  • This little powerhouse is a great solar generator. I detail how much energy I use and how the Flex 1500 performs. Spoiler.... I love it!

Great video, thank you for sharing. I purchased the APEX Inergy to use with my ResMed CPAP machine whenever I travel or go hunting and fishing or for the occasional power outage. I ordered the 12Volt adapter that Resmed recommends and was surprised that the APEX continued to power my CPAP using the humidifier for 49 hours. My CPAP worked flawlessly and when I stopped using it the battery still had 28% charge left and the voltage was down to 10.47%. Just thought you would like to know that the pressures on my machine are set very high starting at 12 and ending at 16 with the humidifier set at 5 out of 8. With the pressure so high I need the humidifier or my nose dries and bleeds. I now use a Bi-pap with the humidifier and the 12V adapter when using a power bank. The 12V adapter is so efficient, so much so that I bought a jackery 500 to power my Bi-pap and the jackery lasted for 19 hours before I stopped the test, which for me equates to 3 nights of sleep at 4 to 6 hours average. Using the 12V adapter with the Bi-pap and humidifier I used an average of 19 to 21% energy a night. I would highly recommend purchasing a 12V adapter for your husbands cpap machine and possibly use a 12V splitter adapter on your 12V plugs. Again , thank you for sharing.

Wow! that's great info. Originally I wanted him to get a cigarette lighter plug for it but he has dragged his feet. I'll have to encourage him again. Sounds like I can save some power- the inverter draws 6-8 watts. Do you have solar panels? What a pain to install but I love seeing it back to 100% so quickly. I think my 400w of solar might fill a third battery no issues in the summer. It'd be nice to have it as a back up. It's something I'm thinking about and will consider maybe in a year or so after I have a few more boondocking trips done. Thanks for your input.

I thought I read that you couldn’t use it and charge it at the same time?

Good question. You can charge and use at the same time, otherwise you couldn't use it while the solar was coming in.

Nice but extension cords are fire hazards.

All the extension cords I used were new. I was very careful to protect them when running them so they would not be pinched or stepped on.The Noco plug for my shore power is an extension cord with a rubber plug on one end sold commercially for outside use. We have used extension cords in our house every day for the last 38 years and have never had any issues with safety concerning them so I felt pretty confident this was a good choice for us.

@@micheleelliott4726 The problem is they overheat. I never had a problem either until 2007 then lost everything. It only takes once.

@@livingbyfaithwithbenji8909 oh that's too bad and very unfortunate. I see why you are very cautious and I appreciate your love :- ) . I'm hyper aware of those issues so when I run an electric space heater or my portable air conditioner I always do a heat check at all the plugs. Also using extension cords that are meant for the type of use- is very important. You can see I'm not using the small cords meant for a lamp but a cords meant to be used with high watt power tools. They are built to take a high load. The size of the cord makes all the difference. Thanks your concern- I also have a fire extinguisher, smoke alarm, and CO2 detector in my van.

Running your power with spike strips and resets will work great. I think people sometimes get confused. People will run extension cords and Christmas lights all winter long and not think twice about it. Extension cords are fine as long as they're plugged into a GFCI. And you're not running more power through the cords than you should.
