I recall the 75 having a red tank and the 74 having a candy blue tank like my 74 TL125. Nice oem example. with oem kill switch and pipe!

I believe this is actually a 1973. I’m not sure how to determine the year though. 👊
I’m restoring it now and would love to find the correct spark arrester.

If you pull the plug before doing this procedure, you won't be fighting compression ;)

I’ve been searching and I haven’t been able to find any information on the 250 wondered if you knew if points and spark plug gaps were the same as the 125s?

Nice video. When you set the dwell your hand blocked the view what you did to adjust - which screw is it, if any? I have a 1973 TL125 and was running good, but now won't start. I need to go over timing, points, spark and the rest too. I don't want to hose it up worse though. The only thing I did not see well was the dwell part and how you finalized it. Thanks.

Sorry about that. I placed my flat blade screwdriver between the two bumps in the back plate and the notch in the points plate, then with a slight twist of the screwdriver you can swing the points gap open and closed very precisely.

You can see exactly where I placed my flat blade screwdriver right before I blocked it with my hand

Hi Dave, Stupid question time ! Where does the wire from the points go to ? On my TL 125 the wire has come off where ever it goes to !

Hey, that's not a stupid question. The wire going to the points comes from the ignition coil located under the gas tank.
