You know guys but, if a huge game comes it had to be a port of an older game which transition to switch would be not only better but prolong if it is true that Switch 2 works backwards. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, Xenoblade Chronicles X for switch could be a thing to close the hardware for older audiences and things like a Yoshi/Kirby or just cute tittle just to go for holidays, nothing crazy. I just don't think of anything else, and if it is true the whole DK anniversary sounds great we don't know if Nintendo originally had plans to launch a DK game alongside Universal roller coaster also being announced, but had to be postponed because reasons, who knows? Who knows if the first game to start the "switch 2" is a DK game?
Per talking to my friend, I have to agree with probably how they'll plan things out. They'll probably announce it October, software showcase January and release in March (following the same exact style as the original... simply because it obviously worked).
Honestly this tweet made me more excited for a direct focusing only on switch games than I would’ve been had I been holding my breath from a switch sequel in the direct. Even if it’s a light direct, I’m just here to have fun now
I litterally just barely got my first switch a month and a half ago. I wouldn't have even got one except a popsicle melted on my 2ds. So hopefully switch will be relevant for a few years and online games will still be able to be purchased for msny more years. I can't see myself getting a switch 2 anytime soon.
I kind of wonder (and hope) if Nintendo announces a lineup of Selects, finally. It'd give people a way to catch up on games they missed, while taking advantage of the new consoles (alleged) bc, and make Nintendo a few extra bucks.
I was on a trip this past week and just finished reading Ask Iwata. It's really interesting to me that we should expect this next console just to be "switch next", having read about how important it was to Iwata (and Nintendo in general) to always be changing things up. I'm curious if the next switch will have some gimmicks or major differences, or if it really will just be a powered up Switch. Thanks as always for sharing your perspectives!
As WiiU’s abysmal performance by fall 2016 was approaching the all important x-mas holiday shopping season, it was not only a good time to reveal the “NX” as SWITCH, but direly Needed to promise a bright future was in store. But would it be harmful to Switch’s final holiday season to reveal/showcase its next console this fall, like they did before, with Switch this time around being a Huge hit, or best in January?
They are doing this in their own time and asking us to be patient. It's not like we don't have a huge backlog to keep us busy until the shiny new Switch 2 comes out.
This is fitting the pattern, they always come in twos. The NES brought Nintendo into the home, then the SNES was just a better, improved version (2D sidescrolling). The N64 was game changing, then the Gamecube was a better version (3D). The Wii was revolutionary, and the Wii U was an HD version with a second screen (motion control). Now we have the Switch, a hybrid system, and the next one will be an improved version (portable HD hybrid).
There is still some things for Switch we can look at. Prime 2 and 3 remastered, Prime 4, that new Professor Layton game that was revealed but not shown, Pokemon Z-A, that rumored Fire Emblem remake or possibly a new one as we are around that time...maybe Xenoblade Chronicles X port? Or maybe Monoliths new mystery game that we saw a concept art image years ago...I also wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo gives us a new smaller Kirby game or possibly another Mario Party, like Superstars 2 which would be focusing on Mario Party 4-6.
I’m excited for the next Switch and hearing your thoughts throughout the release process based on your past experiences. I feel like your channel is going to grow fast as the new console releases!
What i suspect is that they will announce the switch 2 direct date in the June direct. I wont hold my breath but they have done surprises before. Excited fir a slower year to catch up on games... but also excited for switch 2.
The only game I’m looking forward to is the new Professor Layton game and that’s coming out next year, so I’m not anticipating any new game until then. Hearing about a new switch does bring me joy, as my 2 OG Switches are on their last leg. The battery constantly needing to be recharged is getting annoying. I will try to hold out for a new handheld, but until then, I’m still gonna grumble, and may even eye another handheld *cough* steam deck lol
I just wish youtubers didn’t start doing Switch 2 announcement rumor videos almost a year ago. It’s frustrating to have anticipation built up for something that doesn’t come out over the course of almost 2 years.
I love my switch and have built an extensive amount of games for it the indigo blue switch lite, 8 years been playing thats amazing, i hope Metroid Prime 4 could be announced or a Zelda Twilight princess HD remaster fpr the switch. We may not hear Nintendo talk about tge switch successor in the upcoming direct, seems to look later this year we will hear the switch 2 or whatever they may call it. 🙏😎♥️
You forget we used to hear about Nintendo June Directs a month in advance when they did E3 Directs. We would see the full time slots of when Sony was going and Xbox and Nintendo. This just goes back to that.
There are already many video thumbnails that read "Nintendo will reveal Switch 2 in June"....they exclusively say it won't be. I don't even know if the September direct will touch on it but if they are releasing March 2025, then probably Feb will be the reveal.
