- Fairy tale medieval town, the historic center of the town of Český Krumlov in Czech Republic has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage since 1992. According to UNESCO: "Situated on the banks of the Vltava river, the town was built around a 13th-century castle with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. It is an outstanding example of a small central European medieval town whose architectural heritage has remained intact thanks to its peaceful evolution over more than five centuries."

The nature in the Czech Republic is beautiful ... I have visited the country a few times ... Beautiful place with a rich culture!
Unfortunately, there is only few natural looking places left, most of Czech Republic are artifical forests (monocultures), fields and cities. But people are working on restoring our nature after 40 years of communism, they started cutting mega fields to smaller fields like it was before and they started planting more oaks and beeches which should be here naturaly, not spruces and other mountain trees.

My first exposure to Krumau was through a series of landscapes by Austrian artist, Egon Schiele, who spent some time there in the 1910s. While heavily stylized, I think he captured the town's beauty perfectly and it was a place he clearly loved and admired. This video helps me see it the way he did (that is, as a local) and makes me fall in love with it all over again. Thank you for highlighting this truly remarkable place. I can't wait to visit it for myself one day.

Great video of a fascinating and beautiful town where my wife and I spent a marvellous holiday some years ago. It brought back a lot of memories. I have to admit that I found it better without the sound.
