Can it be reloaded or do you have to by new ones every time one is deployed?

The game will be "How many times can you wrap a neck and still end up with the hooks in the eyes". I'm betting 8.

I concur, if you are faced with a combative person who is having a crisis and needs help, in the 21st Century of Policing it makes no sense to not to have this and many other tools to subdue and get the person the help they need.
Mental health crisis does not = Suicide by Cop
I would have rather my Nephew Nick Chavez been Bear Sprayed or wrapped up in super strength silly string than have to have been open fired on by HPD on April 21st 2020
It was a 100 % solution that was not necessary and a waste of a life and wasted careers for some Officers, that if they would have had the resources that today's technology has available could saved heartache to many families.
Many Officers can subdue an individual, however there are times when passion, chemicals, alcohol and emotional state can overwhelm the Officers and escalate to a fatal scene.
    Nobody wants their loved one
Killed and any attempt a Law Enforcent Agency makes at utilizing every tool possible not to kill a person is a Department in step with a positive progression toward better relations with the community.
My absolute praise and respect for San Mateo County Law Enforcement effort for further exploring this device and any others, because it is a sign of forward thinking and commitment to the Oath, "to Serve and Protect", not only the public but the Officers as well.
    Respectfully,
    Randy Chavez

Those anchors look a bit nastier than claimed. And if someone's wearing shorts, they must dig into the skin. So be it!

If an individual is not wearing clothing, BolaWrap's small hooks may penetrate into an individual’s skin, but the wound is small and superficial.

Next time the police arrest a suspect with their back turned & calmly standing there waiting it should work very well.

This is by far the stupidest and worst “thought out“ non-lethal device that’s ever been created. How long before it’s fired at a weird angle and goes around someone’s neck and hangs them and ends up seriously injuring them or killing them? And could you imagine that media blow back if the right people are in the right positions for the media to eat this alive? How long before it’s used and tripped someone, by design, and they crack their face on a curb and kills them or severely injured them? Don’t get me started on the hooks that could wrap around and get stuck in someone’s eye. I can’t believe this thing made it to production. Any officer that signs on to carry this thing, doesn’t know what they’re doing and is asking for litigation.

@@viccrown8188 Thats the dumbest shit ive read...i doubt they're not trained to aim it at legs and lower torso.... also if it trips and results in someone falling directly into a curb and killing themselves, without the bolawrap it would just further insure death as a physical takedown would be also applying the weight of the officer and his/her gear pressing behind the person giving the fall more force than the weight of your own fall..... not to mention anyone running from a police officer should be held directly accountable for any misfortune that befalls them I.E, falling into a curb
