Quoting scriptures in your prayers is a very powerful thing because it means you've taken time to study HIS word and know that it holds truth. Just think about the time when Jesus was in the wilderness and the devil came and tried to tempt HIM, he used scriptures to counteract all the lies and deceit that the devil tried to tell him.

I have the book "Praying The Scriptures over Your Children" & that's when I really started doing it but in the past I've done it a couple of times.

I really loved this video. I used the scriptures to pray for joy when I was depressed and I really saw joy manifesting in me. For peace I love praying with PS 119:165 great peace have those who love your law and nothing shall cause them to stumble. ❤️

I lead a youth meeting last Saturday and my topic was on prayer but this was my emphazied point which was praying scripture. I recently started doing so and I thought I'd share it with them and here you are speaking on it again. Look at God😊🙌🏾

Melody!!! Girl….listennnn. I watch so much of your content and I absolutely love how God uses you to edify and build the body of Christ in your authentic self. This video!!! Thank you thank you thank you. I am a literal person who needs things to literally be explained out for me to completely understand it or know how to do it🥴lol. I’m big on praying, but I still struggle with praying the scriptures. The fact that you literally prayed an example, gave multiple examples of prayers and scriptures you found that backed them; just blessed my heart and turned on the “well that’s not hard to do” light in my brain!!lol. Our First Lady referenced a book at one of our women’s bible study. The book speaks of praying using scriptures. The title of the book is Praying the Bible by Donald S. Whitney.

Thanks for sharing this! This is so needed especially among our generation of believers. This is something I was taught in my freshman year of college and now I’m in my 30’s and have sort of gotten away from these foundational truths and I see the difference between when I prayed the scriptures and when I didn’t. Thank you for posting this because it brought back memories and reminded me about the importance of praying the scriptures. This is so unique and I’m so glad I came across your video about this. I was starting to feel as though my prayers were repetitive and God wasn’t hearing me but now with this technique I can pray with more power and boldness! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Oh this is helpful. I’ve known about backing up your prayer with scripture but for me it was like I had to know these scriptures by heart, so it was never valuable and it felt like I’m a bad person when I couldn’t mention the correct scripture, which affected my prayer life. This is so helpful because now I understand what I need to do moving forward and I trust that my prayer life will improve since I’ve decided to follow Christ and having him as my saviour again. I think God just orchestrated everything for me with this video and I’m grateful for that 🙏🏽

Bless you for sharing. To me this is actually a reminder, 2get deeper in quoting scriptures when praying, because I do but I see/feel the need to get deeper now after this reminder. You have also reminded me to write my prayer requests down and answered prayers down. I am getting the sheet from the description, thank you. I remember in the movie war room that lady did that. My prayers will now have more clearer direction sis thanks.

This is something I never thought about. I am definitely doing this from now on. I jot down my prayer requests and then write them in my journal but this scripture thing will be something I actually implement 😊 What a great idea 🙏

Sword of the spirit is the word of God. Incorporating scripture is powerful. Especially for deliverance prayers etc. We must also remember to ask the Holy Spirit to help us pray in accordance to God’s will & to change our hearts to desire the things that He has for us in an area, if they aren’t exactly what we want for ourselves. If we’re praying for things outside of His will, that He has maybe shown us are not what He has for us, scripture incorporation won’t really be of benefit. Some of our prayers simply won’t be answered the way that we desire, as His ways are greater, even when it’s difficult to perceive it. Just a side note, lol. there is powerful breakthrough with scripture prayer, and I am encouraged by this video.

I feel like you have been doing this before, I started aligning my prayer request with specific bible quote from your instalment of prayer journaling, using different colours, study bible and and and. But anyway it is alway fulfilling to watch and learn from you. I am going to start doing them in columns now😍🙏🏾

Amen sis, I have been taking my prayer time and devotions to another level. I definitely have grown in my faith and excitement towards God. I bought a study bible and I also bought Priscilla's book Fervent and I have been loving it. I downloaded and printed your work sheet. I am also considering signing up for your membership group to be surrounded by like minded people and gain/give encouragement and support in this journey.
However, I am going to firmly establish my own devotional life then I can join.
Yes I have heard about praying scripture and have been doing so but the format you gave makes it easier because I be writing some long epistle prayers.

How do you know when you should keep praying and be still and allow god to do the work?
God is truly a promise keeper, so why not pray his promises. We sometimes lack the Holy Spirit to give us the power to activate the word of God in us. I like how you wrote it down. Thanks for sharing.
