my skin is olive after two decades of makeup confusion. There's some serious color correcting in my future, and I'm not giving up this time.
Thank you for the inspiration, the reminder to keep trying, and the work you do for us.
P.S. Bronzers, please!
Tarte concealer is extremely good. ♥Im with u on it even though I have brown skin :)
I finally bought revlon buff after your last foundation swatch video (I was a little worried about the chemical SPF in it) and it’s so olive and such a good match!! I also love about face F2 olive
Can't thank you enough for these olive videos. Not many resources for us green ladies. Especially those on the lighter side, companies don't seem to think we exist!
I had the saaame problem with the Elf concealers. I found a perfect shade match in the camo concealer but wanted it in the hydrating formula and the hydrating one in the same shade was like 2 shades too dark!
Thank you for the video
I appreciate this video so much. I have never been able to find the right shade of concealer! Turns out you and I have very similar skin tones so your videos are sooooo useful! I bought the about face foundation in the shade that matched your skin best and it’s perfect! ALSO is your ear okay?
From a peach skin girlie I will check out the frenty one. I love these Videos and have learnt so much from you 🙌🙌🙌
❤🎉😮 Oh Alex!! I tried watching this twice I fell asleep both times 😂. It's your calming voice!!! But I LOVE the content and will persevere as I am a Light Yellow in tone but also very similar to you (green veins, I look dead in pink, the whole nine yards etc lol). So I shall keep watching in chunks when I'm hopefully more awake hah!! 😅😊
Thanks so much in general but also for all those swatches and your explanations -- it helps me know I'm not crazy !! 😁
❤🤩🤗
Wow that was fascinating. The Nyx bare with me in light is my perfect foundation shade. Also, love that Jecca Blac concealer. It looks so smooth and full coverage. How does the Jecca Blac look and wear?
Thank you!! Those About Face foundations work so well for me!! I mix the L2olive and the F2olive for the best shade right now. Do they do a concealer in an olive you would recommend?
Thank you so much, your knowledge has helped me more in the last few years, than my attempts at makeup in the last 40 years! I'll be 55 this year, UGH!!!😜
Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
I’ve been using 170w as a foundation for a while since it’s the closest I’ve been able to get to my skin (but it still usually shows up a little too yellow). Your swatches confirmed that I wasn’t going crazy so thank you
I ordered Luna concealer just today. Started watching your video to decide if I should get that Nyx concealer and I was so surprised to see you review Luna! You are the best! 💚
btw if the shade from Luna that you have is 01 (vanilla) than just know that they have two lighter shades 0.7 and 0.5 too
I am a light olive with warm undertones. Kosas concealers have blown my mind. 3.2 O is the first time I’ve ever had a perfect match.
I’m so proud of them for doing some TRUE olive colors 🙌🏼
Love this, I only wish you had all concealers available to try since there are others I’m curious about. I’m really hoping Lisa Eldridge gives us a fantastic fair olive concealer soon. I’d love to see a bronzer comparison, esp if you can include a more yellowish bronzer like the Hermes to compare to more neutral bronzers like TF Terra.
Im yellow n warm undertoned but i love ur videos 😂
Bronzer & contour wld be great!
Alex, I use light peach front elf as a color corrector! It has a peachier undertone that works better for dark circles. I use fair warm as my skintone foundation. But I can’t use the same shades from the matte line cause they all look too neutral on me. I wish Kosas was available in my country cause that 0.5 looks so good
When are you going to make olive based makeup for us ☺️i would purchase instantly ! ❤
I've never bought anything from any celeb/influencer range, but I'd sure as hell buy Alex's.
Yes!!!! That would be amazing!
SECONDED. Olive shades for everyone from fair to deep, please!
I have fair cool olive skintone and the Kosas 0.5N and 1N are my go to concealers! I use the 1N for my undereyes and 0.5 for the rest of my face and it's a perfect match to my skintone and recommend them for fair olive peeps
❤Thank you for sharing❤
can i just say.. i know this was about concealer but i LOVEEE your earrings!!
Having seen all these, I think the Givenchy N80 might be for me. I'm a fair cool olive. I might need to get that super pink one and mix them. That's what I figured out from your foundation video! Mixing fair olive with fair cool get me my perfect match ... and I'm forever grateful to FINALLY know!
Tarte Shape Tape in light sand is my go to concealer, so I'm wondering if some these shades might also work on my skin tone. I think I might try the L'Oreal, since it's so similar in tone.
have you ever tried mixing in a green color corrector into your more neutrally concealers?? i know you have for foundations but i wonder if mixing would help esp w spot concealing in areas that arent on the cheeks and such where you're bronzing + blushing etc.
I've really been enjoying the Lisa Eldridge skin tint in shade 5. Pretty good olive! Apparently she's coming out with concealers so I'm betting she'll have olive shades as well! ❤
I am a fair/light neutral warm-leaning olive and I started using the unleashia bye bye blemish concealer in the shade 1.5 cornsilk and LET. ME TELL YOU. It’s my perfect match. Got it on Amazon for $9.50, the only catch is that it’s small at .09 oz, but that’s fine with me and the formula is a beautiful satin finish
With the elf concealers I also have found that they’re super orange or pink and it totally depends on matte vs hydrating. I find the mattes skew more olive and the matte elf concealer in light beige is pretty olive!! (Testing it now and it oxidises to be orangey, false alarm) While it’s probably a little orange for some really olive people my go to o concealer that I basically wear as foundation (so it’s not super light or brightening) is the dior backstage foundation in 2n or 1n if you want lighter
wish you’d try catrice concealers
And yes bronzers for olives. If you have any recs for cool olives, that’d be great. Most pull waaay to orange on me 😅
I find this very interesting bc Haus . Labs is a good match for me as a cool olive in the fair range. As well as NYX light. so it’s interesting that you say that 04 is very pink and very blue when in fact being a cool olive, that’s what we are looking for. We need more blue in the neutral to make it olive rather than more yellow in the neutral to be olive. I hope that makes sense.
I had to read that title 3 times until i finally got itb😂
😂
That Kosas .05 looks like it’d be a fantastic color for foundation for me. I’m not actually wild about the Revealer Concealer formula myself (everyone raves over it, I find that it starts to smell off quickly, and it can be sort of dry looking IMO) but man if they make a corresponding foundation color, I might have to check it out.
I checked out the brand Luna on amazon and they have 4 colors as of now. I may have to get one.
I sure do love your earrings.
where’s the snake chain necklace from? i love the length & undertone of your jewelry ✨
