The twins died this yr.
R.I.P. ladies . . .
You made more of your lives than most people ever will!
One of them was a trans man and his name was George, he transitioned in 2007, a few years after this was filmed, and he and Lori were the first known conjoined twins to have separate gender identities. I’ve known about them since I was seven or eight and I never knew either of them but it was hard to find out they’d passed away. They were 62. I don’t know why but all the other oldest adult conjoined twins passed away in their 60s too.
I've had prosopagnosia all my life. I always wondered how people knew who I was, but I didn't know who they were, are. About ten years ago I found out what it is, and it has a name, and that it is the way my brain is wired.
I was so relieved.
Now I can laugh about it instead of being confused all the time. 😂😂
Thank you for uploading this! Hopefully all episodes will be uploaded! I remember loving this show as a 12 year old and found it very interesting (but scary that it could happen!). I feel with all the patients!
It looks like many of the episodes are uploaded. Nice! This documentary show was very memorible and amazing in so many ways!!
Fascinating.
Amazing stuff
Were the conjoined twins dropped at an orphanage during infanthood? The overhead voice stated theyve spent 24 yrs in a RTC
I have prosopagnosia, it's interesting
What happens if one of a conjoined twin die? Like you have to operate? Bcs wouldn't not to be fatal for the surviving twin?
They both die. They died earlier this year.
I spent over 44 years providing direct care to people, some few I’d which had either compulsive pica (mostly plastic like shower curtains and shoe sole edges bitten off, or shoelaces), or attention-seeking consumption (small brass screws, felt marker tips, batteries{BAD idea!!}, and part of a television aerial (on multiple occasions).
Awkward to explain at the ER.
Dangerous to various degrees. Extremely hard to eliminate. Mitigation and eliminating opportunities was the best course of action.
I truly cannot recon an “normal” individual wanting to eat a glass lightbulb, metal nuts, or…a bicycle chain(see how THAT turned out!)…
Same job; we had a senior Head Nurse who wished aloud that she had some maggots to clean up a bad infection a client had. I thought she was making a bad joke, but she said that during her time in the military maggots were used on some wounds because they only eat dead tissue and byproducts like pus.
RIP Reba and Laurie. 😢
It's Lori & George Schappell. This film can't even get their names & gender identity right. They were born and named as Lori & Dori, Dori hated the rhyming and changed her name to Reba after her favourite singer, then later she came out as Transgender and changed her name to George.
@@fay-amieaspen6046This video is just an upload of an old TV show. "Medical Incredible" ran in the early 2000s. The segment the show used about Lori & Reba/George, was actually taken from a full length documentary about conjoined twins that was done in the 90s. So this info is roughly 30 years old. When the 1st documentary aired, George was still Reba, & was seriously trying to get a professional singing career going. This channel didn't get anything wrong, they just uploaded a very old program as it was. They probably could have put a disclaimer at the start of the video, but I'm guessing they just uploaded a random old show that they thought might generate some views for their channel. I'm old enough to remember the original program, and this program as well. It was all very new & interesting at the time.
can't the other one talk? does Reba all ways talk for both of them?
She gave herself a “bezoar” of hair. That was some hairball!
One was married as well
These shows are so bad for hypochondria
Why? To see someone worse off?
Blame Google, doctors HATE when people Google....
😂
😆😆
I don't know when this was filmed but Reba charged her name to George & came out as a Transgender Male, making him & Lori the only set of Conjoined Twins of different Genders. Considering how many years ago he changed his name and Gender identity, this film is either very out of date or disrespectful. RIP Lori & George Schappell. They died April 7th 2024 aged 62.
It’s from the early 2000s
They are 43 at time of filming
Oh come on. To think one can just speak the word and they become a different gender... so utterly ridiculous
