    First: If all else fails, read the included instructions. Second: The directions state to pour your liquid in first. Third: The instructions explain how to fix a blade “jam”. Fourth: You can purchase the drinking lid & the insulated sleeve.

      Heya Frost. Thanks for chiming in. All valid concerns. I did follow the instructions in the little booklet, actually. Yes, you pour liquid in first, and that is because it helps different types of stuff blend properly when you have a lot of ingredients with different textures. In this case, it was pretty much just frozen fruit and milk. Regardless of what order you put those into the container, you will still have both of those things positioned the same way in there regardless of what goes in first. Also, if wouldn't have really mattered in that smoothie test, because the blade stopped instantly. It never really even tried to turn. My guess is that it got caught on the end of a strawberry right away and that's what caused it. Frozen strawberries can be harder than ice, and that would be asking a lot of a portable blender to power through that. I mentioned in the video that it shouldn't really be counted against that blender too much though, because it isn't designed to handle stuff that hard, and I was only including that for people would end up asking about that if I didn't put it in there. The extra liquid in the second round of that helped quite a bit, but then it stopped due to the mix just getting a little too thick for it. The blade jam fixes in the instructions didn't help in this case. I had to end up pouring everything out, manually turning the blade, and then plugging the blender in to reset it in order to get it to work again. I saw the lids and sleeves on their website, and although those are good accessories, I couldn't really use that in the review since they don't come with it. Adding those in will also bring the cost up, and then it gets into price ranges of higher end portables. Definitely, I should have mentioned it anyway, so that was a mistake on my part. I don't hate the blender though. It has a niche that it can fill really well. The whole point was to make sure people don't expect it to do everything that a countertop blender can do since there are always people that think that.

      To be fair though, putting the liquid in first like the directions say does make a difference. It's bc it keeps some of the weight of the frozen/solid items off of the blades directly. When you put the solids in first it's compacting onto the blades harder. You're also supposed to flip it upside down and press the button to start blending it while it's upside down to free the blades and then turn it back over WHILE it's blending.@@JoesPhenomenal

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 4 měsíci

      @thedisnerd4296 also the liquid going in first naturally limits the amount of other ingredients that fit in there.. Probably helps tons. Agree with ya though! 😊

    It seems fairly obvious that you already had a negative opinion before you started. If you read the directions, they recommend letting the fruit thaw for 5 to 10 seconds for an easier blend. For the price, it's fine for the convenience of a portable blender. Shaking it a bit once or twice during blending isn't quite as onerous as you would like us to believe. There's a sipping lid available, but if I make a particularly thick drink, a large smoothie straw is easy to use in the open container. I can't see why you wouldn't finish your drink in one sitting (it's not like you're blending a gallon), but how hard is it to pour into another container for storage? And what was the point of complaining about the process of making nut butter when you stated that it wasn't part of the product's uses? I'm very satisfied with my BlendJet 2 and feel your nit-picking lacked objectivity.

    • @JoesPhenomenal

      Most people expect blenders to handle frozen ingredients. That's why that was included in there. I was sure to stress that fact that it isn't for that. If you feel I had a negative opinion from that start, I suppose that's fair, but I suspect that your opinion on thta might be a little intensified because you like it. That's totally cool. I get that way myself about things as well. I didn't have a negative opinion of it that way though... Otherwise I wouldn't have played down the money for it. I did mention that it's decent for what it's designed for though and thta it just wasn't for me... I also prefaced the review by saying not to go by just my opinion since everyone values different things and to check out other reviews also before making any kind of decisions. I know they have the sipping lid, but it doesn't come with it, so I can't comment on that much... Finishing in one sitting should be expected if you're talking about a travel blender... At least in my case, 14oz would be a single serve... But maybe I'm just a hog or something... Lol... Anyway, I do appreciate your critiques... I always take all that into account and try to do better next time. I'm glad you took the time to comment.

