That’s a really big beautiful eBike. Thanks for reviewing it.
I ride both old styles and e-bikes, @ almost 62 I 'm still a kid @ heart. Keep up the great videos!!!!😊
That's awesome! Glad to hear!!! I love doing stuff like this, and really feel like a kid at heart too, although I'm learning that 40 is definitely NOT the new 25 LOL LOL LOL cry ;) But that's not gonna stop me from living it up!
Glad you're here with us, and thanks for the kind words!
This was probably the most enjoyable AND USEFUL E-Bike review and unboxing videos I’ve watched (after days of searching/watching). Thank you for your work and dedication to creating such informative content. And props to your “camera crew” as well.
Just bought my first e-bike. Love it. Wish I had done it sooner.
What a beauty….this bike is one of the prettiest bike I have seen thus far.
These high-powered bikes are the reason why they're regulating e-bikes
Thanks for sharing your insight
Lol, pretty evident you are new to bikes if you don't think they will spin out on you while riding. You just need the right amount of power but you have to pay $$ for that power. For a big guy, if you want hill climbing power I would recommend a dual motor setup. Try the Philodo H8 as a budget option or something similar to it....I think there is one called Zeegr(not shure) that will let you choose between running one or both motors at once if you want to save battery they both look just like a standard old mountain bike but with two 1,000 W Motors.
For single motor with good power try the Wired Freedom, it's 1200w at the rear but it's a 60 volt battery not a 48 like you're riding there. To get the most power out of that motor you need to provide it power. The Wired Freedom probably won't peel out on you either but it's hill climbing power is going to impress you and the h8 is going to blow your mind. The Wired Freedom is a nicer-looking bespoke frame bike. It will feel more quality. It's probably the best deal on the market for the quality versus power.
But get yourself a five or six thousand watt + bike and I'll be happy to come back and view your channel again. It will be nice to hear your thoughts then.
You are unbelievable Brian...thanks for the review
Thanks!!! You're welcome!
Great video, Brian. I'm really interested in this bike, currently owning a much cheaper 26" Ecotric that I'm having problems with. Will the seat go any lower than the height at which you had it during your riding demonstration? It looks like it could go down another couple of inches. Is that correct? Thanks.
Thorough review. Thanks!
Mrs Brian must be into the bikes and models, seeing the decoration in her kitchen! BTW she's pretty.
I assume you have videos with those cool models. I'm gonna check.
It's actually a pretty good looking ebike. Some brands are kind of goofy looking. Thanks for the ride along! I was concerned the BP battery was going to give out before the e ike battery did 😂
Hope you all had fun at RC fest 👍
We sure did! It was a blast, just putting the finishing touches on the video and rendering for upload now, at 2:12 AM - yeah, it's been a busy week!!! Kid's birthday tonight and he wanted to watch Top Gun 2 - LOL - like father, like son ;)
What the price to the e-bike?
@@BrianPhillipsRC 1:36:25 1:36:27
How do you charge the batteries?
Us pilots love these small types of bikes that can fold up and put in our baggage compartments in our small planes Don't run over that cat....he he
That is a cool feature I hadn't considered!
Small? this bike is huge and quite heavy!
That was a great video, but I would be scared to buy a e bike online when we have lots of local bike shops. But where you live that might be an issue. Thanks phillips crew for the fun.
Thanks, and I agree, having a good local Bike shop look it over would help a lot
It looks like you have a first generation X26. I just got my X26 last week. The batteries are now blended and you do not have to remove the smaller battery charge it.
Really? That's interesting! We just did this review, a few short months ago???
The newer version (which I have) also has a 3 minute limit on Sport mode. :(@@BrianPhillipsRC
E bikes have speed limiters on them... to keep them regulated as a bicycle not as a motorcycle... the wattage of the motor gives you the power but not the speed... the benefit of going up a grade without slowing down... the variables are your body weight and the grade will drain the battery at a faster rate.
awesome Video Too. Thanks....
