  • The name of the place comes from two words of the people of the Majhi (a fisher tribe). It is made up of two words “Mun” and “Thali”. The former means a local alcoholic dish of Majhi people who are the locals of this place and the latter means a place. The word Munthali means a place where you can eat Mun. It was later named Manthali. Being a hill station, the climate is hot here. The best time to visit Manthali and other sites of Ramechhap is September to November. The transportation facilities of this place are better than of comparing of other villages or with other rural cities. Though it’s not highly developed is still not that bad if compared. There is one airport which is Ramechhap Airport that is in the municipality.
Manthali is a municipality and the headquarters of Ramechhap District in Bagmati Province, Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former village development committees Old-Manthali, Bhatauli, Chisapani, Kathjor, Bhaluwajor, Salupati and Sunarpani.
    Area: 100.7 km²

    Weather: 13°C, Wind NE at 6 km/h, 65% Humidity.
