Honestly, Insomniac Spider-Man and Arkham Batman are the golden standard for any superhero game now.

This is why rocksteady should have made a Justice league game where each hero has there own unique skills. Become the Justice League or make a solo Superman game where it actually makes you feel like your Superman

I heard someone suggesting an alternative plot of SS: KTJL. Basically it focuses on Batman coming back from retirement and helping SS take down the corrupted Justice League, sacrificing himself in battle aganist Superman and through many character interactions change Harley Quinn for the better.
Or you know the Batman Beyond game they wanted to make until WB said "No. Make a Suicide Squad looter shooter with a battle pass."
So happy to see Lego Batman here. I have so many fond memories of playing Lego Batman 1 when I was younger (it’s also made me collect nearly all of the official mini figures from it) and decided to play It a few days ago and had a blast

@@DudePeefect69420 I'd have to do a LOT of research before being worthy of getting hired, I know next to nothing about the property, and the MCU is often laughably inaccurate when it comes to their adaptations of comics.
The fact you could hand someone or commit and tell them “hey, this is the Batman game that came out last week” and they would probably believe you shows how ahead of its time the game was. The gameplay, graphics, and overall presentation can match and often surpass games released today.

Spider-man games are outstanding, as far as gameplay go.
But the story of Spider-man 2 left a lots to be desired. It was rushed, but att he same time bloated with unnecessary missions which didn't add anything to the main story. It would have been better if they used the money/time/ resources of those missions (looking at you MJ) to polish the main story more, and to create a Miles specific unique villain.
While Arkham's second game has (amybe) the coolest story of all of the Arlham games.
Depends if sweet baby inc still controls Insomniac. However, the reason why i like the arkham games better than spiderman, is that batman aka bruce wayne still remains as the main character, and not downgraded like how spiderman was, (not mentioning suicide squad because I don't consider it arkham canon). But overall i do agree, if any other superhero games has a potential with the arkham games, it's spiderman.
@@pepita2437 Friend, the story of Spiderman 2 does not leave much to be desired, it is rushed, YES, but it is a good story, also compare MJ's missions from the first game with the second, literally the tunnel mission is one of the best missions in the game, it becomes In a survive horror, just because you don't like the story doesn't mean that the game isn't very good and one of the best.

The woke stuff for Marvel's Spider Man 2 are for side missions only and they are minor and aren't important so they serve no purpose and they don't ruin the overall experience. Plus those side missions are optional too. The term "woke" is being overused alot these days that's it's becoming cringe and lost its meaning. Woke doesn't make any game worse. Like Baldur's Gate 3 has way more woke then Marvel's Spider Man 2 but it won GOTY.

People used to say Insomniac Spider-Man is a Batman Arkham knockoff or Spider-Man copied Arkham.
Watch when they make a Captain America or Daredevil game. Now, these games would truly be the ones who did copy the Arkham games or have very identical gameplay it would look like Spider-Man did it's own thing

I really love how you gave lego games the respect they deserve. Lego games can be as good, or even better than any other game, and saying Lego games are just kids games and not comparable to other games is the same as saying animated movies are all the same and not just an art style

16:47 Fairly certain Batman developed detective vision and it's not in his head. In Arkham Origins you have to restore detective vision by rebooting the Batcomputer to find Alfred. It wouldn't surprise me if it were just in his head though without the technology: because he's Batman.

I couldn't beat the GotG game because my PS4 controller wasn't working during the Milano sequences. No matter how hard I pressed R2, the damn thing just didn't shoot so I couldn't progress past chapter 6. 😔

Don’t know if this counts as a superhero game per say, but the Transformers War for and Fall of Cybertron are both top tier games. Maybe if they belong in a different genre, a list could be made for that
People have been hating me for months now for saying this but the combat is the spider games are far superior than the Arkham games. In the Spidey games the combat is more in your control, there is more to do.

in Arkham city when you suit up batman just puts the suit on for the first time Bruce isn't wearing eye shadow when he does actually put the suit on but then when we see him with the suit on he's wearing it.
Spider man ps4 had it all. The story, the voice acting, the action, the villains, the story arcs, and most of the designs. The music was awesome and felt like it was I was experiencing a standard day in Peter’s life
Spider man 2 definitely had its highs, but I feel it was very messy towards the end. And while I feel the game should’ve been longer, there’s also some parts that do drag on a bit too much. The first has wayyyyy more replayability factor, I’ve finished it 3 times. I’ve only played the entirety of spider man 2 once

With Guardians of the Galaxy, it was mostly "unpopular" because at first glance, it looked a lot like that shitty Avengers game made by Crystal Dynamics (Guardians was actually made by Eidos), and that tanked the potential success of Guardians despite it's quality, which is really unfortunate.