Outstanding video!!.. appreciate the install footage of close ups usually missing from others. I love this bike but hill climbing struggle is only issue. Any possibility in addition front hub motor or upgrade of original motor? Would love to keep original wheels however. Thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! We try ;) As for the additional motor up front - THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!! We've been looking for a two wheel drive bike for a while now, and have found only a couple that offer such a feature, but they're super expensive, and at my weight...up hill is hardly possible without help from my legs.
Thanks for the feedback, and glad you enjoyed the content!
Brian. You would think they could add a small gen to the bike to put power back in the battery when you are moving. Give you a little extra range to boot. I use to ride bikes back in my youth and miss it. The E-bike has sparked my interest in riding again. P.S. Glad to see you folks got to attend Horizon Fest. That event is still on my bucket list. 👋😉
Thanks Brad, and yeah, I think they should be able to regenerate with breaking, but didn't see any setting on this one.
As for RC Fest, it was a blast, and Megan and I got to hang out with Nate and Abby (and their kids) and Pilot Ryan - it was very nice!!! (...but none of them bought me chicken nuggets, so you're still my favorite - LOL ;)
Ebikes are amazing, but they can be tough to pick. so many BAD choices out there, and many that are just plane over-priced, but to be honest, from my learning, get as powerful as you can afford, and you'll never regret more power, but if you want exercise, make sure it's got a pedal assist option, NOT just a throttle.
@@BrianPhillipsRC 👋😉
@@BrianPhillipsRC Brian. Thanks so much for the excellent advice on selecting an E-bike. I’ll be sure to take it all in consideration. Take care. 👍😊
Nice nerdy helmet OHHH YEAHHH😊
OHHHHHHH YEAHHHH!
Can you look at purchasing a ridstar dc26 . There are literally no videos on it, or the ridstar h20 pro. No videos. Thanks for the video
Just a thought would it have been easier to put the front wheel on with the bike upside down
Vídeo curto, gostei! 😅😂
I am not so happy.
.
I had seen a few ENGWE bikes in my neighbourhood and the owners seemed to be satisfied. I ordered a X26 and it arrived three weeks later and I have to admit that it was a bad buy.
Why?
The main problem is that the bike has a very late response from the throttle and the pedal-induced motor assistance. Both at the start and at the end of the motor assistance. This means that the electric motor only kicks in after 3 or more pedal strokes (sometimes vehemently). And it continues to push for what feels like seconds, even when you have long since wanted to coast or brake again. This misregulation alone makes it very difficult for most people and impossible for many to handle the e-bike. Other shortcomings are:
- There is no key with which to lock the e-bike. Other Engwe bikes have a key to lock the electric parts. You therefore have to buy an additional lock, which adds to the weight of the bike:
- This is because the weight of the bike, including the batteries, is over 50 kilograms and it does not manage to climb steeper routes (over 25%) with an adult of average weight. Not even if you are also peddling. A motor with an output of one kilowatt, i.e. significantly more than one horsepower, should actually be able to do this.
- The motor is a bit louder than average e-bike engines but that is not a major problem.
- The instruction manual has far too little information. Many things that actually require a comprehensive explanation are not mentioned (throttle lever, key for second battery, opening the locking lever for the saddle adjustment, computer settings) and you have to painstakingly work out this information yourself.
- Quality control is very poor, if it exists at all. The front brake disc was sent to me new by support. I had to reinstall it because the one that came with it was making grinding noises.
- I had also ordered a rucksack, which was listed as an accessory on the same order page, but had to realise that it was incompatible with the X24. There seems to be also a lack of a caring hand in the area of accessories, which puts together the range in such a way that such bad purchases are avoided. This item has been removed from the page in the meantime
I live in the Alentejo in Portugal and can't do much with this version of the bike.
I can't believe you're putting on non-folding platform pedals.
Can you please make a clear video explaining how to assign safe select to the NX8 for the F-16 Falcon 80 MM
We have an "Unbox Build Radio Setup" for that plane, and we have one for the Thunderbirds 80mm, but the later is not as good, since it was a sample sent from Horizon Hobby product development, and it was kinda goofed up when we got it. I need to just RE-DO that plane...now that I think of it.