This June we'll be holding a Nintendo Direct on the Nintendo Switch 1 software lineup for the second half of 2024, but please note that there won't be any mention of the Nintendo Switch 1 successor during
Nintendo filing new trademarks for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse AND Stretchmo the month before a Direct is interesting, I really would love if both of those popped up.
I think this will be a very Pokémon based Nintendo direct because they announced switch with the upcoming game - there obviously will be other games, probably lots of indie games
Metroid Prime 4 is not a good launch game (marketing wise they want a Mario game like MK9) so it could get released for the holidays and I think the Zelda remakes are the big one more thing until they're ready to talk about the Switch 2
They want us to consider it as the next switch model which makes me think it’ll just be a beefier switch obviously with its own exclusives while still supporting the old switch like how PlayStation and Xbox are still supporting their last gen consoles.
I’m going to be honest with u i believe that Nintendo company is straight up telling us to be greatful what Nintendo Switch have offer in the very freaking first place & I was looking at my Nintendo Switch for a few months now & I have to blame the Nintendo fans for being so ungrateful fans to Nintendo company & other video game companies as well too
This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.
The game I most excited about this year is monster hunter stories remaster and one piece odyssey such banger games to end year for me 😂❤❤❤. Love the video thank you. Switch era 2 begins but switch era doesn’t really end to you don’t get anymore original switch game I guess. I just hope for improvements in game especially with sv Pokémon ❤️. Switch 2 yeah I not getting unless Pokémon make like special edition😊.
This June Direct might be the final Switch only direct. I guess they can end it with a Prime 4 trailer or maybe a xenoblade X remake. Although, xenoblade x should be a next gen remake for potential 60 fps.
I know I may sound crazy, but I feel like there's a possibility we get a new cheaper Switch revision before the successor is out, Imagine if they release a newer Nintendo Switch Lite model that can finally Dock and comes with it's small cute Dock and many cool special editions just like those bunch of Hyrule, Minecraft, Pókeball, Pikachu new 2DS XL editions at the end of the 3DS lifetime. We may even get transparent Pokémon colored editions to go along the NSO GB Pokémon games, that way I can see Nintendo surpassing PS2 lol.
So basically June's Direct will be like the 3DS Direct showcase in 2016; "there's a big elephant in the room but pay no mind, we'll announce something later".
I would love for yall to predict the future of Nintendo, where they are heading with the continual monopolization of the industry, handling ever increasing production cost etc.
Now it's really time to start the name guessing game. I really hope Nintendo avoids using a boring name such as "the New Nintendo Switch" or something along those lines. Super Nintendo Switch seems like the most logical choice. It appeals to the nostalgia of Millenials and Gen X, and it's quite clear to newer generations that it denotes a new system.
Mario party I'm saying it now everytime a Nintendo console reaches it's end they always have a New Mario party for example Literally star Rush and top 100 came within the first year of switch but it was on 3DS Mario party 3 right before GameCube even launch in 2001 Mario party 7 2005 a year before Wii launched Mario party 9 right before Wii U was a thing So it's not impossible to say a New Mario party is in the works for switch
That profits chart is interesting. People see the Wii U time and go HOLY CRAP THAT'S AWFUL. But it really isn't. Look at the whole thing, take a step back and actually look at it...From 1981 to 2023, which is 42 years they only dipped into the red in 2 years....2 bad years out of 42 years is nothing. That's like you getting sick twice in your life by the time you hit 42 years old. That's nothing. A hiccup. Nintendo has had so much success that they could have Wii U failure's for 30 years before a critical problem is at hand lol.
This sounds like the new console is going to be much later than sooner, and at the very least makes it sound like it wont be announced until after June. How far away is this console? Still disappointing as a consumer with only a Day 1 Switch, especially if Nintendo waits until next Spring to even announce it, then we wait another 9mo to launch. I have no intention of buying another Nintendo console until the new one launches since my current one still plays games.
Big announcements for June shall be: ~ Metroid Prime 4 out in 2024, finally get gameplay reveal and release date, it will be the opener ~ Donkey Kong Country 30 limited time release for Switch Online users to go with DKC's 30th anniversary which is 2024 ~ A brand new big free roaming 3D platformer Donkey Kong game to go along with DK64's 25th anniversary as the closer for the Direct, out for holiday 2024. Hail marries: ~ New Star Fox game that is open world and heavily inspired by Star Fox 2 ~ Ice Climbers Uphiking and it is a 3D puzzle-platformer where you climb up the mountain (puzzle as in it is more methodical than action based, so more Kirby than Mario style) ~ Open world F Zero, duo-developed with SEGA, it will be only one giant very far futuristic city surrounded by desert and rocky landscape for the outskirts and be more of a fun sandbox game with races thrown in ~ Ring Fit Adventures 2 (to be honest, they probably save this for the next console and do an entirely new motion controls gimmick for it) Then everything else will be surprise announcements and 3rd party games. The September Direct will be more focused on the japanese audience and those that like japanese games.
