- After Newcastle United beat Sheffield United 5-1 which European competition is it more likely NUFC will qualify for? Both Chelsea and Man Utd could only draw as Newcastle won so it's made the race for 6th and 7th more interesting. Goals for Alexander Isak, Bruno and Callum Wilson saw Newcastle record a 13-1 aggregate score line over relegated Sheffield United.

Do you feel like Newcastle are more or less likely to finish 6th after the weekend's results?
If we don't lose to MUFC, We will head to UEL. City will win FA CUP
Infinite claps for "CB" BDB 👏 I hope we can keep Isak and Bruno G., who love Newcastle so much 💕
I am a NewCastle fan from the USA, and you have a great channel. I think we have some world class players, and if we can keep them (fingers crossed) and get injuries under control we can make a run for the league next season. Thanks for your content my friend!!!
Thanks so much for the kind comment. I really think a lot of people will underestimate us next season. Providing we can keep players fit, plus add a few in we should be battling for top 4 again. We’re not a million miles off even after the season we’ve had!
Where about in the states are you from?
I am Newcastle United fan from Iceland
I am from North Carolina. You ever been to the USA? You have so wanted to tour England!!! 🏴.
Be well my friend!!
Good man
Talks facts and less emotional sh?t
I think Newcastle are odds-on favs to finish 6th with those fixtures, taking it we don't completely go to S**t. Chelsea and Man U I think are more inconsistent and vulnerable than Newcastle at present. Plus, on 19th May, I think a mixture between Man Utd players thinking about the FA Cup final just around the corner, and also not wanting key player injuries, might have an affect on their performance at Brighton! (Hopefully)
Hope you’re right. I hope we are able to put some good away performances in the last 3 away matches.
Another great video Ian. The Sheff Utd game summed up our season one minute we are total 💩 and the next we are totally unplayable. If Longstaff is playing through the pain barrier, the fans are watching through the pain barrier first half! Whatever happens this season I'm happy with where we are at. I predicted top 8 after the first game against Villa. Lots to work on at the back but we have a genuine team to challenge top 4 if players can stay fit and Howe can change things up. We really struggle against teams that sit back and it's been an issue for two seasons
Yes I think we're not a million mile from where we want to be. We have to find a way of playing against the teams who are hard to play through, keep players fitter for longer and strengthen in key areas - CB, RW and CF in my opinion need bolstering. But if we can get a European spot, then I think - all things considered that'd be a successful season. We can score the goals, we just have to find a way to concede far fewer next season.
Your assessment is realistic and refreshing. Had it not been for BDB and Sheffield UTD's woeful finishing we would have had a mountain to climb in the 2nd half which is cause for concern. The scoreline is flattering..I'll take a win any day though!
Thanks. Yes the first half performance was - concerning - actually. Burn played well and saved us a few times. But yes, very pleased to take a comfortable win in the end.
New sub; love your content and those table/card presentations! 🎉
Thanks very much - glad you like them. Got more ideas to use them in future (and improve them too.) 👍🏼
Good video! But… ahem… You could have chosen a better photo at 5:33 😮 Neither player will thank you for that!
Haha! 🤣
There's a third player outside the shot doing to Barnes what he's doing... 😂🎉😂
A lucid and well presented explanation, thank you. 5th is still mathematically possible, but I’d like the insurance policy of Spurs and Chelsea drawing (1-1) just in case we have to settle for 6th. I think our star man JL coming back, will be the lift that drives us into Europe.
Thanks, much appreciated. Yes I think JL returning will be huge for us. We should become far more solid in midfield.
@@iansmithfootball He is probably our most influential player. He’s not a midfielder, but an all-pitcher! His athleticism and strength, combined with skill and an incredible mental fortitude makes him unlike any other player in the modern game. I truly believe he has been the biggest miss this season. Bruno is superb, but having both together makes us virtually invincible.
ian ...the big question for me .. does howe have the game plans to win 3 away games .. when we have only won 4 games away all season ?? ..the pressure is on ! firstly ian I will truly gutted if we lose to man utd because in my mind this is worst man utd team in 30 years and they are a team of individuals ..and 1 point I will make is if win the next 2 games ..I can certainly see man utd lose against crystal palace + arsenal and we would be 5 points clear with 2 games to play !! Just a thought !!!
Well that is the big question isn’t it? I really hope he can, but clearly we’ve struggled away from home this season and it’s been a mystery at times. I think we’ll be up for the Man Utd game, I’m more concerned about our performance against Burnley and Brentford to be honest!!
Were nicking 5th
*1st
6th or 7th, Spurs will finish 5th, and they still have to play, Burnley and Sheffield United, our goal difference, which is superior to all the others.
what if man utd finish 6th with FA cup? would that still mean 7th is conference league?
Yes it does.
Newcastle will qualify for Europe if they score how many points!?
It's place, not points.
Dummet. 2 points. 🙈
Spurs 3 down already 😂😂😂
Yeah just watching - if they continue to play like this then we might! 😂
All those missed opportunities may cost us , Spurs have an horrendous run in but 7;points is too much
@@DavidSmith-gr9gd maybe but I remain positive coz I have money on 5th 🤣🤣
haha fair enough - thing is we need to play better away from home and 3/4 games left are now away.
@mark toon ….i hope you get your winnings then 👍
Best result for Chelsea v Spurs is a draw…!!
Yes I think you’re right. Still don’t think we’ll catch spurs but would be amazing if we did.
@@iansmithfootball Spurs have got to play City and Liverpool so can’t see them getting any points from those games…I thought they’d lose today which they have…could drop points against Burnley too.
Man ure shouldn’t get too many points from their games…playing Palace at Selhurst Park (they’re on a run atm) and can’t see them picking up any points against Arsenal or City or Toon.
If Chelsea draw with Spurs they’re on the same game number and points as Hammers who they still have to play alongside a few other decent outfits.
Plus Toon G/D is massive compared to all but the Top 4 which could be crucial.
A Spurs win is better as it eliminates Chelsea from contention. We're not going to catch Spurs.
@@user-fo9bv2mm1g not with that attitude - as I said Spurs are STILL catchable especially having to play teams above them in the final run in!! Toon have more chance of overtaking Spurs than Spurs have of hauling back a Top 4 finish!!
@@seanford2358 Attitude has nothing to do with it. Come back in three weeks and you'll see.
