  • When dealing with moist conditions, mulching wet grass can be a practical choice for lawn maintenance, providing various advantages over typical mowing techniques. The capacity of mulching mowers to finely slice wet grass clippings into smaller bits is one of their main advantages. In contrast to traditional mowers that might have trouble with moist grass, mulching mowers have specially engineered blades and cutting decks that can withstand damp conditions with ease.
Mulching mowers produce finely shredded grass clippings that are subsequently reapplied to the lawn, where they quickly break down and replenish the soil with essential nutrients, encouraging the formation of healthy new growth.
Additionally, mulching wet grass reduces the possibility of clumping and clogging, which are frequent problems when using conventional mowers to mow damp lawns. Mulching mowers generate finely shredded clippings that spread more evenly over the lawn, minimising the chance of unattractive clumps that suffocate the grass and prevent it from growing.
Furthermore, mulching wet grass can aid in keeping moisture in the soil-especially after periods of intense rainfall-because the finely chopped clippings create a natural mulch layer that helps stop soil erosion and water loss. All things considered, mulching damp grass provides an eco-friendly and useful way to keep your lawn lush and healthy-even during less-than-ideal weather.

I mulch and have a hell of a time on my first cut of the season. After that it's smooth sailing.

Bagging your grass is removing the nutrients from your lawn. I only use a mulching blade with no bag. For the last 30 years. My yard is perfectly fine. No thatch every once in a while yes there can be a clump that comes out from underneath the mower and I have to go back and run it over again. My neighbor who bags, does that more often than me. Because the grass clogs the entrance to the bag and he leaves way more clumps than I do. And so does everybody else who uses a bag.

It just clogs the mower and rusts out the deck.
