- Your favourite brands keep their factories a secret, but I don't believe in that. In this video, I reveal the manufacturers behind the biggest fashion brands.

Would love to see Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, as well as high tier luxury brans like Gucci, Balenciaga, Prada etc.
I did wonder why did he not put that on the video
I NEVER comment on videos but this was truly so informative and you are extremely knowledgeable in the garment industry. Would love to see some rankings on Nepenthes (South2West8, Needles, Engineered Garments), Buzz rickson, Margiela, acne studios, etc. amazing video again
What a comment, really appreciate that! I can speak on a few of those brands for sure!
Thank you so much for the work you put in for the rest of us to learn and enjoy. I would also suggest Our Legacy, Braindead, Patagonia, specific lines within Nike like ACG, as well as smaller brands like Arc'teryx and Alpha Industries.
I completely agree! Would also be nice to know what type of details are expensive to produce and are a sign of quality.
@@wlasry Our Legacy too ;)
Buzz Rickson produce 90% of their products in-house much like the real McCoys. Ive met the brand director Kameya-san before and the guy is demented when it comes to repro, especially for their leather jackets. Back in the 90s they would burn fabrics, nylon, leathers, etc. Just to study how it was made. They turned 30 years old last year so have a wealth of knowledge in-house by now but also used spectrometry back in the day to understand fiber count and threads. They're owned by the parent company Toyo Enterprise who do the sugar cane (repro work wear mostly), Sun Surf (largest archive of Hawaiian shirts) and Tailor Toyo, the brand that makes Suka jackets. Because of their position in the market they have the funds to do things right and produce mostly in-house with some exceptions.
stone island , crtz , prada , needles, maison margiela alyx
On it🤝
@@wlasry Can you do acronym, cav empt as well?
@@alexliu3765 Acronym I am actually going to visit one of their factories in May! Cav Empt is so hard, they're almost entirely in Japan and I cannot find them even in the 4 months I've spent there this year.
Chrome hearts ?
Objectively?
Fair
I know a lot of commenters are naming textile-based fashion. But an exposé on eyewear manufacturing would be BRILLIANT. Consumers are so duped by eyewear. Tom Ford, Jacques Marie Mage, Cartier, Gucci, Prada, all the Luxottica Group stuff, Kering group eyewear. All that would be wildly informative.
The reality of eyewear is the 80% of it is produced by one company: Luxottica
what about Matsuda?@@wlasry
get a chromeheart glasses
@@wlasry this. my art director has worked designer brands and said they’re only made out of two main factories and that’s it
What’s wrong with JMM?
We found you randomly via the algorithm and I just want to say that I love your videos. Incredibly informative and engagingly produced. Thank you! I'd be interested in hearing about outdoor brands (Patagonia, Arcteryx, Salomon, Mountain Gear, etc.)
The amount of effort that you put into making this video, aggregating all of the information and delivering it in such a digestible way, cannot be underlined enough! Thank you!!!
I appreciate you recognizing that!
Great video, with a lot of information I wasn't aware of! :-)
I would love to see a ranking like this for higher end brands like Jil Sander, The Row, Loewe, Lemaire, Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga and Prada!
Ok got you, I know a few of their suppliers so I will add them to next video!
Great list!
Fear of God, Balenciaga, Rhude, Acne Studios, Zegna, Ami Paris, Bottega Veneta, and Palm Angels
Finally someone talking about Real McCoys 👀 I think you should cover the other big Japanese houses such as Toyo Enterprises and Iron Heart. Also, small shops in the USA like Mister Freedom, Freenote, and anything from Standard and Strange haha.
Yes!! Needed to be highlighted. I’ll speak on those soon as well
Freewheelers is the goat
@@user-nz8pm5jf4y I can never find Freewheelers in stock haha. But I know its run by a guy who left the Real McCoys. Apparently their leather jackets are the best?
Loved this video. I'd love a part 2 with more brands like Fear Of God, Needles, Undercover, Mastermind, or Visvim.
Gold. Essence of CZcams.
Glad this was recommended to me. Very informative and actually learned a couple new things about my favorite brands. Subbed
This Channel is an absolute gold mine of information. Definitely deserves more subs. This is amazing
🙏
Really great video. Making us a better consumer and understanding price points we are dealing with each time we buy something from these brands 👍👍👍
That's part of why I do this!
What a great video! Really love getting this level of "insider information" on garment quality. Hope to see more videos like these!
Amazing video. Definitely looking forward to a second part.
Stone island, FOG, Arc’teryx, Nike ACG, vetements,
This is AMAZING. So full of insights and make more of these. Sneakers, sweaters, etc. subscribing
You are cutting edge for supplying behind-the-scenes looks into the fashion industry.
Awesome video! Appreciate the effort and love the direction you’re heading with this! Would definitely love to hear more about the manufacturers of Visvim, Fear of God, Greg Lauren, Ralph Lauren (Purple Label and RRL), Thom Browne and Bode. Thanks!
