Skyasrappers has become an icon of modern development in today's time. Be it London or Paris, the people who earlier used to keep themselves away from skyscrapers, there is also a competition for skyscrapers today.
China has the highest number of skyscrapers in the world, followed by USA, UAE and than Our loved India comes at the fourth position. Today, skyscrapers boom is visible in many cities of India, be it Hyderabad or Mumbai, skyscrapers are being built on a large scale everywhere, which are going to rejuvenate the city of India in the coming times.
There are currently more than 300 skyscrapers in India and most of them are in Mumbai, New Delhi (with the NCR; Gurgaon and Noida) and Kolkata. The era of skyscrapers in India began with the completion of the LIC Building in Chennai in 1959. With 12 floors initially, it was the first high-rise building in the country.
Today in this video we will talk about the history of India's past skyscrapers and the future skyscrapers.

Guys, there is a reason Europe doesn't build tall buildings. And USA and UAE are not the countries that we should learn from. UK strongly regulates which skyscrapers are to be built in their cities. Tall buildings not only increase the population density dangerously, but also increase risks during disasters. And what's the point in even discussing the cancelled projects?!
This is just an informative video... and we are not Europe, we are Asian and we are Indians with the largest population in the world... so we need sakyasurpers to preserve other lands......

Taller buildings don't mean that they accomodate more people.
There is something called a collapse zone. This is the area that needs to be left empty around the tower in order the tower collapses. Taller the tower, larger is the required collapse zone. Hence larger is the amount of land wasted.
For examples, you could build 8-9 mid size skyscrapers in the same land parcel as one Burj Khalifa. Hence providing more usable floor space than one tall tower.
Also, if a tower is tall, it becomes a luxurious property. Hence instead of being a mid size tower with many apartments, we get a tall building with a few penthouses. This leads to further wastage of the already low floor space. This also increases the prices of homes and makes real-estate more unaffordable.
Now if you talk about New York, hold on. The day a big disaster strikes New York, the only thing people can do is sit on their couch with a bucket of pop-corn and enjoy the massacre unfold. And speaking about Dubai, that is a failed city. A simple search on google with explain why. You talk about China? China 'BANNED' the construction of super tall towers because of safety issues and the exorbitant costs related to these projects as they have a very high chances of failing or losing funding mid-construction.
And many of these towers are not even iconic. Can you even name two legendary architects to have ever existed? Without googling? Ever heard of Zaha Hadid? Norman Foster maybe? Maybe any firms? MAD architects? Do you understand what an iconic project it?
And this isn't an informative video at all. It's just a timepass video made by a layman without even researching the very basics. So please stop pretending that you have more intellect than those well-educated people working at AAI and other such government offices. And please stop misleading the public.
