Aww man when Sam started dragging Jake to hide the body and Jake played along, ahhh such a sweet friendship
It's entirely possible he didn't even see it. Remember, their field of view is deliberately hampered.
Alex Noir we see a looot more on his gopro than he actually sees.
BaePrime yeah exactly my point. Wonder if they could add "guard vision" in post?
Alex Noir He is talking about Jake helping Sam drag him with his feet, not Wren.
Inamol ohh right, yeah that was cool of him. Wren playing along when Sam was so obviously visible behind the tree was cool too though.
Isit me or isn't it better if guards don't go and look directly below them on the balcony? Caz i don't think that's how it works on the game itself LOL.
xRainZx Eh, the entire point of the game is that no one is pretending through arbitrary rules. So I think that outlawing minor actions like looking down would ruin that element of realism.
Sure. But some roleplay wouldve made it more interesting. Say not looking up/down and checking bodies if dead/asleep.
They already do "forget" when alert runs out.
Yeah, maybe you're right. The reason some of these mechanics seem broken is because they're trying to make the pacing better for a video. If you played it yourself, it would probably be a lot longer if snake hides and waits for all the guards to calm down naturally.
From what I see, the guys are roleplaying cuz theyve played the games and are familiar at the least and the girls are just doing whatever
Leave her alone... Hot Asian Chicks dont play metal gear. xD
"It's more fun if you play dumb" and yet ALL the guards go chasing after Snake when there's an alert, or peek and shoot from above without warning.
Anna should yell out when she spots. Or at the very least give a very loud Huh!?
Eric Choinière I think the only guards who play dumb are Jake Brandon Niko and Wren, the rest take it way too seriously xd
Pan Yeah props to Wren for ignoring Sam when he was "hidden" behind the tree :)
The goggles actually could have made it hard to see him. We're seeing the go-pro footage which is a lot clearer than what he can see.
Wren - "I'm new here, where do I go?"
Jake - "What's your name, Bobby?"
Wren - "No, I'm Jimmore."
Jake - "Jimmore? Good to meet ya." (walks away)
Wren - "Nice to meet you too sir... I'm gonna go over here."
Acting 10/10
who the fuck is developing this game? writing looks pretty dull imo
I've mainly been having problems with the hitboxes myself. They're so wide I feel like I can shoot 3 feet to the left of someone and get a headshot...
chill its in early acces bitches
@@whywhy8276 is it still in early access? I can’t find too much news about it nowadays
@Clippy its jimmore’s name
Sam's master tree strats had those boys bamboozled
Goshdangit. Whenever Snake is about to do something cool, Anna is always in the same place to make sure they can't succeed.
LMAO YES
TheEpicJman fucking feminists. Lol.
Or Ivy. Like running after Snake after she was shot, and then crawling under the garage door and shot him.
In that case, they should ban Anna, Ivy, AND Sam.
The highlight of the video is Niko's NPC banter.
9:02 “Really? That’s awesome”
“Well not for him, he got burned by a flamethrower.”
*dies
Ana is playing on expert mode where as Wren could totally see Sam hiding behind the tree but he played like a dumb NPC. Playing dumb does make the game much better imo.
I think he actually just didn't see him. The go-pro footage isn't what the players are actually seeing because of their goggles. Like at 9:37 when Sam was dragging the body behind the box.
If it were me, and I did see him behind the tree but he got out of my line of sight I would have said “permission to investigate last known position”, but investigate in a way that the hero still has time to react and get a knife kill before I turn the corner of the tree. But still, I like Wren’s role playing abilities when it comes to games like this
Oh man I was totally hoping Niko was going to matrix all of the bolts
Reggie Northrup Ikr?
I think you guys should change spawns
yeah, i was wondering that
Yeah! To keep things interesting for the people in the house. Because, if it was always from the same spot, they'd subconsciously start to gravitate towards that direction (for the guys patrolling outside).
I think the girls should play a lot more like NPCs ("dumb" as Jake said). It's more fun that way.
