This video clearly showed how poor that technology is. It is completely useless to be enthusiastic about it. And those special effects you presented - - full of crap. Did you supposedly use this particular technique in the video intro 0:09 and 0:10 in the examples? You certainly didn't think they had the slightest overflow in one direction or another. But when you later presented the adjustments to the program, nothing came close to perfect! But if that’s how you get your channel to succeed when you introduce unfinished technology, then congratulations to you. Personally, I don’t give much value to your enthusiasm if things are miserable.

An observation: Although having a green screen isnt necessary, having a reasonably consistant background [ie not cluttered and even lighting] is very helpful. Also, a subdued or darker background also helps. Lastly, a little hairlight or backlight on yourself also helps tremendously to separate yourself from the background. Look carefully on how Michael has lit himself for best results. Thanks Michael, excellent tutorial!

Great tutorial and easy to understand. Good job! I've been using this feature on zoom & other programs for a while and not a huge fan. After using a real green screen for so long on OBS the edging on all these programs is terrible especially if you move around a lot or have your mic close to your face. I've played with the different settings, lighting, and angles and just cant seem to get what I think is acceptable for me. I mean if you have no other options its better than nothing I guess but I would strongly recommend a real green screen for top notch professional results until this virtual green screen technology gets a bit better. It's been slowly improving so Im hopeful! Thanks for the vid!

Honestly for like 50 bucks the green screen seems like the best choice. But this option exists so I figured why not show people. :-) you could probably buy enough green fabric to cover an entire room at Joanne’s fabric. Honestly he lighting is where it goes off the rails for most people.

What u can do is create a zoom meeting, rename yourself as "." , turn on ur camera and put a plain green virtual background there then minimize zoom then, in obs add a window capture to the popup that appears and use chroma key.

For me, when I watch your videos, I understand you have passion, high work ethic and the knowledge, the research, the effort.. everything is great and super high tier.
The one barrier I have to get around is how the screen moves around so much with things happening all the time though. I recently got diagnosed with adhd so this could be a big explanation as to why.. you know “ooo pretty colours, what’s that” but I believe it actually distracts me from what’s happening on the screen?
Please don’t take this as “I will never add a zoom in or graphic again!”. Just something to consider ❤️

Great tutorial but let's be real, we're a long way from this type of technology being even close to the quality you can get from using a real green screen.

@@cwdoby I do have an RTX card and I've tried using numerous pieces of software like this with a ton of different configurations, both through my own testing and through following guides. The technology just isn't there yet, it can't look as good as using an actual greenscreen yet, unfortunately. I wish it could but it just doesn't. Claiming anything different is just intellectually dishonest imo. Not sure why people like you assume things instead of ask. Even the uploader of the video agreed with me on this point. The question is how much YOU have really tried this..?

Great video, liked the intro a ton with the editing :)
Althou, it looks kinda janky at best and removes hand gestures most of the times and seems to consume a lot of CPU power on lower end systems(?). And you mentioned Plugins many times crashes, and that one wont... which you end up saying it will if you mess around with one specific option ;)
But for ppl who have an NVidia GTX1000'series or RTX series card, you can get a way better looking "greenscreen" like you describe, within NVidia Broadcast, and it basically doesn't take away any of your performance as it uses the NVENC (afaik) processors in your GPU for streaming and such. It's still a little more janky looking than a real greenscreen, but also a great free alternative (if you count out the graphics card that most of streamers already own). Perhaps you can poke around with that as a video idea? (Version 1.3 just got released which improved it a ton from version 1.2)... and it also comes with RTX Voice which is removing bad noise and all (like, unbelievable how noise much it removes)

I would like to thank you for this video. It allowed me to achieve the desired end product. My only criticism is that there are crucial details that you glossed over and I had to figure out for myself. For example. you never explained in detail that you had to resize the camera image so that it fits the recording box. Therefore for about 15 minutes I was staring at everything in place except that my face was in the top left corner and I could not move it to the center of the final image. It was not clear until I froze your video as to where to place the plugins. I have subscribed to your channel but I hope that you would slow down a critical juncture and allow slowpokes like me to understand the incredible work that you are doing. I will be using your channel almost exclusively for this product.
