    I’m seeing some concerned comments and I want to reiterate something very important: I AM A 4’11" WOMAN, PEOPLE. You can literally Google how many calories a 4’11" woman needs and it will tell you: 1450 calories. And that number is for someone NOT trying to lose weight! So yes, while this may seem like shockingly little food to some of you, I happen to be a shockingly petite woman! With the help of my doctor I’ve found a way to narrow down my calories to the type of hearty, nutrient dense foods that leave me satiated while also promoting weight loss. It’s not always easy, but let me tell you it has all been well worth it! All that said… PLEASE DO NOT COPY MY DIET IF IT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU!! This channel is about sharing my journey, and I encourage you all to find what works best for your individual selves. 💋

      I really appreciate you addressing people’s concerns and reiterating that you’re not telling people what they should do, instead, just saying what you do. Maybe adding a full and proper disclaimer at the start would help. I know all your content comes from a good place, but you do have some very young and impressionable fans who may strive to follow a diet that isn’t safe for them. All the very best and be safe.

      Thanks for saying this. I just want to say I’ve been a fan for ever. I think you are beautiful inside and out. Something to think about though... putting a picture of you and holding a scale and title what you eat in a day just that right there could make a lot of people not feel good. Food and weight don’t correlate but feeling healthy is different. I don’t know the thumbnail just doesn’t sit right with me.

    Y'ALL. This is restriction at it's FINEST. 4'11 and eating a "normal" amount of calories or not.. it's all about the mentality! Girl you have cravings because you're restricting! If you would just eat the piece of chocolate you want and move on, you'll see the cravings disappear! Chugging water instead? That's how restriction/binge cycles start. Maybe you're not experiencing any binges right now but that is so common for most people who start living this way and could happen to any subscribers who start to follow your "lifestyle". This is not sustainable. Love you Adrienne and no judgement towards you as a person I love you (cheetah sista for life) but please look into the studies done on why dieting and restricting causes more harm than good.

    As someone who has had disordered eating for literal years and is now recovered, this looks restrictive and you probably have metabolic damage tbh. I’m 5” and I would go crazy eating like this, which was what I was eating at my worst. No energy, miserable, overworked, overthinking and constantly craving food. Anyone who’s watching this and thinks this is sustainable is prepping themselves for failure trust me. Weight training, cardio a few times a week and a balanced diet with enough variety and even 80/20 healthy/unhealthy foods is enough to allow you to 1.enjoy life! And 2. Actually stay healthy. Living this restrictive lifestyle, I actually became skinny fat not fit and healthy. Your body will retain fat to survive and any small increase in calories will cause a fluctuation in weight as your body becomes damaged. Be careful and smart when making decisions with your health. Don’t just follow what someone else does. YT channel Natacha Oceane has great advice and has actually looked at the science. I wish all the best with their health journeys.

      sophieee Proteins and fats focus. I cook most of my food, probably eat out like twice a week max. I make things like ramen (with veg and egg), stir frys, spaghetti bolognaise, curries, quesadillas, and a bunch of other things. My biggest replacement for unhealthy snacks is a fruit bowl. Usually I don’t crave sweets after this. Put Greek yoghurt at the bottom of the bowl, then frozen fruit (usually used for smoothies) and a bunch of unfrozen fruit. Layer it. Put honey, nuts and other things as toppings. BUT my biggest tip is watch the portions when you have treats and please DO have treats. Life is about enjoying yourself too, combined with health. Pinterest is great if you’re looking for recipes, try different cultures and different types of food. Make it fun. If you’re looking for ideas my Pinterest is @xxii_kaiya_xxii I’m always adding recipes I like to it.

    "You eat and within an hour you go to the bathroom" I'm a pharmacist and I can tell you that this statement right here is anatomically, physiologically incorrect and impossible.
    After you eat, it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your stomach and small intestine. Food then enters your large intestine (colon) for further digestion, absorption of water and, finally, elimination of undigested food. Hence, a healthy bowel movement is using the bathroom once or twice a day, and it also varies from person to person. However, if you're having to use the bathroom straight, every time you eat somehting then what you're experiencing is diarrhea.
    My advice is to eat healthy, balanced food, and do not "detox" because it's a myth, our body has a built in detox system (the liver) and it detoxes without the help of a juice..etc.

    Adrienne, I love your channel, I think you're awesome. That being said, this is not 1450 calories. Please consider taking this down, there are young girls who genuinely look up to you and don't know how to think critically about CZcams content. Also, please reconsider how you speak about food in front of your audience. Chugging water to avoid cravings is a common method used by folks with eating disorders (I'm not saying you have one), and I would hate for people to think that it's okay to do that because their favorite celebrity does. Once again, no hate towards you, I am just hoping you will take this video down for the sake of your more vulnerable audience members.