Yes I'll speak on a few of those
@@wlasry Awesome! Big Thanks!
Rick, Prada, John Elliot, Balenciaga, Bottega, Balmain, Moncler, Alyx, 424
Keep it up! Lots of insights no one usually shares in this industry.
I loved the detail and info on each of the manufacturers. I would love to see you do a review on blanks produced by your favorite manufacturers.
You should do a tier list for fast fashion brands like Zara, Uniqlo, Mango, H&M, C&A etc.
I try to stay away from those brands in general because the knowledge isn't that helpful to people looking to manufacture. Factory MOQs are 10K units +++
@@wlasry I am not someone who looks to manufacture, I just like fashion brands in general. I think most people watching this video are like me and are more casual / into fashion or just curious what the quality of brands are as the factory says a lot.
I watch to know what companies making great products so I can go browse catalogues to consume.@@wlasry
Very good to know, ok I am convinced. I will speak more on those@@LAX3
Seems like you have a lot of expertise about this, you could make a full CZcams channel dedicated to like fashion brands / quality / materials and explain it to the audience in a casual more accessible way (basically just like this video)@@wlasry
Another brand I would love to see is RRL
Our Legacy AMI PARIS
RRL and Our Legacy for sure
Now THIS is a video people need. Earned a new sub!
this channel is great!!! a lot of insights and unique info were presented well. Thank you, this is super helpful William.
interesting to see how you rate these! would love to see more content like this 💙
Thanks Stijn, appreciate it :))
That video was S Tier super informative!!! Thank you brother!!
Thank you!!
I just watched this from the recommended and I’m surprised you don’t have a lot of recent videos, I’d love to see and hear more from you, It’s all very interesting stuff to see and learn
This is a gem my G!
🙇🏁
Great video, very insightful. Looking forward to part 2!!
I'd love to see your take on Kenzo, Acne Studios, Our Legacy, Acronym, ADER Error, Wooyoungmi!
Yes got you!
I thought he was going to talk about work conditions and all that 💀
This was extremely informative and well done.Thank you for taking the time to share all of this! I'd love to hear your thoughts and info about Warehouse in a future video. Amazing job!
Great video man. I love learning about this stuff.
Really cool video, interesting to hear about the technical aspects of making clothes. I realize you´re focusing on quality of the garments, but would be cool to hear about the conditions for workers at the different factories. Especially for the higher end brands I think they should have a focus on treating their workers well and allowing for things like unions at factories.
For sure!
Insanely informative video. Great stuff really. Would love to see a part two with brands like AMI Paris, Represent, Rhude, Acne Studios, ROA, Casablanca, Stone Island and Moncler.
Yes, can def talk about those
Thanks for the genuine content. Subscribed!
literally one of the most valuable videos i have ever watched, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
Cool video. I always was a fan of Yeezy season garments design and especially quality, but at the point they were out, there were so much comments saying they’re overpriced and overrated.
Cool to see some valid points they are pure quality
Would love to see a video on the companies you think produce the best clothing we can order 1 item of. I want to buy blanks for my wardrobe from so many of these you mentioned !
Try getsmpls.com run by friends of mine
Definitely need a part 2 🎉
This was fantastic. Thanks for sharing this info!
I would love to see a video diving into sunglasses factories! this is a product that is so dependent on marketing it would be cool to see which brands are worth the money!
On it
Super interesting and informative, would love if we could see more specifically on Japanese brands like visvim, Neighborhood, WTAPS, uniform experiment, sophnet, Human Made, Fragment etc. Thanks!
Got you! Thanks
Fantastic knowledge, thank you!
Rate some individual products from these brands, segments like, bags, shirts ect…
Good idea
Absolutely love this type of fashion content, and think there is such a gap of knowledgable insights! Would love to hear your thoughts on Andreas Steiner's brand RIER.
I’ve never even heard of The Real McCoys. Thanks for this info
Doesn't get better
Great video, it's so interesting getting an insight into the factories these brands used. Looking forward to seeing future videos!
Dude your core content is really unique and helpful!
I'm super curious about the factories used by LVMH and Kering Group because I hear a lot of rumours that at Chanel they make most of the clothing pieces in factories in Romania and then 'finish' it in France so they can slap a 'Made in France' label on it.
A lot of brands do that for sure
@@wlasry By the way amazing video, very informative on factories with best practice and quality
Fear Of God, Jil Sander, OAMC, Yohju Yamamoto, ACRNM
x2
YES
such. high quality stuff. incredible video william
the tierlist video i never knew i needed 👍
First and foremost Buzz Rickson.
Yohji Yamamoto, Undercover, Kadoya, PAF, Hyein Seo, Juun J, Ottolinger just to add a few more :)
Great content as always. Really appreciate your work 🙏
Buzz Rickson YES! Lots of collabs with Real McCoys in the past. Other brands will try my best. I know a few of their factories.
