This film was released during the peak of my 4-year relationship with my first love, my high school sweetheart. We met in 1974, by 1976 our love was in full bloom, and by 1978 we had grown apart. This was "our" film. We talked about it over and over, how much we loved the songs. Seeing this trailer today reminds me of that simpler, beautiful time when we were teens, our whole lives ahead of us. She passed away in 2015 due to breast cancer but I will never forget her, with this film's soundtrack as one of the many great reminders of that time.

@@hsojnitram8071 out of ALL the singers nowadays Lady Gaga is the only right option.. Even Beyonce (which was the option for Clint Eastwood's remake of this) is deemed as a bad actress
I can only think of Gaga doing this she literally is the most multi-talented female of this generation

A favorite movie ever!! The chemistry between these two is so intense and the music is amazing.
The real Star !! Iconic and irreplaceable ! No one one can sing like Barbara ! Breathtaking !
Remakes are done for more than one reason. For action and sci-fi of course it's because of advancements in special effects. For movies like these it's to connect to the generation of the time. You can't expect a 17 year old to appreciate Streisand or Garland, there's too much of a gap in the social structure. And that said one day 20-30 years from now people will be saying the same about Gaga. That can be said about automobiles, fashion, television, anything molded by society of the time. So don't diss stars and talent of the past, without them you wouldn't have what you worship today.

I couldn't stand the movie when it came out but listening to Babs sing anything is worth the price of admission. One of the truly greatest voices of all time.

The beautiful yet haunting (for me)intro to evergreen reminds me of my mother who left our family in 1978 to be with another man. I was only 5 yrs old. Barbra’s vocals at the beginning of Evergreen will forever stand as my sorrow and wonder for my mom’s departure
I loved the original movie and the new one- different songs . the songs on the old movie made me cry though...especially ... "With one more look at you/watch closely now" by barbra streisand. Makes me think of my mom. RIP MOM

I saw this movie about 2 months ago in anticipation for the new movie coming out. I cried at the end. It was a beautiful love story. I cannot wait until October 5th until the new one comes out.

This reminds me of both of my parents that loved this movie. Probably not as much as I do, but.... I lost both of them recently, and both before they hit 70 years old. So this trailer is bittersweet. I have tickets for the early screening of the 2018 version, and I think it will follow the 76 movie in many ways.
I am sorry for your loss. From experience it is like losing a part of yourself. My solace was that my father's DNA lives on inside of me.
AG + It is AG. The first day I went to leave for work it was raining outside, and I felt hollow. Very sad, and couldn't shake it. Then my mom died 2 days after Christmas in 2015. Now I live in a lonely place, even though I have a daughter and 2 grandchildren. Thanks for your post.

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga both did the most spectacular job in making the movie A Star is Born 2018. And Bradley Cooper really did a great job learning the guitar 🎸and taking voice lessons so everything was live. He said that if he couldn't get Lady Gaga to play the part then there would be no movie. I love you Bradley 💞
(except for : Cooper isn't playing the guitar parts of songs . It's Lukas Nelson.)
This is the best acting music honesty. This new on is so sappy they all just love each other weepy. No one sings like Barbara Streisand ....looks like Kris Krisstoferson and acts like him!

Back when the trailers were 3minutes + with entire scenes included. A great era.
I was 16 when I saw this. Had a profound effect on me. Streisand’s voice unbelievable but think Gaga has done it justice.
I was 16 too. I still remember seeing this in the theatre. I cried in the car the whole way home. I saw the remake. It was good. Loved Gaga and Bradley. They had chemistry but didn't make me cry like Babs and Kris!

This is a cool trailer. I don't agree Barbra & Kris were "mismatched". They went out in real life, way before the movie shot. Like CBS telling Desi that the public will never believe Lucy and he as a couple. Although they were married to each other. The trailer rocks.

showtime951agree. This was the kind of serious role he was looking for his to be taken as a serious actor, and when it finally came, he or the colonel, turned it down. Elvis had a lot of potential as an actor. I think he was good at it.

I can't see him in that role, and frankly, I didn't think he was a strong enough actor to do the part of John Norman. I didn't think he was that great of an actor. Let's put it this way, I can act as well as he could, and that's not saying much. JMHO, however.

I'm picky about music. Wasn't all the wowed with the Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristoppherson version, and I'm pretty sure, I'm going to really NOT like the music on Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper version IF I decide to see it. Not sure I want to. You've seen one version, no need to see another, since the plot is the same, the music isn't.

I loved this movie so much and the music. I played the record (yes vinyl) so much that although I think the new version will be great I just can't bring myself to watch it. ❤
I love you, I hate you. I have got to see this movie again, it's been so long.
The one and only time I saw it was when it came out, and my aunt and I went to go see it. I didn't really want to, but, my Aunt wanted to see it, and so, reluctantly, I agreed. I think I didn't want to admit I liked it more than I thought I would. I didn't think I was going to like it, period, but, I liked it. I would like to see it again, but, don't know if my library carries a copy of it, and I've never thought about it and checking to see if they have it or not. Might check and see. I live in a big city, and the library system is pretty large and extensive, but, I've thought of movies to see, and when I check with the library, they don't have it, which makes me wonder if they would have this particular version. People steal the dvds and sometimes they just don't replace them.
Who else love the version with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga?

Streisand had the good fortune to work with some of the old Hollywood legendary directors and cinematographers who knew how to make movies. She listened and learned.

Streisand was beautiful in her way. Stunning actually. I think GaGa’s look in the movie is reminiscent of her. Neither is classically pretty but has a look that transcends it.

I've seen both versions , still looking for the actual original version . Barbra and Gaga were both amazing .Chris , I knew could sing already , Brad , surprised us with his voice . Yes, he did his own vocals .
