- Shazam actors Zachary Levi, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Cooper Andrews gave a panel at Steel City Con August 2022 to talk about this amazing film, their experiences, and to answer fan questions.
Zachary Levi is Shazam, but also played Chuck in… well…. Chuck, Flynn Ryder in Tangled, Fandral in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, Benjamin in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Kurt Warner in American Underdog, and many other live-action and voice roles. He relates to fans at conventions because he’s definitely one of them… he plays video games, watches superhero and sci-fi movies, and geeks out with the best of them.
Jack Dylan Grazer is Freddy Freeman in Shazam and is also known for It, It Chapter Two, Luca, We Are Who We Are, Speechless, Beautiful Boy, Don’t Tell a Soul, and Me, Myself and I.
Cooper Andrews played Victor Vasquez in Shazam, but is also known for The Walking Dead, Den of Thieves, Halt and Catch Fire, Hawaii Five-0, The Red Road, S.W.A.T., and Aquaman: King of Atlantis.
Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods will be released on December 21, 2022.

I really love Zachary’s answer on if he could play anyone in the DC universe it would be who he is playing as Shazam. He definitely loves the character and it shows so honestly through his acting. This is why the movie is so good. I have only seen one other actor who obviously genuinely loved playing his character and that is Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man. You can tell when an actor or actress gets the character on a personal level. It makes the experience so much more meaningful. Great Job Zach. Thank you for giving us a great movie from your heart. I love your s Mae of humor brother. I hope the best for your future career.

I asked the American Underdog question. My idea would be that we see them win the Superbowl, Dick leaves and Mike Martz takes over, "The Greatest Show On Turf rolls along," they lose the Super Bowl, Kurt's injuries begin, we see a snippet of him with the Giants, then we see him with the Cardinals. Throughout this we would see his growing family, Brenda's blood clot, and her desire for Kurt to stop. He is trying to prove that he can still play. I'm assuming he probably called Dick Vermeil in there somewhere and we'd see him talk to Dick. It would end with him losing the Super Bowl but being happy with his life and family and thanking God for everything he accomplished and being able to prove that he wasn't a fluke. We would skip the last season he played. Possibly even skip the Giants season.
I’d watch it. Not just because Zac is in it, but I like watching true stories, especially about Christians.
@@dnte_86 I went to a Christian college where the film department made fun of Kendrick Brothers movies and Pure Flix films. I understand it a little better now because those movies didn't have great actors and the stories were contrived at times. They weren't trying to make films for everyone. They were just trying to give something for Christians to watch. Well the Erwin Brothers tell mostly biopics and get bigger names and make movies that can possibly bring non-Christians in. The movies are a little more honest. Also they use mainstream music at times. Still, I don't know why American Underdog underperformed in comparison to I Can Only Imagine or Jesus Revolution. I mean maybe it was the pandemic, maybe because it came out at Christmas. I've never seen I Can Only Imagine or I Still Believe because I've never been super big on worship music. But I like how Jesus Revolution gives a little nod to the beginning of Christian Rock and also showed that secular music is ok.
@@HarveyBacktheBeatles I get it. They really should be making movies that make sense to the real world issues. I've been trying to write my own stories, but been struggling. Hopefully Pure Flix starts to pay attention more to what is needed to be shown. Not just the same stories over and over again. But then again, Hollywood is known to do that - in general.
