I was fishing on the beach this day when you told me to get our your video.. I'm the guy in the Blue jacket shown around 18:35 on the right side of the pier. Being a long time angler here, I advocate for anglers rights also an original Seacliff surfcaster society member and work with anglers into You Tubes and understand the goals you guys are after. Jo Jo or Ed at Capitola boat n bait know me well if you need a reference that I'm not some kook. Other references from locals near your age group, Everet Bowles (Santa Cruz Surfcaster) on You tube, Capitola crew kids Cosgrove, Julian, ETC. I also work with Shimano as a product rep these days plus share special tackle from zoom being a former retired staff member and would appreciate your patience and understanding during the typically very busy summer months here. More anglers means more $$$$$ support to keep the beach and pier going and I know some locals get edgy over the crowds however the money to keep this place going has to come from somewhere, local donations are not enough. Best of luck to you and many tight lines in 2021. thanks for your understanding.

LMAO - I'm in NJ....we fish for Summer Flounder which looks almost exactly like a California Halibut. Your first cast fish from the beach is equal to the biggest Summer Flounder I've caught in the past 25 years of fishing for them....and I've caught over a 1000 of them. I wish I could figure out how the hell they grow so much bigger there. It's basically the same damn fish as the California Halibut is not a Halibut at all. The California Halibut is more closely related to a Fluke or Summer Flounder. This is a common misconception among anglers and the general public alike.