Nice video bud if you ever get a chance to check out a wired e-bike you would love it’s power and shock
Is the rattling coming from the battery? I saw another reviewer noted that. He fixed it by applying some felt padding to the top and bottom.
I'm sorry, but can't say for certain. There are admittedly a lot of THINGS that could wiggle on this bike...but I assume it wouldn't be the battery on the center part, since it's mounted pretty tight...NOW the FRONT battery, in the tube (backup battery) might have some rattle too it, and I just didn't think about it.
Cool guy& funny, very clever & full of surprises.😀😂🤣🤣🤣😆👍
Brian enjoyed your review of the Engwe x26 my question to you is I love everything thing about this bike 🚴 but what’s holding me back is my height is 5’8” in your honest opinion would this bike work for me thanks.😊
It will work for u, id say 5’8 is the absolute minimum to ride it. Im 5’9. May be a little hard to mount on, but it’s not bad at all. Very comfortable
How are you doing?
It's been a while you still doing the RC reviews!
I am on hospice care how!
It's been a while since I have watched your channel how is the Hay business doing.
Sincerely!
R.S.V.
Thanks for coming back around Richard! Very sorry to hear about the Hospice care!!!
We're definitely still doing RC reviews, and strange you bumped into us on this Bike video ;)
Hay business is very limited in it's scope in our lives, right at the moment, with most of the land being "rented out" in a standing forage agreement (AKA the neighbor takes the grass hay in back and the alfalfa in the field next to our property), but we did find a buyer for the grass hay, and this guy sells it off to the 4H kids who need small amounts for their cows and other livestock needs. It's nice for us, since we don't have to fight to find a buyer, even though we don't make a enough money to basically pay ourselves back for the time, let alone the fuel costs, and equipment cost (prorated). I'm still glad we did the hay equipment, since it opened our eyes to just how hard the Farming part of our lives could be...and Hay is about as easy as it gets in farming! That being said, we are "in good faith - for a profit incentive" farming our land. This isn't to say we'll make the profit we chase, but one day, maybe, just maybe, we will ;)
So Brian first time watching your channel nice bike but it about the bike assembly or about you? Also seems that CZcams changed it's format can't find the product links you referred to.
This channel is about OUR experience with a given product, situation, or event and not necessarily meant to be a blanket review. We could review product, and try to take ourselves out of it, but that would undermine who we reach, which are people who usually have gotten to know me, and Megan (camera crew and my wife), and our family and situation. EBikes are a very small part of what we do here on BrianPhillipsRC. We generally focus on Radio Controlled, Aviation, and Homesteading. Sometimes these items are not really relevant to each other, except for how WE relate to a given product, situation, or experience.
Thanks for being here with us. Welcome!
The product links are in the VIDEO DESCRIPTION - as for how it changes, I can't tell, since each device is a bit different.

Did you have any problems with the seat post droping while riding like other youtubers with this bike
yes, then I tightened it like crazy.
Did you just skim over regenerative braking? That's huge!
I may have mentioned it, but since I wasn't sure about it actually working, I didn't want to get too crazy on that detail.
I have it on our scooters, and it works VERY well, but I can't see evidence on this bike, and would like to see it. It should also help with breaking, and this is one of the major issues I have with EBikes...they're so much heavier, I want stronger breaks, but there again, I'm heavier than your average rider...so kind of a me problem.
What's the IP rating on the bike?
Very nice eBike. Great review!
You don’t look like you weigh 300 pounds. No way!
By the way… my son’s name is Brian.
PS. I ride the LECTRIC XP.
Thanks Nahni!
Well, maybe ~290-295 lbs - but I have married a good cook ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC One thing is for sure, if you keep riding your eBike, you’ll see that weight drop like hotcakes. I’ve lost a lot of weight since a started riding. I don’t ride as much now due to a failed lower back surgery. But I still ride, just not as much.
