  • The belt is so nimble it completely blew my mind when I realized it’s barely hindering my normal riding ability, I made this video to show there is very little restriction and the fun factor is just awesome, this is truly the future if you choose to go down this path, it’s addicting.
    I am riding the Armstrong ma 1000 foil with 60 fuse and v tail is a great combo,1st day out on the hp 93.5 Armstrong mast adds that extra space for whipping turns in bigger waves. The 93.5 mast is paired well with foil drive but will probably mount it on 86.5 in the near future. The extra real estate helps out heaps on hard turns.
    I am out at my local and surf the outside and stay on shoulder of my friends so every one can enjoy the line up, this is prone surfing with a boost when needed and should be used as such. You will see a double dip few times with no motor to show that you can connect and pump out with out power. Once you let off trigger your just a normal Foiler on the waves, ride with care.
    I do not endorse setting up the battery pack other then what foil drive recommends. I set this up for my style of riding.

    Nice vid! Big reduction in perceived swing weight in the board with the box mounted on your back as opposed to on the deck? Smooth as ever!

    • @skyramafoil
      @skyramafoil  Před rokem +4

      Yeah indeed If you on a small board or use to a small board like me then it's a huge improvement. Of you running bigger boards in 50l plus or sups then mounting on deck is good if ya can balance it well on the board.

      @skyrie73 thinking about running the battery on your back style for some help learning downwinding. My concern is if you fall, how do you keep the cable from getting pulled and potentially pulling off the motor or battery? Short leash maybe?

    Do you have a shorter than cable leash or are you using the cable as a leash?

    • @skyramafoil
      @skyramafoil  Před rokem +2

      The leash is shorter then the electrical cable, other wise it will rip out your wires at some point. Velcro the leash to the cable and attached leash to waist harness for clean set up.

      150lb para chord tied to my belt and leash loop on board one foot shorter then electric cable! Super simple never ever ever use the cable as your leash. It's really all super simple to me and most. No issues and I have had huge over heap wipe outs at full speed.

    • @skyramafoil
      @skyramafoil  Před 10 měsíci

      I don't endorse deviation from foil drives recommendations do so at your own risk.
      I ride sinker boards so I don't have much of choice for optimal set up and balance each to their own.

    Don't you find that the box gets a bit hot? The cooling surface at the bottom of the box seems to like being on the board so it gets some water cooling from time to time. Or do you just dunk your belt every so often?

    • @skyramafoil
      @skyramafoil  Před rokem

      No heating issues as my board is a sinker and definitely gets cooled off intervals, i reckon more cooled off then a 100l board that Nevers gets dunked? Was thinking of a cooling reflector like aluminum type tape to reflect heat out and keep it cool. The same tape they use for dings that's reflective would work excellent.

    • @skyramafoil
      @skyramafoil  Před rokem

      That being said there usually is a solution to every potential problem. 👍🏻 I think I'll do that tape today.
