    Hi. Yep, I use those cleaning blocks also. They can be fragile, but great for what you have just shown.

    I have the Adams version. Guessing it’s the same thing. Works pretty well.

    It really is a great tool. I use it on the interior any place a stiff bristle brush isn't quite doing the job. I just used it the other day on the area of the rocker panel that is covered by the door (the part where it's easy to scuff with your shoes when getting in the car). It is a painted surface but because of the location I wasn't afraid to use the eraser. It took the scuffs off inmediately.
    They work great on glass, too!

    I've had the magic eraser in my tool set for years pretty much since I began and never really ever used them. Always went for the scotch scratch free scrubbers. Recently I decided to use it on a trashed interior and was blown away how quick and easy it got up the filth. Now in the last couple weeks I've been going right for the erasers on interiors. You do have to be more careful and they grab more but man they really do erase the junk on leather and plastic.

      We love them! It crazy, same thing with us. I’ve had this pack of erasers for a few years and just started using them🤦🏻‍♂️. I need to get more now that I’m typing this. 🤔

      @@MirandaDetailing yea I even looked at getting the "knock off" bulk box from Amazon years ago but never got them since I never used the name brands ones really. Probably going to have to get a box especially since yea they really don't last long.

    You should try a VLB brush. Small little yellow brush. Is amazing.

    Trying these out tomorrow on some nasty discolored leather. Gonna soak them overnight in some warm water first to soften them up.
    I’ll be sure to be safe and try my horsehair brush first (:

      Cool. As long as you are gentle with them they work great.

    Do you use the eraser on any color leather and after doing a section do u switch to a new 1 or just use that 1 for half the car? Have a few interiors to do this weekend going to try this out

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 5 lety

      Yes we have used it on dark color leather also and it works great. It depends on how rough you use the sponge. Sometime we rub pretty hard and completely destroy the sponge 🤦🏻‍♂️. If you gentle enough and the leather isn’t super nasty it can last you about half maybe more.

    Great video i am wondering if a magic eraser could help me to clean a dashboard that got a bit sticky? i think it had silicone dressings , i tried apc and microfiber cloths remove alot but not all best regards

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 2 lety

      Hi. It’s worth a try just go gentle with it. Sometimes the stickiness on the dash is a factory defect and not necessarily a dressing on it.

      @@MirandaDetailing is indeed i will give it a go gently with a diluted apc .maybe is the soft touch with defect

    You have to be very careful when using Magic Eraser on paint. My wife wanted to remove bug guts from our old car, it removed the bug acid and also the clearcoat and paint. I learned a very good lesson that day.

      Miranda Detailing abrasives especially on leather kinda like burning through the paint

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 5 lety

      Oh I see. No not really, like anything if you’re careful it’s fine. Only on worn down or damaged leather or vinyl can it cause some damage. But I wouldn’t use anything like that in worn/damaged leather anyway. 👍🏼

  • @jeremiahbachmann3901
    @jeremiahbachmann3901 Před 5 lety +2

    I've heard that the top layer of the leather/vinyl gets stripped off when using this type of product, therefore ruining the interior.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 5 lety

      No that’s not true. Only if the leather or vinyl is already damaged or wearing away will anything can start to remove the coating.

    • @jeremiahbachmann3901
      @jeremiahbachmann3901 Před 5 lety +1

      Great, @@MirandaDetailing, now I'm getting conflicting information from both sides. What is a detailer to do but to test it himself?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 5 lety

      Well after much research on leather and vinyl and using the cleaning sponges myself for a while now, it’s very obvious that vinyl and leather “coating” which is actually a very very strong paint will not be removed by this sponge or even with the cleaning products or steam we use. You would think that 270+ degree steam could also damage or potentially remove the color coat on leather or vinyl. But again if it’s not damaged/worn in the first it’s not going to cause any harm. Watch how many Detailers clean leather, sometime aggressively, it’s very tough.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 5 lety

      Also. The “coating” part is the top color part of the leather or vinyl. If you don’t see that being removed...then it’s not being removed.
