    thanks for the information, as an Indian citizen living abroad over the last several years, there are lot of things I did not know that I should be complying with. Thankfully your session explains all that so well.

    Great video! Thanks.
    I hope you are aware that India is most likely the only country where you have multiple identity documents - passport, Aadhar, PAN card and Ration card. Most countries have ONE (maybe two if you add driver's license to it)! I think you should speak the usage of a single identity document and the government needs to hear this from multiple sources

    We can maintain if we already have PPF when we resident in india. But as NRI can't open new PPF account

    Thanks Keerthi. Wonderful tips. I usually do some of this but having this consolidated list is very helpful to tick off. Especially given the geotagging of Indian govt websites, its best to get these things sorted when one is back home.

    It is now new rule that NRIs if they want to obtain Aadhar card they have to stay for six months in India. Since NRIs do not get absence of leave for such long time they are in great difficulty. Within six months the authorities call you for verification of documents, any additional submission of documents etc. when NRI should be present in person failing which his application is rejected. Please verify this with Govt. Of India.

Now market price 6 crs, if i sell i.e 6 crs - 2.05 cr(expenditure) x 12.5% (LGT) = aroudn 49 lac tax? is my calculation correct? it's commerical property. pls advise.

What I already understood from other resources previously is that if PPF was opened when one is a resident, it can be continued after becoming NRI. • @keerthisfinfonricommunity
      @keerthisfinfonricommunity  Před měsícem +1

      Bank account depends upon fema which considers your intent. If you intended to leave India to settle down in foreign country or not to return India then with the proof of flight tickets, one can open nre and nro account.
      In your case you are US citizen, it becomes must to have nre and nro account unless you have an intent to return and settle down in India permanently. Number of days are irrelevant.
