Wouldn't have thought Indonesia could be a competitor. That said, the negative points (also exisiting in Argentina) are worst than anywhere else in the world it seems like : corruption / violence... sucks.
Not to speak about the level of the local league. Most of these players wouldn't make it in the third or fourth division of my country (Belgium) it's kind of crazy how much support they still get. Must be something nice to experience for sure.

Any player from my village team (4th Belgian division) could play in your first division.
The foreign top goalscorer of your league (Aleksandar Rakić) failed last season in... the 2nd division of Israel ! lol Shows how very bad your league and local players are. BUT once again : the support is amazing and if I was an average pro player, I would definitely want to play at least 1 or 2 seasons in Indonesia to experience the ambience.

Indonesian domestic football is consisted from 25% corruption, 20% bribery, 30% match-fixing, and 20% violence. Almost every supporter group has been growing violence culture in the name of loyalty. And don't forget that corruption also takes part of it because when a punishment sentenced to a club which it's supporter doing a violence, the federation could erase the punishment easily. That's why Indonesian national team never achive any silverware in many years, unlike it's junior such as U-16 or U-19.

From looking at this documentary I think the problem is deeper. When I see people with young children in the middel of some sort of riot it shows me that people dont realise how dangerous it is or that they accept the danger. Reminds me of a story from the english riots were they broke in a jewellery and formed a nice line to get in and loot, haha even in a riot they are programmed to organise. I think in some countries its way more unorganised and when 10.000 people all go their own way and not follow rules you get fights. Also women fighting as hooligans? Cant they just do a 1 on 1 with a woman and man and just let these women feel what a man can do to them, they need to be protected from themselves. This shows me they have now idea what they are getting themselves in to.

Persija Jakarta is NOT the only football club in Jakarta. There's Persitara Jakarta Utara (North Jakarta) which currently plays in the third division. There's also an amateur club Persija Barat (West Jakarta). There was also Pelita Jaya Jakarta, which changed name and locations 11 times in their history and now is called Madura United FC (Pamekasan, Madura). And there was a Persijatim (East Jakarta), which moved to form Sriwijaya FC (Palembang, South Sumatra) and went on to win the Indonesian top league twice but was relegated to second division in 2018.

Persitara once played alongside Persija in the top league too.
But probably he referred Persija as the only major football club in Jakarta

In a country where the majority loves the game, it's kinda funny that the majority also hates these kinds of supporters. They are a disgrace to the beautiful game. Taking toddlers to the stadium where death is a possibility, to the stadium where it's so packed it's definitely dangerous, just shows the level of education or just a sense of awareness as a human being. The organisation is a corrupt pathetic mess, while the "organised" fans are equally pathetic , thinking taking lives is normal, destroying stadium, even the city streets are normal. As a person born and raised in Jakarta, I used to support this team, I was there 17 years ago when this team lifts the trophy before, but now, not one bit I'm interested in this league. Not one bit I'm happy or proud with this win, and not one bid I'm proud of Jakmania. My interest in this club, or even the whole league has decrease to virtually zero. These "Jakartans" don't deserve this city, and all they do is messing up the streets, the stadium, and other people's life.

None of them sacrifice their lives for Persija, and none of them get paid.
All those victims lives were force taken over by someone who loss their mind and faith.
Those victims didn't get paid, at least not by dirty money. They only sincerety got paid by pride of being Part of Persija Jakarta, and happiness whenever Persija win the match or championing the league or cup.
I also The Jak Mania, supporting Persija and Timnas, but I don't want to sacrifice my life for this club, me and probably all the victims supporting this club with the correct way actually. Until some of Viking and even The Jack loss their humanity and again the faith as the most powerful fence of our life for not to do all the bad things, and keep doing good.
Don't make any comments, although assumption if you don't know for sure.
Please respect those victims, they're good people and don't share any slander related to them.

Indonesian football is not always chaotic bro lots of beauty, cohesiveness and brotherhood that can be seen if you get closer. enough to cover the ugliness of Indonesian football in the world bro, it was only the fault of the Indonesian political elite who failed to maintain the order of supporters in Indonesia at that time. the essence of Indonesian football is not too bad when you look further sometime you come and may see for yourself how the atmosphere in Indonesia that teaches us about loyalty, brotherhood, and loyalty may be brotherhood and love of peace yesterday is problematic because of the political elite and hopefully in the future it can be better and sportier. the enemy is only 90 minutes the rest we club and supporters are all brothers. merdeka indonesia✊
