It's a neat format for an exhibition but there's a lot of risk of snowballing in competition if two people with one clear main play, and one gets 3-0 because they win the first round. Maybe you strategize around it, but I'd say if you want variety the winner should swap.

Interesting that Melee and platform fighters borrowed "wavedashing" from tekken when it means something different in those games.

Law has been in Tekken since the first game in 1990s. Also wavedashing is a tekken thing since Tekken 3.