@@MasterStacona Nah, makes more sense for MP4 to be a launch title for the next Nintendo console imo...should have learned their lesson with Samus Returns for 3DS...
@8:15 Kit, read back that QA answer from Gibson's tweet. This _is_ the switch pro. In that, this will be a very iterative update/upgrade from switch. People just latched onto the "Pro" moniker because it's something the competition have been doing and it's an easily digestible way to frame it for the masses. Remember: the switch successor was getting shown off to developers last year.
Yeah but the switch pro was being talked about a while ago as another version of the switch, and it ended up just being the switch oled. This new console is completely different, although it is still going to be a switch at its core.

Kit was the guy who hug aonuma in the game awawrd 2017?!
Yeah! Switch 2
🥳
Love yall
So basically June's Direct will be like the 3DS Direct showcase in 2016; "there's a big elephant in the room but pay no mind, we'll announce something later".
No the Direct with the big elephant was last year :)
Pretty much what I'm saying. But nobody is listening...
@@Zen.Connection wowie zowie
But we already got the big elephants?
Thru have to show prime 4
I would love for yall to predict the future of Nintendo, where they are heading with the continual monopolization of the industry, handling ever increasing production cost etc.
Technically we have June and September because I think Nintendo always released a direct in September as well.
The only perspectives I cared about. Now I hope our september direct will have the info........so I can us black friday to buy memory for it hahahah
it’s gonna do something different like a a new transformer.
Super Switch seems like such an easy move, which is exactly why I doubt they'll go for it
Nintendo Switch 2. Keep it simple.
Switch U
im verry curious about what hardware it will have inside
Black friday sales couls convince me to pick up switch lites for my kids, they need to get down to nintendo 2ds price range for me
Mario party I'm saying it now everytime a Nintendo console reaches it's end they always have a New Mario party for example Literally star Rush and top 100 came within the first year of switch but it was on 3DS
Mario party 3 right before GameCube even launch in 2001
Mario party 7 2005 a year before Wii launched
Mario party 9 right before Wii U was a thing
So it's not impossible to say a New Mario party is in the works for switch
A real console will finally outsell the dvd player.
Please, say goodbye to the OG Switch with a new RHYTHM TENGOKU game!!!! ♥
Thats not furakawa....
A hiccup. Nintendo has had so much success that they could have Wii U failure's for 30 years before a critical problem is at hand lol.
all pokemon gb and gba versions coming to pad out the end of the year
No, it hasn’t the switch 2 hype has officially kicked off.
Give me Metroid Prime 2 remaster this June.
The 160 mil PS2 number from Jim Ryan does have some merit to it, 155 million was only until march 31st 2012, but the PS2 kept being sold until 2013.
Maybe it isnt gonna be a switch but it could
“The Eternal…”
Me: “Eternal Darkness port!?”
“Zelda…” ah…. I mean, still good.
We are in the end game…
They need something big to sell 13 million units.
a price cut.
Where is my Echoes remaster 😭😭😭...I care about that more than the new Switch!
Just give us switch player choice selects. With all dlc in it
I really hope that the nintendo switch 2 is edible
I need Mario sluggers switch, how do you not capitalize on Ohtani 😢
Now, the true next gen will start with Switch NG! Sorry, the other name sounds dumb.
Smash reveals were longer sometimes....
Oh, great! I like Switch 2
Furukawa....
Switch 1 $199 this holiday :) oLED 299
Still hoping for metroid prime 2 and 3 remastered for June's direct. Maybe even 4 but we all know that aint happening
Big announcements for June shall be:
~ Metroid Prime 4 out in 2024, finally get gameplay reveal and release date, it will be the opener
~ Donkey Kong Country 30 limited time release for Switch Online users to go with DKC's 30th anniversary which is 2024
~ A brand new big free roaming 3D platformer Donkey Kong game to go along with DK64's 25th anniversary as the closer for the Direct, out for holiday 2024.
Hail marries:
~ New Star Fox game that is open world and heavily inspired by Star Fox 2
~ Ice Climbers Uphiking and it is a 3D puzzle-platformer where you climb up the mountain (puzzle as in it is more methodical than action based, so more Kirby than Mario style)
~ Open world F Zero, duo-developed with SEGA, it will be only one giant very far futuristic city surrounded by desert and rocky landscape for the outskirts and be more of a fun sandbox game with races thrown in
~ Ring Fit Adventures 2 (to be honest, they probably save this for the next console and do an entirely new motion controls gimmick for it)
Then everything else will be surprise announcements and 3rd party games. The September Direct will be more focused on the japanese audience and those that like japanese games.
Get ready for Donkey Kong December
I’m sensing some serious hopium vibes…
@@UrSoulsBelong2Nahobeeho donkey kong and metroid is pretty realistic