I need factories of BOTTEGA VENETA and ALEXENDER McQUEEN. PART 2 ✌🏻
Yes!
@@wlasryPALM ANGELS AND CELINE FACTORIES Plzzzzz

This is the most informative video I’ve seen on fashion CZcams in a long time! 🫡 would love to see Y/Project, JW Anderson, Bottega Veneta, Acne Studios!
Thank you! Will do
Talk about the worker's conditions. It's a really uncomfortable topic but it's super important. It blows my mind that a brand as expensive as Ralph Lauren makes their products in Cambodia. There's no way, no WAY they're paying workers in Cambodia anything like what they deserve.
Yes, I'll speak more on ethics / factory conditions
absolutely need a part 2 in a few months once this video blows up
thank you
Where did you get the man & woman lamps from, they’re really dope
Thank you, I bought it in Thailand but found it here for less: amzn.to/3Tl1bMU
I want to see more of this! Very informative thank you for everything!
Fascinating video, thank you so much for making this! Interesting to see how many brands share the same factories.
Thank you!
Bro really just gave us gave us game for free.99 … no more gatekeeping 🖤
No more gatekeeping
Will dropping heat as always!
great video man, seriously please make more videos that are informative about the clothing world it’s super interesting stuff
Really appreciate it
Walter van birendonk, bottega, balenciaga, givency, ambush, mowalola, telfar, margiela, Moncler awake ny, rick
I can do most of these 😅
Would love to see where Balenciaga and Fear Of God Mainline, manufacture their Hoodies.

Got you!
wow, i learnt so much info thanks man! this was honestly an amazing video and I really enjoyed it. Definitely gonna stick around to watch your future videos, Keep it up man :)
Appreciate it big time 🙏
i love how informative this was, id tune in for more educational content like this for sure, and id like to suggest a couple of my favorite brands like Ralph Lauren and Patagonia
Great info! I do wish you could talk more about Stussy because I see lots of their stuff now are produced in Portugal and South America which are significantly feel thicker and better than their stuff 4-5 years ago which were primarily made in China
Yes! They do have some new factories. Stussy's manufacturing network is really wide! I'll add some new ones in the next video.
very informative video, great find from my yt reccs.
few other brands that would be cool to look into: Undercover, Y-3 vs. Mainline yohji, Brain Dead, Marni, hysteric glamour, neighborhood, prada, and would love to see what you rank at the absolute bottom
Ok can def do a few of those
Incredibly useful video . Thx a lot
Super informative. Thank you!
i don't think it's that comprehensive cuz you only summed up the "supreme hoodies" which are made in Canada. However, lots of Supreme stuff's made in Asian countries like China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. which you didn't mention at all. We don't know the quality of the supreme products produced in these countries.
Agreed, I have a jacket from them that has made in Turkey tag. But mostly I think it’s from china
You're 100% right, its quite challenging as many of the brands have comprehensive manufacturing networks (and I don't know the full extent of them)
@@jeremymcintyre5316 Only jacket recently that was made in Turkey was the Moleskin Work Jacket. With fabric from Germany. Unless I missed one which is very possible.
I watched with great interest!
And as a Japanese, I am proud that my country has such an amazing factory. Thank you for introducing it to us!
One additional note: “seni” in “toki seni” is “sen - i” (the "i" is pronounced like the English "e") and means fiber.
I look forward to more videos from you!
this video gives me goosebumps so interested hope you do more
Dude sick channel! Great content, extremely informative. Glad I found it
Average layman here, awesome job! Not even interested in finding factories, just love fashion logistics and history. If you did this for an ethical rating system that would be amazing as well, this sort of content goes even beyond producers and manufacturers and reaches to normal people like me who just want to know about brand quality, sustainability, and if they use are used manufactured with forced labor (such as Uygh0rs).
Homie you are super knowledgeable about the background of fashion, and no one else has access to this sort of information, so if you like producing informative videos like this you have a fantastic niche. Amazing video friend!
Really appreciate it, happy to know that my audience isn't just those looking to produce!
LV in C/D tier is fucking wild. My mom has a classic Papillon bag that is canvas (not considered plastified leather - no one in the industry calls it this). She has used this bag every day for the past 30 years, and it still looks like new. The leather on the trims and piping of their canvas bags is also iconic. Maybe not A-tier being untreated leather, but the way it petinas is part of the fandom. Their actual leather bags are also fair quality, but it's met with A-tier service - warranty and repair.
This is just based on what I know but the majority of LV bags are poor quality, some are great, and vintage bags are far different than todays
@@wlasrysynthetic leather from LV but the top tier is Hermes premium handmade leather and not mass produced
30 years ago is totally different from the mass production of today
@@wlasryLV is the best brand i have when it comes to quality
Great production you put into this video man
