And also tbh I kinda consider heroes as part of the adventure era as everyone else agrees on that but I don’t think the modern era starts until either shadow 05 sonic 06 or if we’re stretching then secret rings

Amy character change in Frontiers she now a respectful character and Sonic has feelings for Amy
I like to imagine that Knuckles wasn't in Unleashed because he was on his floating island. He didn't notice that the world was broken apart and floaty because his island is always like that- completely oblivious hehehe
But no I really wish Sega would have leaned more into character writing and story- it's my favorite part of a videogame! I play Sonic because I like the characters and the world! I was so disappointed to only see Tails here and there.
Frontiers is a huge step forward for story telling! Even for Amy! They ditched her creepy stalker personality~ AND added dialogue that Sonic actually enjoys her company- they actually feel like mutual friends for once 💀 Of course I can't wait for when she gets more major roles too... Baby steps!!! As bad as Boom was, I think it's thank to Boom that got us here. It was very heavy on character interactions and whatnot! Lots of fun dynamics there.
Sonic and Amy have always been friends 💀 , can’t believe how actually believe that sonic the chill headed , noble hero would genuinely have a hatred for Amy 😂 , if sonic hated Amy he would let her drown in x, or would try to sage her from eggman in sa2 etc, why do people genuinely think this 🤣 did we forget about lost world where’s he genuinely sad that Amy and Kncukles didn’t respond when he called them , he thought they died and he was pretty sad, “baby steps” they’ve changed their dynamic for over 13 years now 😭
@@naitsabes6222 Oh! No I wasnt suggesting that he HATED her. If they weren't friends, why would they hang out so much? And even if he did hate her, I doubt he'd let her drown or die places lmao they clearly care for each other! It's really not so black and white.
I just mean to say that: in the past Amy has done and said things that makes Sonic GENUINELY uncomfortable. It's visible through dialogue and body language. Don't get me wrong, I haven't played every title yet, but from everything I've seen so far, their dynamic has mostly been: Amy is persuing a romantic relationship, and Sonic is... Not so interested in anything beyond a friendship. Even if he is, he hasn't made any advances on his behalf, and yet she doesn't let up.... It's present in the anime and games! It just makes me feel bad for BOTH of them, so I'm glad to see their friendship become more organic in newer games!
@@patch141Sonic's only felt uncomfortable with Amy's extra affectionate part. The stranggling hugs essentially. She's one of his closest friends. And he does actually like her, he's just too young to settle down. He's had moments where he agrees to go on dates with her. People just over judge Amy's temper.

Also I love the way this video is! It feels more genuine, because the visuals aren’t over-edited and the mic quality feels closer to what I’d hear on a discord call, Basically. (I Hope that’s not taken as rude I don’t mean it that way 😔) The music *is* a tad loud, but not so much that my slight auditory processing issues make it unwatchable lol! Good job dude!
Also I know this doesn’t matter tbh but Im currently working through playing sa2 while streaming it to a friend of mine (which is why I’m working through it. If I was a loner I’d have finished that game 3 times over by now bc I love sonic haha) and even though I already have heard everything that happens long before I got it I still was absolutely jumpscared by the truck at the start and have found it very enjoyable throughout so far :D

Great video, but there's one thing that I think you could've improve on. The music, ironically like Sa2 is very loud and it's kind of hard to understand what you said at some points, especially the Amy section. But keep it up, I like your video style!

9:26 idk why people call Amy a stalker then act likes tails didn’t chase sonic at all in his life 🤣 I do understand why since Amy was more impulsive most just in (heroes, rush) but she really dosent chase this man as you see and it’s not taken seriously by any of the characters , sega of Jp didn’t give care at all when writing Amy this era if they found it funny that Amy wants to fight sonic in a big nonsense Battle for marriage they did it and didn’t care 🤣, the worse is def battle someone at sega either hated Amy or thought they were writing comedic gold , it’s sad how much damage it did to her reputation 😭 ,now she’s just been reduced to this boring mature mom of the group
yea i agree, especially with the last part. amy is significantly younger than sonic and yet she feels too serious nowadays. her childish crush on sonic really made it apparent that she was still just a kid, and this is made even more so with how sonic doesnt even give it a second thought when dismissing her. if they wanted to tone down her crush, id atleast wish for a specific reason as to why such as a real character arc rather than the writers erasing that aspect of her character randomly.
The stalker part never made sense to me. Amy was obsessed with Sonic, but that's not the same as stalking. Sonic is literally a guy who's always on the move and never stays in a single place for so long, and the only time Amy happens to find him is when his guard is down, it would make sense why Amy would always have to chase someone who's always on the move. Otherwise how would she be apart of the adventure or even get the chance to throw out her advances toward him? The ENTIRE point of the dynamic was that Sonic and Amy were incompatible, but Amy wanted to find a way anyway. She literally wanted to keep the guy known for always being on the move tied down and their views were different. Amy wanted a more hands on and her idea was to enjoy every moment, while Sonic always likes to move and be on the run.
Plus what makes the stalker claim even MORE weird is that Amy didn't just follow Sonic's every move or everywhere he went, even though her goal was finding out where he was. In Adventure 1 she fantasizes about him, but in a way a young girl would dream about their idol. In Adventure 2, she only goes to Prison Island to rescue Sonic, it wasn't like she followed and found him, her intention was to rescue him and help out. In Heroes Team Rose had a reason to chase Sonic down, to get answers about missing friends, while Amy does use it as an opportunity to seek Sonic, the fact they had a reason beyond that doesn't make Amy a stalker. The Riders games also had Amy have a reason to be with Sonic beyond following him around. The only time I'd say she borders on that are Sonic Battle, Free Riders and Rush, games that already write her in a bad light any way. Even Sonic X Amy gets criticism for being a stalker, which makes NO sense because she is seeing all times as apart of the group, regularly lives in the Thorndyke residence and actively gets invited on missions, namely accompanying Tails on the tornado.
The problem with modern Amy is that her character SOLELY exist to appeal to fans who dislike her to begin with, not in any way making her a better character. All they did was make her a different character with her most defining feature being female, and just give her the most stereotypical female archetype. The generic female voice of reason who's defined by kindness (which was the most generic way to write a female character back in like the 70s-90s, especially in sitcoms or action shows, the female is just the empathetic voice of reason), yeah they have more "casual" banter, but its coming off the heels of two different characters than previously. Especially since Amy feels less like a mature version of herself and feels like someone else completely. She literally has NO character and fans often equate this to her having character, when beyond just saying "she's mature and calm" down ever list what her character is beyond those claims and not liking Sonic. Which to me proves that she has no character. And what Amy has turned in NOW is more tropey and generic than the "Aggressive fangirl" trope. Which tbh has devolved into people inserting political agendas for the sake of ranting on systemic issues, which is not what the dynamic was doing at all. It also sets this notion that Amy isn't allowed to have any other emotions that are kind or worried, which feels rather sexists as its saying a female character MUST always be that way to be considered valuble, while male characters can exhibit negative traits and its perfectly fine. (Unless it just devolves them being one note)
As a side note, being immature doesn't automatically make a character bad, IDK why people use absolutes and double standards when it comes to Amy, yet rant at her being the latter.
