Thank you, Dr. Taylor! I have been looking forward to this video all week! The earlier ones were very informative (as are all your videos) but I received my introduction to endometriosis from you in person over 20 years ago! You were the first doctor in a long line of doctors to identify endometriosis as the cause of my years of pain and suffering. You performed a laparoscopy and laparotomy to remedy the situation and another a year or so later. I consider you my Dr. Angel! So, a year into menopause, you can imagine how thankful I am to hear your opinion on this! I had been taking birth control pills continuously (no periods) for almost 15 years to control the endo with no problem, loved them, but my GP took me off them almost two years ago as she was concerned my age made the stroke risk too high to continue. She's open to differing opinions and respects mine so I will let her know my scale shows I want my hormones back, lol! Thank you.

I have just come across these very helpful videos and learned so much. Thanks so much for taking the time to educate us women

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  Před 5 lety

I will cover migraines at menopause, but not for a very long time. The best way to help you on this is to schedule a one-on-one consultation. That will teach you what you need to know AND tailor all the information to your specific situation. There's nothing better than that. The videos will not be specific to you.
So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you.
      2) I would confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are 25 - 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email at least 24 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options.
The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).

I had a laparascopy after being diagnosed with endo, it was in my pelvis, in my bowels, cause during my period, I couldn't even walk or eat, would get diahrea, constipation, it helped after treatment but my real relief was after taking Lo Loestrein every day, it saved me, it did put me in early menopause, no more periods. Stopped taking Lo Loestrein after 10 years, but now I have something else called lichen sclerosus due to an unbalance of hormones, Jesus when does women's suffering stop?

I really enjoy your videos and have learned so much. Will you be doing anything about loss of libido and responsiveness post menopause? I have been to a few doctors in Australia and they all say they no little or nothing about menopause, which is very disappointing. I will definitely cover all that in a whole unit of videos. But it's a long way off.
The very best thing you can do is to schedule a one-on-pone consultation with me NOW. Your marriage will not survive the time between now and when I get to that unit.

Hi dr Barbie thank you for your videos they really are incredibly helpful. If I may ask a question ? I have endometriosis, I started taking dhea 50 mg a day, and it got better. But I noticed tummy swelling, weight gain etc so I stopped. I now use estriol cream from biovea which has helped me with the menopause. I have had no surgery for the endometriosis but noticed again long period cycles and pain. Would you say me going back to using dhea in a smaller dose along with the estriol cream? My gp didn’t tell me I was going through menopause, neither that I had endometriosis, I discovered recently through my nurse who looked at my bloods chart. Apparently I’ve being in menopause for 5 years. The dhea made me feel great. And the estriol helps with the hot flashes etc. Is it ok to take both? Perhaps the dhea at a smaller dose ? Many thanks Lola 😊

      Asmar,
This is best done in a one-on-oneconsultation. Nothing is as simple as it sounds.
Testosterone is responsible for your sex drive, but there are sooooo many nuances that you need to know that I just cannot tell you about them all here. "Sex drive" is not only one thing. It's many different things. In a one-on-one consultation, I would delineate all the pros and all the cons, specify al the details to your particular situation, and make sure you know what to expect in advance.
So, here's how a consultation works:

It all depends on your goals. If your goal is to prevent heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's, pellets cannot accomplish that goal. If all you care about is certain symptoms of menopause (or more specifically, peri-menopause) they might work for a while.
Pellet-pushers are everywhere these days. Few of them know much about menopause.

You need a one-on-one consultation for this. And you rally SHOULD schedule one for this. It's very important. This requires tailoring of all the information specifically to YOU.
I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please.
Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation.
I hope to meet you soon!

Dr. Taylor, I am in post menopausal stage, ultrasounds test showed that I have a seed (33mm) in my left ovary, not cancerous.
I was taking trisequens before and my doctor asked me to stop for 3 months to check the size of the seed and the size did not change after stopping trisequens
Is that what you call an endometriosis?
Can I go back to trisequens which is a cyclical regime or better change to a continuous HRT regime instead ?
Thanks so much for your guidance ! You are a fantastic educator !

Dr Taylor, can you please confirm what happens if you have a hysterectomy (and ovaries removed) and are on continuous oestrogen only? Is that going to be the same as if you took progesterone and oestrogen? In that there is a low level feed so you may or may not suffer continued symptoms?

I can tell by your question that you are lacking some of the most basic aspects of this education. And that makes it very difficult to answer your question in a comment box, I feel like I need to write volumes. This is commonly due to failure to start with video #1 and watch them all in order.
It is not the same, and the reasons are numerous.
To give you the attention you deserve on this (and anything else you want to address), please schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I will make absolutely sure you understand this throughly.
