- Maria Callas sings "Come'è lunga l'attesa...Mario, su presto! (end of act III) from Puccini's Tosca.

"I'll pick it up later"

You know what's really cool about the Curtains Down mission in Hitman: Blood Money...
This is from the end of the opera, where Tosca and Cavaradossi are lovers, he's to be executed, but Tosca organises with someone else that the execution is to be a sham, that the firing squad are going to fire blanks. Tosca instructs Cavaradossi to play dead when the shots are fired. After the officers leave, she rushes to his body, expecting her beloved alive and well, and they will escape from Rome to live happily ever after. Only it turns out that the person with whom she organised the sham execution betrays her, and soldiers used real bullets, killing Cavaradossi. Anyway, she finds out, and goes mad, and kills herself.
But anyway, how meta is that, it's like you replace blank bullets with real bullets in a dramatisation of a mock execution where blanks are replaced for real bullets.
Actually i think she kills herself to not be caught by the soldiers who found out she killed Scarpia
@@spfqr4977 and also to be with Mario in heaven, which you could interpret as madness depending on your view of religion.

The fact that you do this in the mission curtains down is just... Perfect😁
P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N!!! This is how real singing is suppose to be, I can imagine everything she is doing on stage without being able to see her, every emotion and expression to show any emotions is present in her voice. This is the magic of Callas....the only singer that has been able to literately breath life into every character. That last high notes is so thick and metallic it cuts through the orchestra like an axe though butter.
Agreed - except for the 'only'! Callas shares that accolade with Tito Gobbi, sans doute!
La Callas è una dea. Questo nessuno può negarlo 💖💖💖
I have been living very near to Puccini house, at Torre del Lago in Viareggio for one year and the place is so charming and lovely. I am in love with Giacomo Puccini.
Ecco cosa era Maria Callas. Stupenda immortale regina dell'opera.
1:13 R.I.P Alvado D' Alvade
Lol😂😂
that final note is the biggest dramtical point in all this opera love it viva callas
mai piu' nessuna come lei DIVINA !
Oh my God! I still get chills when I hear Callas do this. The role was created for her. Was there ever such a Tosca, before or since? Brava CALLAS!
Yes Callas = Tosca
Callas...the mere mention of her name evokes greatness! There never was a Tosca like this before or after her. VIVA CALLAS PER SEMPRE!!!!!!
I´m agree to many comments here, When I hear "Tosca", the first picture that comes in my mind, is Callas killing Scarpia and the last phrase "Oh Scarpia davanti a dio!".
This is the best Tosca ever, this is the human treasure history, that deserves to be saved..... thanks for this posting
Whenever I hear this it reminds me of Alvaro D'Alvade getting his brains blown out by accident.
Tosca perfecta.👌🏻❤️🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
O Scarpia avanti a Dio! CALLAS FOREVER!!!!!!
Twice the hairs on my neck stood while listening to a classical piece. Once was my first time listening to Beethoven's the 5th. This - the gem of opera singing, the consummate, ultimate diva of the opera - is my second.
Wow that gun shot scared the shit out of me. I wasn't expecting one that loud!
The text says it... ECCO UN'ARTISTA.....
Callas is simply unsurpassed here and it feels as if she is referring to herself saying ECCO UN'ARTISTA with such enphasis.
It drives me crazy! Think I' ve shed more tears on that single phrase than any other full operas in the world lol
“I just had to grab something from the pockets, ill grab it later.”
Лучшие из лучших!!! К сожалению таких уже не ...
"What an artist!" she cries...

A lungo andare la vita da a ognuno quel che merita, nel bene e nel male. Io aspetto.
Maria Kalogeropoulou was Maria Callas' Greek name. I think it's better she made it short so it's easy to remember.

@kalaschnikowa47 Politics.
such a limited view -- "screaming"
ah, Callas defined techniques - yes until 1959.
who restored Bel Canto?
Poor Joan in the sixties when she had to follow Callas in her signature roles.
Ah, Aida in Mexico City? hmmmmm
Joan scooped into her high notes during the last 15 years of her career.
Eh?
hahaha....why? :-D
......°_° are u drunk?
It's really pathetic when a groupie has to discredit a singer in favour of another.
Sutherland had some flaws too, for example singing things she didn't have the voice for ie: transposing down the Queen of the night was quite pathetic.
Next to that, she sang any language the same way: incomprehensible.
To say her diction was bad is the biggest understatement in history.
I don't say Callas is perfect but neither was Sutherland or any other singer in the world.
Maria hated Tosca haha Maria said that she was a clown...
Lmfao She literally never said that like ever. She said the “aria Vissi D’Arte interrupts the emotional flow of an otherwise great opera” but she never said she hated the opera.
@@LaDivinaLover No, Maria didn't like the _character_ of Tosca. She said that Tosca is a jealous woman that always screams...
🍌
I always thought Sutherland and Nilsson were so alike, that is if Sutherland had been a woman
there are places only maria callas can take you to ....
no
Siiiii
