Obviously, there is a big difference in price, likely for a reason. However, all of the reviews that I have read seem mostly positive. I will say this that this kind of device is probably not suited for the average backyard installer. The average person does not know how to even properly set amplifier gains, much less something like this. If you don't set your head unit so that you know at what volume it will clip and dial it back so that you get maximum undistorted output, you can't set your amps so they will not clip and every other piece in the signal chain. Every piece in the chain will simply introduce more distortion (clipping) at increasing levels. If a badly clipped signal gets to your subwoofer, it is toast.
