My foster dad introduced me to Michael ball when I was 9 years old. Playing his CDs on long car rides. I'm 32 now. Just introduced this song to my fiance,( proposed in july in paris), and she's fallen in love with his voice. we've chosen this to be our first dance song. Couldn't imagine a better song to first dance with my future wife :)
I recently saw Michael perform in Sydney, 37years after he became the first Marius in Les Miz and he is still drop dead gorgeous and still has his magnificent voice. His Empty Chairs at Empty Tables moved me to tears

A brilliant rendition of this song!
I prefer the version he once did where he sang the tune that the backing singers used for the final verse. It lifted the song for me from well-sung but monotonous to tuneful. I think he did the version I like in his1993 Christmas concert.
