Set compressor to 80-85psi, spray in circles not straight lines, heavier texture start with smallest nozzle first, open up the pressure bolt (back of gun), if desired texture isn't there then move your way up. Never start with big nozzle....
This is what I was looking for thankyou
Thank you for taking the time to make a great video. Do you have a video how you did the skim coat?
That 8 mm is for doing popcorn ceilings. I have a handyman business and do a lot of drywall repairs over the years and I’ve never actually had to repair a popcorn ceiling. Thankfully in my area that little fad from the late 70’s and 80’s never caught on. Haha man I remember when I was a kid there were people in the Bay Area where i grew up were having popcorn ceilings done to their homes on a perfectly good smooth wall ceiling. They even had the drywall companies add sparkles to the ceilings. 😀
Thank god where I live now no one did that.
popcorn ceilings look awful but ceiling texture can look good, I have the texture that looks like many paintbrush dabs
I tried to do this once, it looked like I put the plaster in my mouth and spit it on the wall. You make it look so easy.
Great tutorial sir thank you very much!
Great presentation. Thank you.
thx for info, very helpful!
Great Work!!!
Can u use the bigger tip and let it sit for a min and then use a trial to knock it down and flatten it out?
This is a really good video on actually knowing how to learn it. The other videos skip too much information and too many steps. Thanks
Question for the board: When is the drywall primer applied ---- BEFORE texturing, or , AFTER texturing?? Thanks!!
Excellent video
Thanks great videos 👍👍👍
question… does your gun spray air constantly? I bought this gun but cant maintain a high psi for a fine orange peel
Looks great
Thank you 🙏🏽
This video got me shopping for this compressor n hopper 😅to start my home project
I wish you well on your project! These will help you greatly!
I need this in my garage!
🙌🏽😎
I like that the hopper funnel is ergonomic 😂
What’s the psi on the air compressor?
What if I want to remove texture on my ceilings XD. Do you have a video for that?
Thanks bro 😎
Thank you Bruno for watching! 🙏🏽😊
Helps if you have the correct air fitting on the texture gun. Also Flare fittings and ball end fittings dont require Teflon tape on the threads as they dont seal at the thread
Something you gotta try some time is a clamp light with 100 watt bulb clamped on the top of your hopper. Gives a sweet view of your pattern on a ceiling as you walk backwards , little more learning curve on walls but still very nice. Keep it shining sideways along the surface and use it to look around and check for spots that need more texture.
This was really helpful. Thanks!
You missed out on mentioning the PSI in the video which was driving me nuts, but I saw you answered in the comments 100 psi. Maybe add that to your video description or a pinned comment 👌
Thanks again!
Informative video.
I know it’s not the focus here (and it may not have even been your decision) , but I feel that the job suffers by not repairing those dents, visible at 9:24. Texture masks some imperfections, but it won’t mask those, for those who might get that impression due to the failure to address them. Not terrible, but it would bother me a bit.
Quick question. My orange peel is larger than yours. Did I mix it too thin or too thick?
I set the air compressor at 100 PSI but it was more like 60 when spraying a large area with the smaller compressor
Set the air compressor psi while spraying( just air) that way it will be 100 when you spray not when it’s sitting
Great video! Very helpful. Wish I would have seen this before blowing $20.00 a can on which do about a 25 sq ft. - 85 square feet my ass...
Thank you John! I used the can before and it doesn’t cover much and the texture quality is not that great. I hope you get to try this sprayer 👍🏽😊🙏🏽
This was exactly the tutorial I was looking for. Thanks so much for a detailed walk through. Your walls look great!
Hey what are the settings you used on your gun for this video? I have the same texture gun, and however you set yours is what I am looking for. Your wall looks great!!
Lol ignored 😂
I need to know too 😩
I should post a picture of the wall I finished after I finished it without further help! Lol
Note to anyone else: Since I didn't know the settings, I fiddled with it by testing stripes on cardboard until I got what I was looking for.
Bravo .. what pressure did you use
Thank you 🙏🏽! 100 PSI 👍🏽😊
Great tutorial, thanks. Here’s the question, can I mix paint or dye with the plaster?
I dont recommend cutting corners, but I have seen it done. You will definitely run into coverage issues, and it will crack and peel if you spray too thick or add too much compound.
I like to use snap line colored chalk
I swear floppers used latex paint in a gun like this instead of actual compound. My walls are an uneven sandpapery mess that can't be cleaned because the drywall paper is under it. It traps every speck of dust and tears off pieces of sponge everywhere when wiped. It's gross. What do you recommend? It's too gritty and dirty to paint over.
Skim coat it first
Did you prime before texture or nah?
Hi! You can if you want to, I usually use primer over the new texture then use my top coat.
It may not be as critical as when sanding or spraying thin material, such as paint, but protect your lungs with a mask? Otherwise, good video.
You can also paint first then put toilet paper holder and wall plates later so you don’t have tu “cut” around them with the brush….🤔
Why did you skim coat just to texture?
It will sit more evenly
You need to paint before putting on electrical covers and toilet paper fixtures back on. Don’t paint around those things.
Why would you sand the walls just to texturize them? Seems like an unnecessary extra step.
It’s just so there no bumps when u get the texture on
If it’s flat texture
When you do this for a living you will understand! Otherwise the way describe; Sure, if you are starting from a flat surface, you get a consistent finish as long as you maintain the same technique throughout. However if you are doing a patch and have to match texture you must feather your pattern in to the existing. Sanding the circumference of your patch is very necessary.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP, I SAY STOP SWINGING THE DAM CAMERA AROUND!!!
What about buying a good mic. and voice record like a pro :)
Thank you for the feedback 👍🏽
Terrible man I just wanna know ... Nevermind
Do not use your dewalt for mixing it will burn up the motor
Yep
Do not use your DeWalt for any application requiring rotational force, as it will burn the up the motor
