Im having a doubt ,if increased VD noticed during denture delivery, can cusp reduction be a solution?does VD return to normal?or does it remain as a problem?.cud u plz clear it @dr teeth
Yeah, cusp reduction can be done it is called as Selective Grinding. But increased vertical dimension should be less than 1.5mm, then VD can be corrected by selective grinding.

We dont keep our teeth in contact always, a space is maintained instead and that's the freeway space. So when we bring teeth in occlusion that space is subtracted :)

Please try to write or use correct formula as it can become confusing for the students.
Vdo vdt n freeway space formula
Please make sure that such errors won't happen again since some students might just mug up things and memorize the formula.

rembr vdo is maximum intercuspation so.. It should be less than rest position.. So it's subtracting freeway space from vdr
