@@elzwino Yeah, very difficult to tell from these clips. It's why I prefaced by saying if his defensive positioning is good, then he could be a top player. But it showed very little of his defensive ability.
@@elzwinohonestly his defensive work is not great but he plays as a number 8 so there are players like bruno, kdb, pedri etc who also have the same role but don't have amazing defensive abilities. He deserves a good team and he's a class player. Teun Koopmeiners recently moved to Atlanta and he's been class in the serie A since joining. He was also playing in the eredivisie before that
@@omaari155 Schouten is a different player. Has the same ball skill/control I would say, but less of a long pass. Veerman is really a passer like Scholes for example, like a deep lying playmaker. Schouten is a very skillful defensive midfielder. High pass accuracy, good functional technique to just do what's necessary. Passes the ball forwards whenever he can. And compared to Veerman he has much more duelling power, a good tackle and great awareness. I rate him quite a bit higher than Veerman in terms of potential and the way he can adapt to multiple competitions. He already played a few seasons abroad at Bologna where he was one of the most important players. Veerman only played in the Dutch league and it will be interesting to see how he would adapt to a new environment.
