    Hello Gianluca,
    Just when I needed, thank you so much!!! Hopefuly you remember me, I am preparing for my MCAT now and just like eveyrone, I started with CARS, I do it everyday but when 1 day I miss, because of school, my guiltiness kicks in. All I can say is that, right now, I am at the beginning stage and it frustrates me to see when I get like 3-4 questions wrong in a passage untimed that I thought I understood well enough :(.... I really hope I can see the progression in my CARS.
    You are a big help! Thank you once again!!!

    • @nxtgenmd
      @nxtgenmd  Před 2 lety +3

      Hi Arpita, of course I remember you :D MCAT study guilt/anxiety or whatever you want to call it is a very normal experience for many students. I myself unfortunately had a pretty rough go with it a fw years ago now. All this to say, that the frustration will be part of the process, but it will get better 💪
      Regarding CARS, you are going to have good days and bad days. Sometimes you'll be distracted and really won't be able to get any questions right even though the day before you may have been doing very very well. The key is to get back to your desk the next day and not be discouraged. Most students I have worked with have seen noticeable improvement with consistency and I suspect that this will apply to you as well!
      Best of luck and don't be too hard on yourself!!

    Hi There, thanks so much for such a clear, progressive plan for this; it's definitely helping to calm the anxiety for this particular section to have some very specific guideposts and milestones to aim for; just wanting to confirm something; for steps 1&2 you'd said to aim for 5x in a row (or as comfortable) before moving on; for steps 3A onward, should that follow the same way? This may be obvious and perhaps redundant; just wanted to double check

    Hi! Not sure if you’ll see this but I was wondering if you could clarify something for me? For Step 1, should I be doing as many untimed passages ( ≈ 5) within the 90 minutes or is it 1 untimed passage a day? You said we can move on to Step 2 when we can do 4-5 passages at 80% in a row, so I’m confused whether “in a row” means 1 passage a day for 5 days at 80% or 5 passages a day at 80%. Seems like a solid plan so I just wanted to make sure I am following it correctly.😊

    • @nxtgenmd
      @nxtgenmd  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Jackson :) For step 1 I'd recommend doing as many passages as possible within the 90 minutes of studying per day. You will move on to step 2 once you can "comfortably" achieve a score of 80% on these untimed passages which I've estimated as "doing 4-5 passages in a row while keeping your accuracy in the 80% range."
      Best of luck!

  • @QuickLearnScience
    @QuickLearnScience Před 2 lety +2

    90min a day is that like the time doing cars wihout reviewing? Or is it plus review? Cause I can do 1-2 cars like 30 min and spent like an hour or so on review. Or you do as many cars as possible within 90min and review them after 90min

    • @nxtgenmd
      @nxtgenmd  Před 2 lety +1

      90 - 120 min per day total (as a maximum) was what I allotted and what I recommend to students - this is to be done 6 times per week. As you progress, your efficiency with review will improve 🤙

      Hi Wizzo :) I will be writing the MCCQE 1 on May 15. Before then, our school will be giving us a few lectures on the test itself as well as how to study properly. Once I'm comfortable with all of that, I'll happy make a video for everyone. Best of luck in the meantime!

    What is your opinion on medical admission consulting companies?

    • @nxtgenmd
      @nxtgenmd  Před 7 měsíci

      Some people need the help and there are many good companies out there with a staff of doctors and medical students who have been through the process. I think unfortunately, this is especially true for people without friends or family who have been through the admissions process since there’s a lot that I know now that I didn’t before. On the other hand though, many people will do fine without them. I think it’s a case by case decision that everyone should make, but if you choose to go with one, read the reviews first and shop around :)

  • @livimaria9350
    @livimaria9350 Před rokem

    Should this method be used with AAMC material only? bc with third party CARS like Uworld it’s hard to get 80% accuracy because their logic is weird sometimes.
