I lost my son December 29th due to a heart attack. He was 49. Officially he really died December 22nd. They brought him back after being without oxygen for 22 minutes. So he was on life support through the holidays for a week. I say all this to let you know that hearing you talk about God has helped me. This is the worst thing that has ever happened in my life I will never get over it. It was God's plan but I don't know why. Thank you for being here and listening. Hearing you talk about your loss of animals. Whether it is animals or humans or anything loss is real. Prayers for your family.

Rae, do you remember Daniel Arms telling everyone about him loaning out Rufus, his Alpaca and Issac, his beautiful goat to a summer camp? When it came time for them to come home, Rufus was found shot and had passed away, but Issac was nowhere to be found? As time moved on, there were reports of a goat that was seen in a remote area. Turns out the goat was issac! He managed to survive on his own. Daniel and a friend rescued Issac, and he is back home. I hope this gives you hope regarding the two missing piggies. May I suggest having the boys make large posters about the missing pigs? People often are more caring and helpful when something pertains to children. Put the posters on your fence so everyone who drives or walks down the road can see them. I pray they will be found soon.
They also somehow end up in animal shelters farther than you’d think they would be.

Tears are streaming down my face. Animals are such a comfort! I have really bad anxiety. Not all the time, but when I get triggered, it's bad. God's got y'all. He's got me too. We all just need to remind each other.

Look at all the incarcerated Christians who are firm believers but still took the wrong path, on the same subject there are nonbelievers who live their lives as Christians would but with one difference. So again, if it's the right thing to do a person will do it without thinking about it because it's who they are.

I am so sad about Maggie and Annie. I cried when it heard the two were missing. I totally understand why Rae has had a rough time with the loss of the piggies. Chad, your parents did a wonderful job raising you three boys along with the love of Jesus. It is so much fun going along with you feeding, etc. Being able to keep up with you and family makes my day, weeks and months. Loss is part of farm life, we cannot protect everything we love, I love my chickens like Rae loves her pigs, just a few weeks ago a mink got in my coop killed most of my flock in one night I was hysterical for three days my beloved husband and grand daughter went and got me baby chicks, I hatched 7 of those eggs from my lost hens, my favorite hen was among my loss I completely understand sending hugs to Rae to you get more babies in the future it won’t replace her loss but it will help heal with time love you all
I went thru four rounds of chemo last summer. Your videos and others got me thru them. I’ve become so attached to you and your daily lives. When things happen to you I feel your pain. You are all in my prayers.
Chad, you and you family don’t owe us anything, the individual who likes to complain needs to remember that. It is an absolute joy to watch your content. It is a privilege that you share your family and animals with us, I for one feel extremely grateful that you do. Rae, I watched how you are with those piggies, how you are with all your animals. No one I have ever witnessed (I was in animal rescue) loves animals more purely and more fiercely than you. I’m so very sorry Maggie and Annie are missing. Pigs are the most intelligent animals ever. It wouldn't even surprise me if they didn"t just turn up one day. They can certainly find food and survive the cold. Praying for Chad and Rae too, especially that only kind comments are made. Love to you too ❤❤❤
I just wanted to say how very sorry I am for everything you guys have endured and are going through. I initially found your channel way back when you guys had a livestock guardian dog - which initially drew me to your channel....I have been hooked ever since. I do not have a homestead , farm however a livestock guardian dog who is the best dog I have ever had....getting to my point of this long text is I have suffered great losses through my life one of which was my husband to had passed away while I was at work and my 12 yr old daughter found him. At the time, I worked in OKC approximately an hours drive to my home when I got the call - the point I am trying to make is it is not what you go through in your life....BUT....how you come out it. I told my self that evening I can either sink or swim....and I have chosen to swim....which is what you and your family is doing. My apologies for this long long comment but I wanted to share this. grateful that you have the Lord in your life to give you strength, guidance and Love.
I understand loss. In 2016,
my husband was found to have stage 4 liver cancer. It was detected in May and he passed July 14th of that year. One year and 4 days after his passing, his/our beautiful dog also passed. 2 years after that, my little
Shih Tzu whom I had for many years, also passed away.
In 2023, my little Pomeranian that I had had for 18 years, also passed away.
The loss and loneliness I feel is daunting at times.
I am currently an 81 year old widow and people will not allow me any peace. There are those who keep track of my comings and goings and when I leave my home they come in and steal. Because my vision is failing, I can no longer drive.
I am truly blessed by my Lord
But despite all the issues, I am truly blessed, as are you. My prayers are with you both

I understand what Rae is feeling. I had an incident with a cat that just tore me up. I didn’t do anything wrong but when you lose a beloved pet it is just heart wrenching. I FELT I was responsible even though my head told me I could not have changed anything. But life is never a given and you just have to make the most of it while you have it, that’s true for people and pets.