I fully agree with you
I like it, but I don't like enemies being able to shoot from a different floor
What I do not like is that she silently pulled up her gun and started firing without saying it out loud that she spots him. That's what they usually do in MGS
Should the guards be allowed to look up or down? Anna's kill of Sam seemed a little bit like cheating, especially since they're trying to go for the classic MGS feel. I don't know, it seems like no one has really been able to get past the first section of the game, asides from D.
Fadmash i agree. No looking at other floors and checking bodies if dead or asleep like in the game would be nice.
In the game the guards would walk up to another guard and closely check if hes dead. If he was sleeping theyd kick them to wake em up and assume they were lazy and napping.
In these vids theyd spot a guard on the ground from afar and go full alert.
Also id love to see sam kick someone to wake em up. Rather then autowaking, forced kick ❤
I guess that's what this game really comes down to: Who is willing to roleplay as their actual roles. The people who have played/understand MGS play their respective roles - e.g. when Wren is told that the intruder is gone, despite still being able to see Sam, stands down - whereas those who seem to have either little knowledge of the mechanics do their own thing.
Of course, this is all for future reference - I think it'd help the game a lot more if there were just a few more ground rules for what the guards can do and what Snake can do.
But the original game did have guards on different elevations.. It just wasn't too common.
migueeeelet Oh yeah, I know that. I meant are they allowed to shoot above or below the level that they're on? Perhaps I am a little rusty in remembering the mechanics of the game, but I don't seem to remember any guards being able to shoot (or see) above or below the level in which the player would be, unless specified by them carrying, say, a sniper rifle.
Shouldn't they shout too that they've seen the enemy before firing? It's totally unfair if someone from above you just shoots without a single knowledge that they're there. Does that happen in the actual game though?
So, aren't guards supposed to let you know when they're in alert mode? So that means Anna cheated. She didn't called alert and just started shooting quietly so Sam wouldn't notice her.
Jimmy Reyes Animation They need to stop playing with her she cheats everytime
You mean ivy?
@@mrstickanimator527 it's both but honestly kinda sucks but as long as they enjoyed themselves I think that's what counts and that's something they can improve on in the future
Great concept and seems to be implemented quite well. I know everything is already filmed (hopefully there are more vids coming soon) but next time you do this game, you should probably make sure the guards know all the rules.
Comments indicate that people don't think the camera man should follow Snake, but it makes it a lot more enjoyable to watch, so I would suggest that the guards know that they really aren't supposed to win in this situation (unless Snake fucks up really badly) and just ignore the camera man.
An example of this working well is when Sam was hiding behind the tree when Wren, Niko, and Jake were looking for him and they clearly saw him, but pretended not too because he was "hiding". I think the issue is that Anna and Ivy probably don't have as much experience at role playing than the guys. Overall really fun concept and works really well!
They already ignore the camera man, they only debatable instance was with Jake in the last video, but the he was clearly in the view of the downstairs guard, if just for a second. I've never played MGS, so i don't really know about guard mechanics and can't really say much about the girs.
Atsi Akuchu in MGS the guards don’t look down railings at 90 degree angles, and they have to go into alert mode before shooting
I don't know. Seems kinda unfair that Ana just shot Sam without giving the alarm before. The guards aren't supposed to be the stealthy ones.
yeah, the girls never played MGS so they're all tryharding
Shame :/
Well, hopefully next time they play they can follow better the rules/roles and actually played the game(s). :)
wafflepiepancake 10000% agree
Not only that ivy looked over the edge when she is not supposed to
Vented ,
Dudes, shut up, they’re just having fun.
Good guy wren, keeping the game going
Joloxi yeah, no one really mentions that lol
wren can clearly see sam behind the tree but decided it would be more fun to just let it go
good guy wren
Clockwork Lullaby He acts like AI
Still though, the addition of the taped goggles was meant to allow players to play at their best while keeping it balanced. Wren should have called Sam out.
Yik Long Tay yeah still. That would have been 0 fun for everybody
People don't understand they still need to roleplay (hence why wren didn't say anything) a little to make the game fun.
10:06 why was she looking over the railing, downwards?
People need to stop looking down from the 2nd floor.
People who do are almost guaranteed to see snake
Seems kinda unfair with the girls looking over everything on the 2nd floor honestly...
of course, did you think a female would actually play a decent video game and not IRL stream on twitch for money?
