  • In this video, two musicians react to John Mayer’s cover of Ain’t No Sunshine. One musician is a singer songwriter and proficient guitarist. The other is into pop-punk and hard rock music, but really enjoys the rhythm section of John Mayer’s live band.

This was around the time when John's voice was reaching it's limit and u can hear it. Cuz it would be in the next couple years that he would have several vocal cord surgeries from his technique issues. But I love this performance so much, everything at his crossroads performance was great, even with him struggling with his voice a little bit!

I like how this video is highlighting how a musician would really react.. tapping fingers during the solo section and stuff like that. 👍🏻👍🏻

I always liked to think that this era of mayer was when he was “out for blood”, left and right he was receiving accolades for his guitar work from the greats like BB King and Eric Clapton

Your timeline is a bit off. JM3 formed in like 2005 and that’s when John started getting more recognition from guitar players

Here's great blues guitarist you could do a series on, Joe Bonamassa. I have an affinity for him much more than JM for some reason. In this song Joe is playing an Albrt King cover, using Albert King's guitar. Reese Wynans , (of SRV fame), and Anton Fig on drums (known as David Letterman's drummer), Michael Rhodes (Acadamy awards winner) on bass, etc. czcams.com/video/qoX0Olfqziw/video.html Joe is also fantastic when Beth Hart sings with the band. Their "I'd rather be blind" is the best song I've ever heard performed live and Joe's solo is a huge part of it. czcams.com/video/UEHwO_UEp7A/video.html

I hate Joe Bonamassa's tone, and his playing is way more boring than Mayer's.