    I’ve have two BlendJets and they’re still going great after two years! It’s rechargeable- in Australia, our powerbpards have USB sockets, so the cable is fine. You have a choice of lids that you clearly haven’t seen. The charge port is on the front so you can see when it’s fully charged. I love my Blendjet2! 😍❤️❤️🇦🇺

    I love my BlendJets. Started out with one for myself, ended up getting 12 more for gifts. I also ended up getting another one for myself for at the office. I found when blending frozen fruit, turn it as it's blending. I never stick knives or spoons in the blender, I don't want to ruin the blades. Just make sure you have enough liquid in the blender when doing the frozen fruit. Remember, it's not a full size blender, and it won't do what a full size blender does. Trim your expectations and enjoy :)

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci +3

      That's awesome that you gave those out at gifts... You are a super thoughtful person to have done that. The way you described your use with the Blendjet2 sounds exactly like what is it DESIGNED to do. Slightly thawed frozen stuff... Lots of liquid... Not expecting full size blender results... That's kinda the point I was trying to get across.

  • @nyjazzman
    @nyjazzman Před 5 měsíci +9

    Have Blendjet 2 for about a month, with no problems. I made sure to read the directions carefully, and made all the things you tried here, with no difficulties - frozen fruits, crushed ice, multiple ingredients, etc. Important to put the liquid in first! And don't stuff all the contents in all the way to the brim. I think you'll get way better results.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Typically, yes... very true. If you're only dealing with a couple of ingredients, it doesn't make that much difference, It's mainly to make sure things don't go unblended. If you're doing a thicker smoothie with frozen fruit, that fruit will most likely not float.. and if that's the case, it won't make a difference... Just depends how thick you like your smoothies. The Blendet isn't designed for super Jamba Juice style thick frozen smoothies though. That's ok though. That's not what it's for... Doesn't mean that I think it's a bad blender. Just that people can't expect it to do that sort of thing, because I suspected a lot of people would try to. That's the only reason I included that.

    I have the original BlendJet, and I love it! It's really strong, and it quits after about 20 seconds. I plug mine into the same plug that I use for my phone. (Yes, it really should have come with one.)
    Best jobs are small smoothies, dalgona coffee, and whipping heavy cream.
    To clean, pour in some water. Add tiny bit of dish soap. Fill up with more water. Blend. When it quits, rinse completely, then fill up again. Blend. Done!
    I do not drink out of this. It is a BLENDER. I drink out of a GLASS.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci

      I did... Didn't work for the jams. Nut butters were problematic due to the size of the blades. That did a lot better with added oil, but without that, it was a little too much for it.

    I add the liquid first. Then the powder. Then the fruit. Then the ice. To un-jam, shake it, flip it upside down, turn it on, and slowly move it back to upright position while blending. Orbiter lid is available for purchase. To clean, just blend some warm water + a drop of soap. 😉

    If you would have been using this thing as instructions say, maybe you would not destroy it. For frozen fruits and stuff, well liquid always goes in first, and before you start blending, you can turn it upside down, then press the button, then turn it back, so it will not get stuck so easily.

Just right for one serving, So to answer your concern about having to unscrew the lid to drink, and having to drink over the threads, BlendJet II has a solution for both - they just come at an additional price which I was happy to pay since it wasn’t very much. They also have a carry bag that can clip onto your bag, or slip inside your bag.😊

    It's not a Vitamix. They show fresh fruit being blended. And the port in the front with the button just may be because it was an easier design to have the electric parts on one side. Don't forget there's a motor in there that's doing all the work.

      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci

      I thought the port location was a little funny since the Ninja Blast does have it on the back... Otherwise I'd agree with ya on that one. The only reason the frozen fruit stuff is in there is so people thta expect it to power through that stuff would know it might not be right for them.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Heya, KC. Never a dinosaur, my friend. haha. I did that test to show that people wanting to make super thick smoothie shop type stuff, might be disappointed. Those hard frozen strawberries were the culprit on that. When I left those out completely, it seemed fine with the smaller berries, even without letting them thaw. That was way better.... I tend to go for the really thick, cold stuff that you really need a bunch of ice or harder frozen stuff to make, so to do that, the rules gotta be broken a little for the portables. The Ninja Blast ended up doing better on that stuff than the Blendjet did, but the Blendjet has a better feature set and is more compact.