Woah what was that unecessary sexism out of nowhere lmao
welcome to the internet lmao
Nom Sauce it's not sexism if it's true.
Also Ivy.
People need to start calling their sightings as soon as they see them in this game to make it more like the actual game. It gives notification to the player that they’ve been spotted and it gives the guard the ability to mobilize
That niko slo mo tho
Replayed it 5 times :D
He is the matrix
Sam's round was the best yet, even if his death was bit cheap.
I kept seeing comments about how "the girls are ruining it" and I was like wow sexist, and then I finished the video and was like oh ok makes sense now
Jimothy Jimbob exactly. It's not about being sexist, it just happened that the girls were the ones here that didn't play along.
Eh i mean when it comes to things like this I think it’s just part of our nature for boys to play along with the dumb guard act
3:44 That slow-mo is so good.
He dodge the bullet like a pro
Ivy didn't say a single word when she spotted or shot at Niko.
Niko or sam?
Bom
Ivy didn’t shoot Sam, that was Anna
You should adjust the rules if you ever do this again. Having people look over the balcony for so long makes a difficult game even harder.
they forgot to equip snake with a paperbox :/
Hermes Voeglein yeah but how would he carry it
Man duck Anna, you have to play dumb not try to win
Clippy right but literally everyone else is still role playing as MGS guards, Anna and ivy were the only ones who weren’t but that was probably due to miscommunication of the rules and lack of experience playing with the guys
I feel like the girls messed it up. They actively hunted outside of their posts before there was an alert...
Sam was awesome!
First I thought he would mess up as quickly as Jake by relying on pure tactics and getting immediately spotted, but then he played the game flawlessly. Who would have thought he needed to look up from time to time
That balcony peek was B.S.
Oh well better luck next time Snake
MY GOD!!! SNAKKKEEESSS
Its the family of snakes all trained to do the same thing
Arctik Fox They're all sleeping agents, if one is killed the next one takes his role.
Next time just be sure to explain the rules to the girls.
Guards have to give the alert first. And cant follow snake around all the house
"Was that a dart or was that a gun?" Throat immediately sliced. 😂
Yea I think that next time... they guards shouldn't be looking for where they thing "snake" will be. Like Ana saw wren fall to the ground... she should have said something like "ahh someone fell so that sam knew someone saw." Overall, the guards were playing dumb which makes it fun, but they should be consistent.
3:40 I felt like I was watching a boss fight between D and Niko lol
Niko Wren and Jake play NPCs well because they give benefit of the doubt to snake, the others act to realistic imo
Did anyone else notice that Niko and Jake both call each other "Frank" when Sam is playing Snake? 😆
Remove camera guy,
Less guards at the front porch,
Make the glasses of the soldiers a little foggy, so they have trouble spotting at a distance
That's what I would change.
But please keep doing those videos!
This video probably happened a month ago, the game is fair but you think its not cause you don't know the mechanics
Go pro video is way more clear than what they actually see through the goggles, plus it was cold so they probably already fog up.
@dinoherobios65 Got me :D
I say don’t remove the camera man, but add a decoy camera or two to roam the house and film the guards.
You can tell Sam got mad about Anna killing him lol
I think he was primarily stunned, and then a bit annoyed. I'd be too, she wasn't really matching the spirit of the match. Technically she cheated
T4nkcommander even her win when it was her turn was kinda bs as well, she just ran in and run and gunned then locked herself in a room and waited for the guards to forget and exit alert mode
Ngl Sam played that double kill on Niko and Jake masterfully. And the headshot on wren. Was so unlucky Anna was checking from up top
it would've have been cool but Anna "cheated" when she broke the immersion by looking down
It was more unfair rather than unlucky
I loved the conversations all the guards were having and Niko’s ninja dodges!!
I dislike how they dont shout before shooting... you are supposed to let Snek you are there goddang!
Ok, sry but these girls don't know how to be an NPC. You can't look down below a railing or chase someone down at full speed across the house. D, I know u read these, my recommendation is mod the goggles more to limit range of vision, and remove a few guards.
WarMachine425 well they should keep all the guards but keep the extra in the house like guarding a few of the doors.
