since this came out like when they were rookies, the purpose of this whole SMCU is simply to introduce the lore and to show that every songs are connected to each other. This is hard to digest if you’re not really interested in them.

Introduces the concept of æ and the flat a virtual world inhabited by avatars called æs, each paired with a real-world counterpart.
aespa members are introduced along with their æ counterparts (avatars), revealing their connection and the parallel existence between the virtual and real worlds.
Introduces the antagonist, Black Mamba, a malicious entity within æ-Kingdom.

Basically Black Mamba is an AI villain trying to disconnect humans from their counterpart avatars to "protect" them from further human influence and the evil elements of social media.

Anyway the point of their lore is the same as any fictional movie or book - it's to tell a story, often accompanied by some kind of message or moral. Def feels like a ton went past your guys' heads (that or you didn't comment), but imo their lore is a STELLAR representation and commentary on a lot of current topics
e.g. ae represents the "perfect" image people put up on social media and idols/celebrities try to maintain. There also is a line about treating the ae's like products that can be thrown away, just like idols. Karina's arc was about expectations of perfection (and also unfortunately the phrase "you are everybody's Karina" aged well in that she got hated on for dating. Some "fans" even wrote: "aren't your fans' love enough for you?" in opposition). Winter's arc addresses the damage of rumors and gossip. Ningning's is about hate comments and public opinions doing quick 180s over nothing. And Giselle I'm not 100% sure, but part of it seems like the invasion of privacy that celebrities experience and that they are constantly being scrutinized. There's more, but anyway all very cool stuff.