    Read the instructions! It isn’t a problem at all not having an adaptor. Surely you have adapters you can use!! You can plug it in anywhere. Why is it so difficult having to take the lid off to drink it. You don’t have to fill it up completely if you just want a smaller drink. I haven’t seen anything that says to put it in a dishwasher! I think you are nit picking! And who just had a sip of a smoothie at a time! It isn’t water! Mine was charged when I first used it. I love it, fits my needs and a nice looking portable blender.,

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The problem with the blender wasn't the stack order. It was fine with the softer stuff small frozen fruits, but the larger, hard frozen strawberries gave it some fits. Still a decent little blender though, and it's isn't really designed for hard blends anyway, so I woudn't knock it for that... Definitely has it's uses though! The adapter may not be an issue for most people, but I have to mention it since it may be for others.. The instructions say the container is dishwasher safe, but dishwashers will cloud plastic over time. That's the same for any of these companies though... Hand washing is always better on your stuff. Wasn't trying to nit-pick and I'm sorry if it seemed that way, but when I do these, I have to kind of play devils advocate and try to think of anything that might put someone off, so it ends up looking that way a lot of times. At the end of the day, just trying to make sure people know what to expect. Thanks for the thoughful comment though! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and write it!

    I brought it for juicing and occasionally thaw frozen fruit, I don’t except it to make thick smoothie or to blend frozen stuff well. You definitely need to add enough water unless the fruit that you’re blending have a lot of liquid then you can decrease the amount of liquid. Otherwise, even cucumber or watermelon will get stuck if they are at a weird angle. Shaking it is almost mandatory. I got it for the small size, not making smoothies, expectations that it won’t blend as well as a full size blender. Otherwise you’ll be very disappointed, it serves the purpose for me so I’m satisfied.

      The shaking and rotating didn't help with the thicker stuff. Not enough power to get through that, but like I said, it's not for super thick Jamba Juice style stuff. Not a knock against it, it's just not for it. I saw the lid on the website, but I couldn't use it for this since it doesn't come with it. If I did, I'd have to also factor in the extra cost for that, and it would have to compare to high end stuff which wouldn't be fair at all. I still should have mentioned that lid though. It's pretty nice.

      Typically, yes.

    Good review. I figured it was junky. Love my old Vitamix. Please investigate what is going on with the Ninja Creami Breeze model which has been discontinued bc of them starting fires! Ninja is quietly replacing them quickly if this happens. Mine is working and it’s great but scary stuff. I like your Creami reviews!

      Thanks! I betcha they have some sort of ventilation problem with it. Likely, it's the same motor as before, so it would have to be something like that, I would think. Is it the breeze in general or is it the newer version of the breeze, I wonder.

    It's rechargable, on the go, for 1 serving and works well if you don't overfill it with hard AF fruits. It's not a full electric powered blender... no idea why all of you have the expectation of it doing the job of a full blown blender. Pretty stupid tbh 🤷‍♀️ it says clearly what its used for... use it like it shows. It's because or reviews like this that companies have bad reputation for no good reasons. Sad.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci +1

      You did see me mention 3 times that it isn't designed for hard frozen fruit and that it shouldn't be held against it if it had problems with it, right? And that it's only in the video for people that might not realize that since they would be bound to ask about it? I even said it was good for what it does, but it doesn't suit my needs personally... Sounds like maybe you got the the struggle part and stopped watching because of that... I get it though. That's understandable. On a related note, the Ninja Blast did surprisingly well on that same stuff... The Blendjet had better features though.

      @@JoesPhenomenal oh no! I watched your video until the end 😊 I watched another reviews and it was able to blend baby carrots (in water obviously) perfectly. • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 5 měsíci

      @MissK0la oh heck yeah... For the price, it's a great little travel blender... Just can't expect crazy things from it is all. I think it's great for protein shakes after the gym. Also it handles frozen stuff OK as long as it isn't super hard stuff like strawberries. It was fine with smaller stuff like blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.

  • @paulhughes3961
    @paulhughes3961 Před 3 měsíci +1

    You need 8 oz of liquid for it to mix completely. Maybe you should have used it more before you did the review. And reading the instructions might have been worth your time.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 3 měsíci

      Heya Paul... Read all that.. The problem was that 8oz of liquid is way too much to produce super thick smoothies... I did mention in the review that the blender isn't designed for that kind of thing though. It's a great little blender... People just can't expect it to perform like a powerful tabletop one. That was just in the video to show people not to expect it to be able do that sort of thing. Otherwise it would disappoint people that wanted that.

    I saw a commercial for this, directing it to kids. Huh? This thing has a spinning sharp blade, and now you want kids to use it? I think this company is bonkers. Also, how is a 'portable blender' a good idea? You're just going to wander around picking up fruits here and there and stick it in? LOL. Most likely, you're going to be going to the grocery store, and then buying the fruit to bring home.