The Punisher Game from 2005 was a art of Brutality in video games. The game felt like a love letter to the character in a way we understand. The developers even brought in 3 of the comic book writers that gave us The Welcome Back Frank comic run to write the Game's story. They gave some loose ties from the 2004 Punisher movie to give the game at least some ties to the Final boss, That Being John Saint as Jigsaw. The fact that they left us a unsasifyed Cliffhanger with KingPin vowing revenge against The Punisher is disappointing to say the least. 10/10.

It’s sad how rocksteady simply isn’t what it used to be, the graphics for the knight skin in the Arkham series was beautiful, it’s graphics literally still hold up to this date, and yet “the Batman” suit looks like it was made on the ps4. Really goes to show their lack of care

I personally wasn't a big fan of Guardians of the Galaxy and would switch it out with Spiderman Shattered Dimensions as well as put the Lego games in 5th place (my honorable mentions wouldn't have Telltale Batman since I'm not a big fan since the choices didn't matter nearly as much as games like Detroit Become Human nor was the story for me so I would instead give my honorable mentions to Deadpool and X-Men Origins Wolverine PS3 game), but otherwise I agree. Also my favorite Arkham game is Arkham Knight.

I have a lot of unpopular takes when it comes to video games, for example: I hated Guardians of the Galaxy, I thought Spider-Man was mid, and I was bored by playing God of War. When it comes to GotG and GoW, it's because I hate feeling like I'm on rails the entire time I'm playing, especially in a game with lots of combat. Admittedly the only Spider-Man game I played was Miles Morales, and in my opinion it was such a weak game. The dialogue made me cringe, the combat seemed to me like "Arkham combat but bad," and the AI was brain-dead. Of course most people will think I'm an idiot, and that's fine, it's just my opinion.
The Arkham series is my favorite video game series of all time. It reached a peak of storytelling, combat, and immersion that I can only hope will be surpassed in the future.
Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's bad and that they are average.

The cutscenes are good, The gameplay itself is a tactical role-playing game, and for that genre I enjoyed it. But if you don't like turn based RPG games then I wouldn't recommend it

I completely agree that the Arkham games are the best superhero games in the world. I just finished a second play through of all the games because of the new Suicide Squad game (not that I’m gonna play it) and they still are some of the best games I’ve ever played

Okay I’m going to be honest right now I’ve never played the new Spider-Man games but I still play the Arkham games and even knights and the one with Harley and joker is now in the game
Lego games are some of the best triple A games as they are very polished and are full of content and are not really rushed unlike a lot of triple A games today

Now you have to do the worst superhero games ever made. Just not including Superman 64. But there are still some good options such as Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad kills the Justice League and I’m sure some others, not all games are successes
I personally prefer the Spider-Man games over the Arkham games in just about every respect. The combat allows for more freedom and creativity, the story is more character driven and personal, and the traversal is just an absolute visual spectacle.

If I’m being completely honest, Arkham Batman got overhyped for me
Same thing that happened with Bloodborne, I heard all the hype, subconsciously went in with high expectations, and was let down

Compared to Insomniac Spider-Man which I’ve replayed so many times by this point I can’t keep track
I prefer Arkham of spiderman but ure right Arkham knight was over hyped
I liked the avengers game at the beginning but then it was the same levels over and over again and it was also impossible to pick the skins so before even playing a level I spend 20 to 40 minutes picking a skin for each character and it’s sorta frustrating that they don’t all have the same skin thing and what I mean by that is they don’t all have the supernatural avengers skin they don’t all have the volcanic skins don’t all have the weird goofy looking animal skins etc. also Spider-Man isn’t on Xbox but he is on PlayStation which I don’t have :(