Another video, another round of controversy and complaining . Looks like they all had fun, and learned some things they might try next time . Loved the Jackie Chan story. Thanks again , Node!
I doubt snake had fun after being killed by a cheating guard
Guys stop complaining about the damn cameraman. You do realize they have cameramen following people in every real life video? They are used to it at this point just like how actors are used to cameras being pointed at them on set; they put them out of their mind. Plus, they're all friends just having fun. Wren could clearly see Sam behind the tree, but since Sam was "hiding" as Snake, he didn't do anything about it, so with that mindset with the game, do you really think the cameramen are going to give away snake? The guards have set routes...
LMAO Wren just staring at sam was hilarious when he called it off
Anna frustrates me , she doesn’t play like a npc. Ya know like looking over the side
both Anna and Ivy
Jet, D and Niko are all ninjas
knotty Moose Sam did pretty damned well too. He was simply the victim of bs, as many snakes have been (no alert or sound when seen, also shouldn't have been shot from above.)
I wonder if Solid Snake, upon encountering an enemy, unceremoniously shits himself, thus turning into Liquid Snake.
I loved when Niko was sedated.
"Was that a dart or a gun?"
*Neck sliced open by knife.*
Can love bloom on the battlefield?
Wren playing along as a dumb guard who can clearly see sam behind a tree, but let's it go.
Yea or he needs glasses
@@JAMEYX The goggles limit their field of vision tho.
NERF Anna and Ivy smh the only one who actually played right was Wren, if it was Anna or ivy walking when Sam was hiding the body they would have alerted
If they do this again next year, they should have all of the guards wear the same jacket, so if "Snake" is able to sneak up and take one of their jackets, he can sneak around better.
Then that's not Metal Gear Solid.
Neither is how they played it, so I don't see a problem. Maybe they should do a different theme.
My favorite Jackie Chan movie, is "Who Am I?"
Low key mad Anna ruined Sams game. It was gonna be the best one yet.
Yeah sams game was looking pretty spectacular
Its gonna be so satisfying when somone actually does it
I would’ve taken a guard hostage and threatened him to tell the others he spotted me running to the back of the house.
Niko :Otticon, ever told my childhood being a hero?
Otticon: Uhm... No
It's Jackie Chan!!!! LOL ^^
Nikos attempt is everybodys first MGS expirience of an area.
Those slo-mo shots were awesome lol
“His name was Jackie Chan, he's a stuntman, did a lot of action films. Really inspired me to try my best because he never gave elp”
-Niko 2017
props to sam for wielding his pistol and knife in my favorite manner
Remember the basics of CQC
When "The Best Is Yet To Come" started playing, nostalgia kicked in...
It's neat how you taped up the guards' goggles to mimic the "no peripheral vision" thing in the games.
Someone teach these girls or remove them :'( this would've been a perfect game..
I don't think soldiers in MGS could look up or down Anna. :P
if it's in their cone of vision they can still see.
Dalton pretty sure he's talking about in game. If a guard is on the second floor they can still see you below them when they're looking out. TRY AGAIN BUDDY! lmao
It's a pointless argument, she was looking in Wrens direction when he got taken out then Sam ran clearly into view, that's really the only thing that needs to be said, these are human beings not AI they're going to be a little unpredictable even with routes.
Why is nobody else talking about Niko's sick dodging of those shots at the end. That was a nice spinning duck dodge, looked amazing... Even if he was then hit with the third shot.
that cig. drop is how forest fires start :-)
Who’s on the other side of the radio for Niko? It’s golden. “Do you want to know more about your tranquilizer gunnn?”
realize big bear's over, but if you ever do it again:
- Strict NPC walking paths
- Snake chooses spawn location
- NPC's cannot look out windows or into other floors
- Make sure they wear earplugs
- Alert by voice not radio (so people too far away cant hear and don't come running from the other side of the map)
"Was that a dart or a gun?" asked Niko as he eventually died.
Nobody is talking about ivy? She is ruining every game. She doesn't know how to play. Teach her otherwise execute order 66.
Not EVERY game, but a large majority, yeah.