Best wishes to you and your lovely wife. 🌹
Would you recommend Door Dashing on this bike?
Hummm.....well, if you're really TALL, and have a long torso, you'll love it. You really have to REACH out to make your body fit this frame, but beyond that, it's GREAT! The seat would work well for goodies, and you could easily strap them down with a bungee cord or two
@@BrianPhillipsRC I'm only six feet tall.
Was this like list to Chris Farley explain how to ride an eBike or what? 😂
Turn the bike upside down when you put the wheel on!
Could you tell how tall you are. Thanks
I'm about 6'1" (or maybe 6'2") ~ 285 lbs
That ebike motor respect can carry you about 40 miles don't 😅😊
Does the bike have fenders?
You can usually order with options like this. Check our link, and see what options you might want, then you'll also know if they're reasonable on price too.
Thanks!
They should put a scale on the bike
Scale?
Hi cont 7nor11 I can only watch you 😅😊
How do you fix a flat on the road
Magic.... not joking - it's a HUGE pain!
P.S. I crashed this bike and injured myself not once, but TWICE!!! On the second crash, I lost 5 hours of memory and my sense of smell for 3/4 of a year so far. I'm happy to report it's still very slowly coming back, KINDA. And then there's the hospital bills - $2000ish for the CT scan. I was "okay" but who really knows...you've seen me on camera - LOL ;)
Scale to weigh how much stuff on the bike
Very interesting.
As soon as that rubbish suspension bottoms out that seat tube being so low and the crank welded to it like that is gonna cause problems! That post battering off the ground it'll Snap your spine and probably snap the crank off! And why it has fake downhill duel clamp forks on it i don't know? The rear coil springs are no better rode carefully on it no jumps tricks etc it wont end well
Hello dear it should going up hell😅
yes?
I noticed you never mentioned the price of the e-bike.
We don't mention the price because the prices can and do change, and we have absolutely no say or control over why or when they do. This is normal for us, since we leave videos up for years, we have no idea what the price will be.
We do provide links so you can see what the current price is. Keep in mind, they can and will be different in different locations, due to logistic concerns...so you basically would have to look anyway. Sorry for any confusion or frustration this may cause.
Also, a lot of times, we have coupon codes at www.BrianPhillipsRC.com (our website) for many of these brands. Just follow our link from here in the video description, or there at our website, for the item you're considering, then you can grab a coupon code if the price, shipping, stats meet your criteria.
Good luck with your search, and thanks for being here with us!
That bike is not meant to carry a passenger... it has no folding foot pegs.
How much is that e-bike?
You can check current pricing as well as current sales here... bprc.me/Ebike_X26
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks buddy!
Love how they bought the piss pot back and are claiming its for ebikes now 😂 the skate helmets as they used to get called (piss pots)😂
Nice Bike but £2400, I will give it a miss.
Bike looks super small when your on it
...and yet it's a big bike. The frame is just a weird shape. We have a bunch of ebikes now, and this one just fits ME weird.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I’ve been looking at getting 1 more e-bike and was thinking about this. I love the Engwe e26. Thanks for the indepth video.
That display module I do not like... too much Hocus Pocus.
BBBE will fix the weight issue. YT
That e-bike requires too much assembly... I would take it to a bike professional.
Not much crash protection against the battery in that downtube is there! It still amazes me how people think these are the best thing since sliced bread! Gonna get one get a proper one and not a danger to your life! Dodgy suspension Dodgy brakes shody welds, sometimes even ground down to make you think it's all part of the design! No structural twist force protection with that single battery casing probably with the brittlest of alloys! One hit the wrong way your gone on this thing! Just waiting for some accidents with these type so there made safely to a real bikes standard.
That's a cheap battery charger... you run the risk of it overheating.
its pronounced ENG-WAY
I'm definitely not going to win any awards for reading made up, poorly spelled, Chinese names.
Pronounced engwey...
I can't read that any better than the name...