Things happen on a farm animals death, animals birth, and sometimes; our dogs or in this case Maggie and Izzy go missing. Pigs are smart and they may just show up one day. Y'all have been through a lot and I'm so happy to know your getting this house and land and moving forward. I know Y'all heart still hurts from the fire and it will for quite awhile. Praise God! I go out of my way to make sure my chickens are healthy happy and safe I even have cameras on them . I get it I have cried buckets of tears over losing one of my animals . It’s devastating watching Rae hurt over something that wasn’t her fault. She’d never have done anything detrimental to those pigs. you guys have our hearts on this and I hope Rae finds peace over this. I know and so do many of our community here do know that you’ll do you best on the new property and your best by the animals. It’s also just a full time job keeping CJ from unaliving himself. Special needs cow that he is. 💕 keep on going.

Good lord June was running down the hill so fast I thought she was going to hit the brakes and slide down. I'm starting with the prayers for a safe return for the 2 pig girls. I know I won't be alone and I believe. All the moving parts are moving. And we know why. Nuff said. We don't always get to know why things happen and when or if we do it's not on our own time. Yet there are the times when we do get to know and must see undeniably that miracles Do happen. Every day. Rae don't say sorry say God can.

Oh my, I haven't been getting to know you that long and I'm crying. I feel so incredibly bad for Rae! I'm so sorry Rae. I'm sitting here thinking about the time our dog ran off when I was a child, long chain in tow into the corn field. She was gone for weeks. So long that my father took in another lost dog just to make us less sad. Then out of the blue, she showed up, still towing that chain behind her and skinnier than you can imagine. So I'm going to keep faith that Rae's darlings will do the same. Safe and sound. When I lost my first chicken, I cried my eyes out out and prayed for my sweet Eggy to stay with me. She did for months later but I was prepared. Now I know, it is a cycle of life. I have named all my girls and been a chicken mama for 4-5 yrs.

I am one that discovered you thru Daniels' AFH channel and I am so glad I did; I love the fact you are not ashamed to show your vulnerability and your love for our Lord and Savior - so many people need to hear these messages. I love watching you and Rae together - like a couple of kids sometimes but there is nothing wrong with that. I love seeing the interactions with all the animals and it always brings a smile to my face. Keep being who you are and I know God is with you every step of the way. I admit it took me some time (I am 67) but I do know who is in charge and it is not me. Bless you and your family

I think i've been living a "homestead life" through y'all. I love what you do. You've taught me and everyone so much. I too experience God's tender mercies. After 12 years of living in FL without any family around, my youngest daughter and son-in-law invited me to go live with them on their property. It's in the country in Missouri. They want me (among other things) to raise chickens! I have always wanted to do that. I know nothing about it, but your parents, and brothers and of course you, give me courage to strap on my boots, roll up my sleeves, and learn as I go. (And thanks for your updates on the chicken door. i think I'll look for a different company). I'll end my coment with this, I sure love and admire you both. I wish I could give you all hugs. God be with you always. I know He is and knows your names.

Dude I wished I could have reached out and give your wife a huge hug as well as you been praying for you all 🙏🙏 and I know animals are not easy to take care of and keep track of even if you would have been there , but you can't know if they were taken when they got out , it could have been some one that didn't know who's they were and they may have been broke and in need

Chad you and your family have given me the inspiration to be a better person. I believe in our Lord and I believe what you do, how and when you do it is exactly what you need to do. I am in the process of starting my own channel and I am someone who lays it out there as I see it. I hope that the content that I create will give a picture into my life here in Northeast Iowa as a retired teacher.
