Thank you. A lot of product pages for blast cabinets make it seem like you don't need anything else. Appreciate your explanations for the other required components!

Good video. I had to laugh when you unloaded it... I find myself unloading alone most of the time, often a questionable bakencing act.. As for the cabnet.. should work great. Keys to a blaster is only blast dry parts...wet parts will foul the media and make it plug up. The surge is often the pick up "starving", damp media can cause it or an "air leak" in the suction hose but often just the sand not falling into the feed end of the pick up. They make small vibration devices to help but I usually tap on the hopper occasionally with my knee. Running without a dust collector makes it like blasting in a sand storm. You will collect alot of good media in the dust collector so sift it and reuse. I'm sure you read, you can get different nozels to help with a smaller compressor. You will find that a handy tool!
    Keep up the great work!

I was laughing at myself editing this! The methods we come up with to unload things. 😂
Good info here, I really appreciate it. I was reading about a mod for the pick up that looks like it helps with the surging issue. I did add a fair bit more media and it helped a lot. Funny, I also tap mine from time to time as I’m using it now.
The nozzle thing is new to me. I noticed that it comes apart, but I assumed that was for clogs and such. A different size nozzle might just be what I need. Thank you!
I really appreciate the info and feedback. Glad to hear I was able to give you a little chuckle. Thank you for watching and commenting!

The best sandblast cabinet is a used Harbor freight from Facebook. Then the upgrades are all up from there!!!!

You never finished talking about the baffle on the back of the cabinet. Does it stay open or not.

If you have negative pressure in the cabinet, then the foam gaskets not sealing well should not be a problem. No media should leak out unless you are not using a vacuum.

Yea, good point. I did use a shop vac without any issues. I think I went a little over kill honestly. Some sand will come out of the cracks but not to the degree that the online reviews say. At least that will be the case if you don't do what you've already described.

Use rear port for best visibility. The best upgrade parts can be bought from Tacoma company. High suggest their gun, foot pedal, and metering kit.
Do not use a vaccum larger than 3.5hp

Great info! What is the issue with using a larger vacuum?

If negative pressure is not set correctly, you will suck out too much media. Or cabinet will suck in when running and glass could break.
Watch “Rays Garage” blast cabinet upgrade series.
