I was in tears when I heard the news that Bruce had passed away. I remember the fear that the band would not be able to replace Donnie Munro, because he was almost impossible to replace. I thought that the band was finished. Then I heard that they's recruited a Canadian and my first thoughts were that this could be a disaster, But the first time I heard him open his mouth, I knew it was an inspired choice. He knew better than to try to be Donnie Munro mk2. That would have been impossible. Instead, he became Bruce Guthro mk1 and the fans took him to their hearts. He gave us 21 years more of wonderful music. Seeing him on stage with Donnie at Muir of Ord - the 2 iconic singers side by side - was a wonderful experience. There was no competition between them: there was no need for it. RIP Bruce. God's band has just gained a new lead singer.,
A beautiful man with a beautiful voice. Thank you Bruce for keeping Runrig alive, and thank you for leaving us with so many lovely memories. For sure, the Runrig family will never forget you.
Such a loss. Such a talented man. And from all accounts, a family man, and just a good person. That is my highest praise for anyone - that they were a good person. There's a helluva ceilidh in heaven tonight. Go in peace Bruce. You made the world a better place. Safe home. ❤

I just read that Bruce passed away. I can hardly believe it. much too soon, much too quickly, he would have to say goodbye to everything that was dear to him.