And anna too, I honestly dont like her at all
I agree, but whatyagonnadoaboutit.. These are all prerecorded from like October i believe.
reads your comment Molly Mind *laughs in sith*
Guards down look up or down !
Wolf Gangster not the grammar police but it's don't not down sorry that just bugged me
Amazing job guys! These were all prerecorded with the first one too so MAJOR props for making all of these adaptations even before reading any of the comments people were posting about. I'd give Jake the MVP award for this one, he played along so well with everything. Wren and Niko were a close runner up. Great job guys this was the best one yet.
Also that was a nice touch adding in some Wren backstory to explain why he was so "jumpy" with calling out Snake. Great job coming up with that one.
I think a round where we don't see snake from his perspective would be cool. Rather than following him, we follow the guards and experience how THEY feel as they play.
Aw dang, I was really rooting for Sam. Somebody needs to talk to Anna about actually acting like AI, because that's a huge part of the fun.
"hey Frank, say you gota pack of stoges with you?" Stoger confirmed
Wow Ivy acts like a AI
She didn't the previous round. Seems Anna took her place these games, tho.
Anna shouting "I got you, Sam" was funny
3:44 I wonder if Niko was actually trying to dodge those bullets or if his body just reacted out of instinct. Either way, that slo mo was badass. He dodged 2 bullets but Noscope D took him down on the third shot.
The girls didn’t play this game at all right!
3:43 Niko we're playing Metal Gear Solid, not Matrix
I was dead😂😂 when wren said "Hi, my name is JimMore". (5:50)
Snake is probably my favorite series on this channel
I think a way to update the game is to have some sort of items to be able to pick up, like different guns for easier fights or make the game harder with reserve soldiers in a break room with shields that are reserved for back up or make the game easier by finding the room first somehow and eliminating them first, so when backup is called, the response is "Sorry we're unable to assist, you must deal with this on your own" and maybe give side objectives or different missions. Like finding a prisoner soldier to assist you somehow as a sniper, so they only help you from afar
If Snake is spotted then he should have a type of "reflex mode" where whoever spots him has to count down from whatever set of time like maybe 20 seconds from the first alert and then 15 seconds from the second one and so on an so forth... Just to give Snake some edge instead of being able to shoot him instantly and the guards can act in 'slow mode' to try n shoot Snake, the guards would just have to pay attention to what alert they're at... Maybe they add something like this at some point in a vid i just don't know lol
I wonder exactly what could be done to make this game more balanced without making people have to pretend not to notice certain things. The vision reducing goggles and ear plugs were a nice touch but it still seems like the game is biased against whoever is playing Snake. Maybe if the guards were somewhat less mobile in their patrol patterns or fewer in number?
It would probably be better if Snake would start in a position where he can't be seen from the balcony.
That makes sense, it does seem like the balcony guard always notices something screwy.
They could try adding like cling wrap to the goggles to reduce the guards vision at range.
I love jake's play. Just like in game
Nikos slow motion scenes made me think he wad gonna matrix his way out of it
I love that Jake suggested a name for Wrynn or something haha. "What's your name? Bobby?"
I love this system. There are some many times where it blows me away that the main character wasn't seen and it makes for some cool moments
Sam knows the basics of CQC
To be fair, she was already looking over the balcony before Sam decided to shoot Wren. And, I get that the NPCs are supposed to play dumb, but the goggles and ear plugs are supposed to partially hinder senses anyway, so you wouldn't have to 100% of the time play dumb.
Anyway, it's not like she knew Sam was down there to begin with and it wasn't until Wren got shot was when she noticed Sam was down there. The Snake should be aware of his surroundings and etc.
Niko: "Was that a dart or a bullet?"
Sam: *knifes niko* Doesn't fucking matter.
i feel like something that might improve this is if the goggles were a little blurry so that there is like a maximum range of vision.
For next Years Cabin
1) No cameraman following snake
2) Gotta tell the girls to play stupid and act like a npc, I feel like we would have had three much better games had they been more familiar with the video games they were supposed to be emulating
3) NPC wear tight clothing, feeling the darts better
Jake plays this role the best, well done
I still hope that a guard goes like "?" ... "I'm seeing things.."
1:26 Bandon ownin the hell outa npc patroling lol