    • @adannaxo
      @adannaxo Před 3 lety +6

      She's not doing anything damaging. Most of the time, when we feel hungry it is most likely a result of being thirsty and dehydrated. This is because the feeling of hunger and thirst come from the same part of the brain, so we can't distinguish between the two. Most likely when we think we are hungry, we are actually dehydrated. Whenever I drink an optimum amount of water a day (recommended amount of 2L) I don't have the urge to eat as much as I do when I don't drink enough water, so I end up eating the amount of food I need rather than eating more than what I do need. When I practice this, I only eat three meals during the day. Rather than 4 or 5.
      Cravings usually come from lack of a certain vitamin or mineral (calcium, magnesium, vitamin B2, for example) and it registers in our brain as a craving for sugar, salt or fatty foods. When we enrich our bodies with proper nutrition, we can abolish cravings.
      She is just making sure to stay properly hydrated, promote healthy digestion, and be healthy overall.
      I can agree with the fact that she may not have eaten as much, but the drinking habits she has developed aren't negative. A craving for unhealthy food can be curbed by drinking water and eating healthy foods. And there's nothing wrong with that.

      SimplyDaniella wherever you learned this from....it’s a crock of shit. I say that with kindness. There are no benefits to eating smaller meals and there’s no science-backed evidence to suggest so. You don’t need to help your body “rid itself of toxins”, it is perfectly capable of doing that on its own, as long as you are a healthy individual who isn’t suffering from a digestive illness. Being overweight can lead to health issues, and so can being underweight. Unfortunately, as women, we are primary targets of diet culture and all of the pseudo-science that they peddle us in order to encourage us to hate our bodies and buy more of their products. It’s been an endless cycle since the first fashion magazine...but we’re in 2020 and people have access to endless SCIENTIFIC and peer-reviewed research that it’s just unacceptable to still be falling for the same old tricks.

    I totally get what you mean about reevaluating your relationship with food. I eat when I am bored, because I love food, I go for all of the unhealthy stuff too. One day I just realized like wow...this is so unhealthy. Food is supposed to be a necessity, I should only be eating when hungry as that is natural..but I am eating so much during the day for not that reason. If you just kind of step back and think before you eat, you’ll realize you’re probably not even hungry. Eating when ONLY hungry like you’re supposed to, and creating healthy/fun/creative meals and portions for yourself is very possible and I am so glad you’re showing us that!

    I'm 4'11" and I think this video was absolutely reasonable. Sometimes I'm full off of a single meal, and don't feel hungry the rest of the day. SOCIETY tells me I should eat more, but I actively have to decide to listen to my body. I'm 118lb and there's no question I'm overweight. Thank you Adrienne, for being brutally honest about how toxic a relationship with food could be - literally.

    i... girl what? I had to watch this twice to make sure i didn't miss anything. There's no way you're able to sustain energy on eating this minimally. No snacks? In the AM you have a green juice.... then a few hours later you have an avocado with a rice cake + soup. You then wanted something sweet a while after but chugged down water to distract you from the fact that you want something sweet? My god you are allowed to eat something sweet.. have a piece of chocolate. or fruit. literally anything. Chugging down water to 'get rid' of a craving is an eating disorder trick lol trust me I know all of them. Then you go the entire day without eating and have soup again for dinner??? This doesn't seem healthy to me. Are you getting enough calories throughout the day? So many questions.
    Yes, food is here to keep us alive and it is important for us to cultivate eating habits that are mindful and aware so we are actually nourishing our body... but we don't have to only eat for sustenance. This idea is what drives people to orthorexia. You are allowed to have candy if you want some damn candy- obviously not everything should be eaten like a sumptuous banquet but you don't seem to be eating enough at all. Please take care of yourself Adrienne. Remember, it's okay to have some damn 'junk' food. 🤍

      apple bee 💐 yes! food is social connection. it’s unnecessary to deprive yourself this much & eating ‘junk’ shouldn’t be just for certain occasions, all kinds of food should fit within your everyday diet. this kind of thinking that adrienne was promoting just leads to disordered eating habits.

