- Between Christmas and 2019 and New Year I visited the Epping Ongar Railway.
Starting by traveling to Epping on a Central Line 1992 Stock train, we then catch a vintage Routemaster bus to North Weald. At North Weald we take a trip through Epping Forest on Shark Breakvan hauled by 100 year old Hawthorne Leslie "Isabel".
We then do some diesel bashing with 47635 and 31438 to as close to Epping as the line goes and to Ongar.

Very usefiul video. I am going to the Gala tomorrow 28 April 2024 so it was helpful fro you to point out what I will see and should look at. Thanks Henry.
You're welcome! Thank you for joining me! Enjoy the gala.
Very interesting little video. You certainly know your stuff 👍
Thank you! :) Glad you enjoyed watching!
On the Epping Ongar Railway, there's a GWR Small Prarie No.5521. This engine is so special to me because it visited Poland for 4-5 years and returned to England in 2011.
Thank you for watching! 5521 also visited Hungary and Slovakia and when she returned to England ran as L150 for Steam on the Met.
WOW , I’ve only just discovered your channel. Brilliant presentation, absolutely loved it, and as a 55 yo born and bought up in Ongar you took me back 40 years to before the 1994 shut down . From the age of 15 this was my route of escape every weekend up to the bright lights of that there London . The Ongar to Epping stretch would boost 4 carriages, 3 of which were non smoking and if the Interior of the 4th didn’t Deter you from the indulgence of nicotine then nothing would, In the words of one of your previous commenters “ keep up the good work “
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed my video and thank you for sharing your memories!
I went to the steam rally last year. He'll of a trek from bristol, but so worth it to see a castle. It's a beautiful place.
Thank you for watching! I missed the 4079's visit but I hope to see her in action this year.
hey henry man sizt you good aus and bist in the u-train downter wegs ein sehr nice movie😇🥰😘

Thank you so much Henry ! You have no idea how much pleasure your videos bring to us subscribers.
Thank you very much for watching and your kind words! Happy New Year!
All of LU is measured from Ongar, they remeasured the whole network in 71/72 in km with Ongar being 0km. Diesel events are great and you get a good selection of beers too on the breaks carriage. The metal bridge is from Woodford station.
Thank you for watching and the info. I'll try and get to one of their diesel galas this year or next!
I was at North Weald when the Class 47 Jimmy milne was delivered , interesting to watch them unload it onto the track.
Thank you for joining me! Sounds like an interesting thing to watch!
Ngl I’ve watched your videos for a while and this is a rlly under-rated channel, I’ll be starting volunteering at EOR next month, looking forward to it!
Thank you very much for watching! That's very kind of you to say. I hope you enjoy volunteering at the EOR.

Glad you think so!
Blake hall station is where the owner of the railway lives
So I've heard!
Ace! I do get quite involved in your videos sometimes Henry. Probably why I was waving at that bloke on the platform! 🤣
My best memory of being hauled by a 47 is sometime in the very early eighties. On the Manchester to Leeds trans Pennine route. Quite short about four carriages and I was talking to a guy who watched the last Deltic in service running. Being a midlander I’d only seen a photo in Railway World. ☹️
The line looks lovely and the “Hall” looked superb! I shall track down a video if you’ve posted one of it! Happy new year! 😁👍👊
I'm glad to hear your enjoyed this video and getting involved! :) I wish I'd seen 47s on the Manchester to Leeds route, at least there's now some loco hauled trains on that line again. I didn't film 4953 on the Shakespeare Express, that trip was before I had a video camera. There will however be a video of another Hall class coming soon! Watch this space....