      @fgcfelice Před 4 lety +4

      avi it really does! And it rubs me the wrong way, since I had a lot of issues with food growing up. • @swvp-ri3ux
      @swvp-ri3ux Před 4 lety +11

      apple bee i was thinking the same thing! if she’s so adamant on how food should nourish your body & be put to good use, why isn’t she focused on getting enough protein, carbs, calcium, etc.? the whole video was basically ‘here’s what i eat to curb my appetite for junk food/ stay skinny’. i’m worried she’s fallen into some kind of eating disorder- i myself have struggled with an ED and this entire video just sounds like things my ED voice would tell me lol. i just hope she takes this video down or does a follow up video that’s way more in depth and realistic.

I’m sure she had lunch and dinner later which means more opportunities for protein! Avocado = 2.9 grams, 2 rice cakes= 1.4 grams, soup= 1.1 grams, geeen juice= 4 grams. I love you Adrienne, but this is not a sustainable diet. Yes you will loose weight, but it's not in a healthy way. Food is made for you to enjoy too, that's why it has flavor and that's why you have taste buds. There was barely any protein or carbohydrates in your diet and those are essential for your body to function long term. The best way to stay slim is to build lean muscle because it burns more calories and it is less mass than fat. There is no way you can do this with that diet. This way of eating is low key borderline eating disorder. A dietitian and a healthy chef could help you find healthy foods that will fit in with your body goals and enjoy your food. Also, I'm a fan and I know you're trying to conceive from The Real and eating like this can make your body feel like it's in starvation and prevent you from conceiving and carrying a baby to term. This is all with love and understanding because I've been there before when I went vegan and lost a lot of weight. -All Love xoxo

      Agree with you 100%. She is eating too little meaning she is in a very big calorie deficit. No protein in a whole day of eating which is not good. Such a deficit may signal the body to shut down ‘unnecessary’ processes to efficiently use the little energy it’s getting and most of the time for females it’s the menstrual cycle. The body deems it unnecessary for survival. This way of eating is unsustainable longterm.

    I feel like your not eating enough and just to keep the weight off...that's just vain to me. You can certainly be vegan and be healthy and eat a more nutritious and balanced diet.

      That’s exactly what I thought. My husband and I are like 90% plant based and eat food that tastes really good. Food was meant to be enjoyed or else why have tastebuds right? I want to look good but not at the cost of starving my self and to me that way she eats would be starving my self and I’m 5’2 and 120 and love it. I’d rather loose weight by eating cleaner, working out and eating mostly plant based and every now and then eat a delicious regular meal that isn’t just plant based. Like fish tacos. If she wants something sweet she can have it but in a much healthier way, like str 🍓 dipped in dark chocolate. That’s vegan no reason to not have fun when you eat because you’re vegan. Also worrying about water wight, really!! Or weighing her self constantly isn’t good for her.

      Nergy11 just make sure you take vegan vitamin 12 vitamins. I was normally anemic even if I ate meat. I Make sure to eat things with protein which means eating lots of legumes like beans, lentils, garbanzos. Also lots of spinach for iron. If I feel like eating any animal products I will but very rarely like a treat. After going vegan cold turkey from eating animal products, being vegetarian one day would be a piece of cake. By the way my iron went from 8 eating meat to 10 by eating Vegan. It’s still not normal but almost there. Hope everything works out for you. 😊

    6:34 I actually think we can eat healthy and still enjoy it. finding pleasure in food should not be reserved to unhealthy food. That's just my opinion, but to me having a healthy relationship with food is to not have to force myself to eat things I don't like just because it's healthy, because it may not be healthy psychologically in the long run. Associating healthy with "not so good but I have to eat it" and unhealthy with "delicious" can make a lot of people fail in their attempt to have a healthier lifestyle.
    I have a very healthy diet and the reason I can keep up with it is because I am able to crave and enjoy the meals I prepare.
    But I agree that the number one reason to eat should not be for the pleasure but to feed our body good nutrients. When it's the other way around, it can also affect one's relatioship with food.
    So yeah, it may not work for everybody but it works for you, so that's great. As long as it doesn't affect your mental health.

    Like can we make something AS SIMPLE AS eating and feeding your body the new norm, too many woman are eating less than 1,000 calories a day! Literally killing their bodies!

    I’m currently recovering from a eating disorder and this video has been a major trigger for me, the tips you give can affect someone’s life for real, I bet it doesn’t really work for you in real life as this is not a sustainable diet for anyone.

    So....
    1 green juice, 1 Avocado, 2 rice crackers and 2 bowls of soup? That’s IT??
    Whew I couldn’t keep that up for a long time.
    Wow if you can maintain that type of diet!!!
    I’m sure you know this but you should always eat AT LEAST the amount of calories your basal metabolism needs (=the calories your body needs in order to function correctly, when it would be totally resting), NEVER less than that!!! You will kill your metabolism if you go lower than that.
